His eyes flashed with a faint golden glow as he turned around; ”Sheʼll be fine.”

Ellias moved towards Lena and placed his hand on her belly. The midwives didnʼt notice but a strand of energy phased out of Elias at that moment and infiltrated Lena insides.

The tension in the room built as the labor progressed. Suddenly, a sharp cry filled the room—the cry of a newborn.

Lena collapsed back, exhausted but relieved as tears streamed down her face. She didnʼt know where the energy to push came from but she couldnʼt be more thankful now for it.

Elias carefully lifted the child, a healthy baby boy, and placed him in her arms.

As Elias watched the newborn take his first breath, his tiny chest rising and falling with the effort of life, a deep, unexpected emotion stirred within him.

The room was quiet now except for the soft cries of the baby and the gentle murmurs of the midwife and attendants.

Lena was exhausted but glowing with the radiant energy of a new mother as Elias handed her her son who she held close while her eyes were filled with tears of relief and joy.

Elias stood to side while his usually composed face softened with an expression that was almost... wistful.

For a being like him—the Outworldly—birth was not a mystery. He had seen countless forms of creation across the cosmos.

He knew how stars were born, how planets came to life, how even gods and deities manifested from the fabric of existence itself. His own creation had been a confluence of divine and mortal essences, a strategic blend of powers beyond comprehension.

Yet, seeing the birth of a human child, fragile and pure, stirred something deep within him.

He thought to himself, ʼThis is so sacred. So... beautiful.ʼ The simplicity of it struck him in ways he had not anticipated.

Humans, with their short lives and their endless cycles of struggle and hope, had a way of finding the sacred in the mundane. And as he watched the infantʼs tiny fingers curl and uncurl, his heart ached for something he had never truly known—a life that was not burdened by cosmic knowledge or the weight of omnipotence.

ʼWhat would it be like to live like them?ʼ he wondered. To not be bound by the laws of divine decree or the endless responsibilities of maintaining universal balance. To simply live, love, and grow old.

Elias remained at the estate, watching over Lena and the newborn child. Days passed, and he found himself captivated by the little moments—the babyʼs first smile, Lenaʼs exhausted but gentle lullabies, the way the morning light filtered through the nursery windows and cast warm patterns on the walls.

Each moment seemed to hold a universe of its own, an intimacy and sacredness that felt more profound than any celestial event.

A week later, Oslov finally returned, weary but triumphant. When he laid eyes on his son for the first time, his face crumpled with emotion. ”My boy,” he whispered while tears streamed down his face as he reached out to touch the babyʼs soft cheek. ”My son.”

The joy in his voice was unmistakable, and Elias felt a deep pang of something he couldnʼt quite name—was it envy? Longing? Perhaps both. How would it feel to have a father or a mother?

Oslov turned to Elias as his eyes brimmed with gratitude. ”Thank you, Elias. Thank you for being here, for taking care of Lena and our child. I cannot express how much this means to me.”

Elias nodded with a gentle but distant smile. ”Iʼm glad I could help, Oslov. But now, I must take my leave.”

Oslovʼs face fell. ”Leave? But youʼve become like family to us, Elias. Stay, at least a little longer.”

Elias shook his head. He could no longer ignore his cosmic duties. ”There are things I must attend to, Oslov. Important matters that cannot wait.” He reached out, clasping Oslovʼs shoulder firmly. ”But know that you and your family will always have a special place in my heart.”

Reluctantly, Oslov nodded. ”If you must go, then go. But you will always be welcome here, my friend.”

With a final farewell, Elias stepped out of the estate and vanished into the skies. Once he reached the void of outer space, he shed his human guise and returned to his true form—the Outworldly.

His presence expanded, stretching across the cosmos as he regained his full power. He became omnipresent causing his consciousness to split across dimensions as he sought out each of the deities.

They had returned to their domains by this time, and as the Outworldly appeared before each of them, they all wore expressions of feigned welcome and indifference.

In his many forms, the Outworldly spoke to them all at once. His voice was a harmonious blend of authority and curiosity. ”Where have you been?” he questioned. ”For a time, I could not sense your presence in your respective domains. Why?”

Some of the deities tried to play it off. Nocturnis shadowy form flickered like a dying star as smirked and replied, ”Perhaps youʼre not as powerful as you think, Outworldly. Or perhaps we simply wished to take some time away from your watchful gaze.”

Ignara flames simmered with a contained fury as she scoffed. ”Do we not have the freedom to come and go as we please? Must we report every moment to you?”

The Outworldlyʼs expression remained calm as his many faces maintained a facade of serenity. ”You know the balance must be kept,” he said. ”And I must ensure that it is so.”

Despite his probing, none of the deities gave away anything about their secret meeting with the humanoid deity.

The Outworldly, even with his abilities to sense thoughts and intentions, found nothing out of the ordinary. Their minds were not shielded but their thoughts veiled hinted at nothing that had happened.

When he finally left them, Nocturnis stared down at the stone in his grasp—a dark, crystalline object that seemed to pulse with an eerie energy. ”It worked,” he murmured while a sinister smile spread across his shadowy face. ”He couldnʼt perceive our true thoughts. That minor deity was right.”

The revelation had a ripple effect among the other deities. Each of them had been given a similar stone by the humanoid deity, a mythical item that cloaked their real thoughts from the Outworldlyʼs perception.

The realization sank in that they now had a means to hide their plans from him.

”Outworldly,” Ignara muttered under her breath, her eyes burning with malice, ”youʼre finished.”

The deities couldnʼt help but recall the plans that the humanoid deity had revealed to them.

A method to strip the Outworldly of his power and transfer it to another—him. Though the idea had initially incensed them, the humanoid deity had convinced them that without his leadership, any attempt would be doomed to failure. Now, all they had to do was wait for the right moment.

---

Far from the deitiesʼ scheming, the Outworldly returned to his endless vigil over the cosmos. His senses remained on high alert, the nagging suspicion that something was amiss never quite leaving him.

Despite his omnipresence, he felt a strange, unsettling void—a place where his perception did not reach.

He even visited the Overseer, the supreme being who existed above the deities and was only second to him in terms of power.

The Overseerʼs dimension was a dream like realm where space folded upon itself in endless loops, stars burned cold, and colors defied understanding.

The Overseer, a being of immense stature whose presence was both feminine and masculine, regarded the Outworldly with a serene expression.

”All is well,” the Overseer assured him with a multitude of voice tones that sounded both male and female, both aged and young, both vibrant and aloof.

”The deities have been restless, but there is nothing beyond the ordinary.”

As the Outworldly conversed with the Overseer, another presence entered the dimension—the Overseerʼs daughter, a minor deity named Selara.

She was a figure of grace and mystery, with long flowing hair that shimmered like a nebula and eyes that held galaxies within them.

Selara glanced at the Outworldly with a coy smile. ”Outworldly,” she greeted, her voice a melodious whisper that carried a hidden weight. ”It is rare to see you here. What troubles you so?”

The Outworldly, sensing nothing unusual in her demeanor, simply replied, ”I am ensuring that all remains in balance. Some things have eluded my perception, and I must be certain.”

The Overseer nodded in agreement, but Selaraʼs smile deepened slightly. She knew more than she let on—she was privy to the humanoid deityʼs plans and had her own role to play in the unfolding drama.

After the Outworldly left, Selara turned to her father while voicing in a serious tone; ”Father, the time is approaching. That minor deity has set things in motion that even the Outworldly cannot see. He senses something is wrong, but he does not yet know the depth of what is to come.”
