Nocturnis, the Lord of Darkness and Shadows, had not been purged like the other deities. He had sealed himself away in his own dark dimension, and while Ellias had reinforced that seal, it had not been enough to prevent Nocturnis and his minions from trying to weaken it in the last twenty thousand years.

”Nocturnis not getting purged…” Gustav whispered to himself.

”Thatʼs the reason. Thatʼs why the universe is in danger.”

A cold shiver ran down his spine as he realized the magnitude of the situation. Nocturnis, hidden away in his dimension, had still managed to exert his influence. And even created Falco—his son—

Technically, Falco was the son of a Deity. The son of the Lord of Darkness and Shadows.

Gustavʼs mind raced with possibilities, but one thing was clear: if the universe was to be saved, Nocturnis would have to be dealt with once and for all.

Gustav thoughts raced as the memories of his true origin as the Outworldly slowly settled into place. The revelation had come like a tidal wave, crashing into his mind and reshaping everything he thought he knew about himself. But with that knowledge came a sense of clarity, and a renewed purpose.

As his mind replayed the events leading up to this moment, his thoughts lingered on Miss Aimee.

The woman who had trained him, pushed him beyond his limits, and, in many ways, shaped the person he had become. He remembered the way she would look at him with that mischievous glint in her eyes, pushing him to break through barriers he didnʼt know existed, all while managing to make him laugh during their toughest moments.

Gustav clenched his fist as the memories of her sacrifice played in his mind. Her final moments had been burned into his mind—how she had given everything to ensure that he would get into Dimension Six.

”Miss Aimee…” he whispered with a sorrowful tome.

”I will bring her back once I regain my full Outworldly powers!” Gustav eyes burned with resolve as he raised his head.

There was no doubt in his mind. He had come this far, and now that he knew the truth, there was no turning back. He owed it to Miss Aimee, to everything she had sacrificed for him. And he owed it to himself—to fully embrace who he truly was.

But the present demanded his attention. The seal was cracking. The one holding back Nocturnis and his dark forces. Gustav could feel it now, like a faint tremor on the edge of his consciousness. It wouldnʼt be long before Nocturnis and his minions would be free to walk the mortal plane once again.

”If I had my full powers…” Gustav muttered, ”I could repair the seal. But I donʼt.”

Without his complete Outworldly abilities, there was plenty he couldnʼt do. But then, as his mind worked through the possibilities, pieces began to fall into place.

His eyes narrowed as the realization hit him. There was a larger plot at play—something that went beyond just the seal or Nocturnisʼs minions.

Nocturnis had always feared him. Even when Gustav had been unaware of his true identity, Nocturnisʼs servants—the death angels, dark servants—had given his demise high priority once they made contact.

Gustav had thought he was merely fighting to survive. But now, he understood the real reason behind those relentless attacks to destroy the Outworldly.

Nocturnis had always known the danger of the Outworldly regaining his full power. That was why he had tried to kill Gustav, to stop him before he could become a true threat.

But the most disturbing part of the puzzle clicked into place: Nocturnis was planning to free the Overseer.

The thought sent a chill down Gustavʼs spine. The Overseer was the only being in existence who could even remotely challenge the Outworldly. Nocturnis knew that if Gustav ever regained his full powers, his plans would be destroyed. And so, the dark deityʼs strategy had always been to unleash the Overseer as soon as the seal broke.

”Nocturnis wants to release the Overseer to use him against me,” Gustav quietly murmured in realisation. ”Thatʼs his real plan.”

It made sense now. Nocturnis was no doubt immensely powerful and none in their universe would be able to contend with him but the Outworldly was just on another level.

All of the deities had gone against him and still lost despite doing it together. There was no way he believed he could beat the Outworldly alone.

Although Gustav right now was far from being what he used to be.

He still needed more answers.

There were still three major pieces missing: the origin of the Time Candidates, how to regain his full Outworldly abilities, and the origin of the system that had helped him gain strength as a mortal.

