Gustav leaned back while processing everything. His Genetic Transformation bloodline, the original power that had defined him in his earlier days was going to evolve into something even greater.

The System floated in front of him with arms crossed and a grin on its face. ”Looks like youʼve got quite the boost ahead of you. But, you know, with great power comes great—”

”Yeah, yeah, I get it, youʼre not Uncle Ben,” Gustav interrupted, waving her off.

The System gave him a mock salute.

”By the way, wasnʼt there something you were supposed to tell me like... I donʼt know... Six months ago?” Gustav suddenly voiced with a look of slight annoyance.

”Yes that... You should probably hold on till you get your sword back. You already have a lot on your plate,” the system responded.

”No. You said you were going to tell me after I found dimension six. Spill,” Gustav demanded.

”Once you get your sword, I will. One thing at a time,” After saying this, the system physical form vanished.

Gustav felt like strangling it but he kept his composure.

”You sleasy little rascal.”

...

...

The days following the closure of the dark fissures were some of the most eventful yet hopeful Earth had experienced in months.

Gustavʼs return and his incredible feat of sealing the fissures had spread like wildfire across the planet. News broadcasts, social media, and even holographic billboards carried his image, celebrating the hero who had once again saved humanity from destruction.

As people began to return to their cities, rebuilding what had been corroded by the dark mist, there was a collective sigh of relief—a momentary pause in the relentless anxiety that had gripped the planet.

But for Gustav, there was little time to celebrate.

He had spent the past few days testing out his newly unlocked abilities, pushing his limits and seeing how far the evolutional upgrades had taken him.

Gustav stood alone on the edge of a vast plateau as he surveyed the barren terrain ahead. The landscape stretched far, broken only by pointy cliffs and scattered boulders.

Taking a deep breath, Gustav extended his hand and activated Elemental Fusion.

[ Elemental Fusion Has Been Activated ]

The first thing he was an elemental fusion of ice and lightning. He closed his eyes, focusing on both elements at once—

With a sudden burst, his hand shot forward, and from his fingertips erupted a streak of lightning, but this was no ordinary bolt.

The electricity was wrapped in an icy, translucent sheen. As the frozen lightning arced through the air, the terrain before him crackled and exploded with a strange stillness.

The ground itself seemed to freeze instantly upon contact as the earth crystallized into a shimmering, glassy surface, but at the same time, the sheer energy behind it caused the frozen ground to crack violently with thunderous force.

Gustav grinned, watching the frost crawl across the land while crackles of electricity ran through the crystalline surface. Wherever the frozen lightning struck, the earth was left suspended in a half-frozen, half-electrified state—an impossible blend of iceʼs calm and lightningʼs fury. The effect was mesmerizing, a beautiful yet deadly combination of forces.

”Impressive,” Gustav muttered to himself.

The air around the frozen terrain shimmered with the residual charge, and his own body buzzed with the aftershock of controlling such an unstable force.

Satisfied with the first test, Gustav turned focused on the elemental fusion of fire and air.

With a sharp motion of his hand, he summoned a whirlwind, but this was no ordinary gust. Flames roared within the wind, spiraling into a massive inferno as it tore through the landscape.

The firestorm blazed hot and fast, turning boulders to molten rock and scorching the earth beneath it, yet the wind carried the flames with precision, directing them exactly where Gustav willed it.

He directed the flaming winds across the plateau, watching as the land was engulfed in swirling torrents of fire. The heat was immense, and yet, as quickly as the wind had brought the fire, it could whisk it away, leaving only smoldering ash behind.

Gustav marveled at the control he held over the destructive forces. He felt more powerful than ever before, but the true test was still to come.

Next was the newly acquired most dangerous skill:

[ Cosmic Erasure Has Been Activated]

This ability wasnʼt about bending elements to his will; it was about eliminating existence itself. Gustav turned toward a small boulder nearby, one that had stood untouched by his elemental experiments.

He focused his energy, channeling the essence of cosmic erasure into his hand.