Since he knew everything about his origin now, he was sure that the existence of the Time Candidates had nothing to do with deities. Which had him wondering how exactly they came to be.

He glanced around the dimension, the swirling energies of Dimension Six shifting around him like a living thing. ”I need to know about the Time Candidates,” he said aloud, steeling himself to request the next answer from the construct. ”Thatʼs the next step.”

But just as the words left his lips, the air around him shimmered. The swirling energies of Dimension Six pulsed, and a sudden wave of light filled the space.

Gustavʼs breath caught in his throat as the light coalesced, forming into the shape of a woman—a large, ethereal projection of a figure glowing with radiant energy.

Gustavʼs eyes widened in disbelief. It was Miss Aimee.

”Miss Aimee…” he whispered as he took a step forward.

The projection of Miss Aimee stood before him, her presence both familiar and otherworldly. She looked almost exactly as he remembered her—strong, confident, with that same fire in her eyes. But there was something different about her now, something more… surreal. More a part of Dimension Six itself.

”Hey kiddo,” her voice rang out, soft yet firm, echoing slightly in the vastness of the dimension. ”You donʼt have much time.”

Gustavʼs mind was reeling. ”Miss Aimee… what are you—?”

She raised a hand, cutting him off gently but firmly. ”Iʼve fully merged with the sentience of Dimension Six,” she explained quickly. ”And thereʼs no time to explain everything.”

Gustav frowned in confusion. ”What do you mean? Whatʼs happening?”

”Thereʼs trouble,” she said urgently, her voice growing more intense. ”Something is happening outside of here already, Gustav. You donʼt have time to request answers about the Time Candidates or anything else. The situation is worse than you know.”

Gustavʼs face scrunched up in worry. ”What kind of trouble? Whatʼs happening?”

Miss Aimeeʼs projection flickered slightly, as if she were struggling to maintain her form. ”Youʼre running out of time here and things are happening out there.”

Gustav clenched his fists as his eyes turned cold. ”Looks like itʼs time to go.”

”Hold on,” Miss Aimee interrupted. ”You need to ask the dimension to show you how to regain your full Outworldly abilities.”

Gustavʼs mind was spinning, trying to process everything. ”And what about the Time Candidates? And the system—”

”Thereʼs no time!” Miss Aimeeʼs voice cut through the confusion, sharp and urgent. ”If you donʼt regain your powers as soon as possible, Nocturnis will break the seal, and he will release the Overseer. If that happens, the universe as we know it, will be in jeopardy.”

If Nocturnis freed the Overseer, the universe would be plunged into chaos. The Overseer would not be able to forgive him for all the times he spent sealed and the purging of his daughter. He couldnʼt afford to waste time chasing answers that wouldnʼt help him in the immediate battle.

”What do I need to do?” Gustav muttered.

Miss Aimeeʼs projection flickered again, her form dimming slightly. ”Ask the dimension to show you how to regain your full power,” she stated. ”Once you do that, you need to leave Dimension Six immediately.”

Gustav nodded. ”I understand.”

Miss Aimeeʼs lips curved into a faint, proud smile. ”Youʼve come so far, Gustav. I always knew you would.”

Gustavʼs heart clenched at her words, but he forced himself to focus. ”I wonʼt fail, Miss Aimee,” he said quietly. ”After all of this is over, Iʼll bring you back. I swear it.”

The projection of Miss Aimee began to fade, her form dissolving into the surrounding energies of Dimension Six. ”Remember,” her voice echoed, growing softer with each word. ”You donʼt have much time…”

And with that, she was gone.

There was no more time to delay. He needed to know how to get his full power—now.

With a loud tone, he called out to the dimension. ”Show me how to regain my full Outworldly abilities.”

The air around him shifted once more as the energies of Dimension Six responded to his demamd. Light began to coalesce around him...