A faint shimmer appeared in the air around the boulder, a distortion in reality itself. With a slight gesture, the boulder simply... vanished. There was no explosion, no noise. It was as though the boulder had never been there. The space it had occupied was empty, not just physically but in the very fabric of reality.

No trace remained of its existence.

Gustav stood there, staring at the spot where the boulder had been.

There was no undoing this. The boulder hadnʼt just been destroyed—it had been erased from the universe. No one who had seen it before would remember it, and no evidence of its presence would remain.

Gustav wanted to test just how far this ability went, so he called over one of the guards stationed nearby.

”Hey,” Gustav said as the guard approached. ”Do you remember that boulder that used to sit right over there?”

The guard blinked, looking confused. ”A... boulder, sir? No, I donʼt recall any boulder being there.”

Gustav frowned, but he wasnʼt surprised. Cosmic Erasure had worked. He pressed further. ”You sure? A big one, kind of jagged?”

The guard shook his head, his brows knitting together in confusion. ”Iʼve been stationed here for weeks, sir. Thereʼs never been a boulder there, I can assure you.”

”Never?” Gustav repeated, more for his own amusement.

”Never,” the guard confirmed. ”Are you feeling alright, sir?”

Gustav waved him off with a dismissive smile. ”Iʼm fine, just checking something. Carry on.”

As the guard walked away, Gustav chuckled to himself. The boulder, and all memory of it, had been wiped clean from existence.

Such a power was just too insane... This meant that if he erased a person, no one would know they ever existed. Not their friends, not their family, not their lover.... no one.

The thought was both exhilarating and terrifying.

It was a force so destructive that even he was cautious about using it unless absolutely necessary.

Despite the power at his disposal, one pressing matter remained unresolved: Calden Reist. The former MBO officer, now corrupted by Nocturnisʼs power, was still on the loose.

Gustav knew that as long as Calden remained hidden, there was a growing threat to Earth. And, with the sword still missing, finding him was paramount.

Gustav stood on the balcony, overlooking the city below. The skyline was still marred by the destruction caused by the fissures, but already, construction crews were hard at work, repairing the damage.

”Any luck with the sword?” Gustav questioned softly.

Endric, who stood beside him, shook his head, his brow furrowed in frustration. ”Iʼve tried everything. I even pushed Husarius to assist.” He pointed to the faint, glowing green dot on his forehead, which flickered as Husarius, stirred. ”But somethingʼs blocking us. Every time we get close to seeing where the sword is, itʼs like a wall comes down. We canʼt penetrate it.”

Gustavʼs expression hardened. He had suspected as much. ”Nocturnisʼs power, no doubt. Heʼs preventing us from seeing where the sword is. The closer we get, the more he pushes back.”

Endric sighed. ”Itʼs frustrating.”

”We need to keep searching. Calden Reist is the key. If we find him, weʼll find the sword,” Gustav stated.

----sss

Endric nodded in agreement but didnʼt look hopeful. ”Iʼll keep trying. Husarius has been combing through every possibility, but...”

A voice chimed in from behind them, interrupting their conversation. ”Gustav!*Endric!”

Gustav turned to see Aildris, Falco, and Sersi approaching.

Aildris, tall and regal as ever, looked much the same as he always had, though there was a subtle tension in his usually calm demeanor.

Falco, the son of Nocturnis, walked with a quiet grace, though his heritage was always present in his eyes. And then there was Sersi, practically bouncing with excitement as she ran toward Gustav with her blue eyes sparkling.

”Father!” Sersi called out while leaping toward Gustav with unrestrained joy. Despite their only four-year age gap, she still affectionately referred to him as her father, ever since he had rescued her from her doomed planet.

Gustav smiled warmly, catching her in a light embrace as she flung herself at him. ”Sersi, itʼs good to see you,” he questioned with a soft tone. ”How have you been?”

Sersi grinned up at him, barely able to contain her excitement. ”Schoolʼs been fine, I guess. But itʼs Earth! I love it here! Though I missed you a lot. Youʼve been gone for so long!”

Gustav ruffled her hair playfully, his smile widening. ”Itʼs good to see youʼre settling in.”
