Chapter 1570: Returning To Existence

The new Outworldly worked tirelessly as his immense form hovered over the cosmic web that stretched across the universe.

His power pulsed like the heartbeat of a star, his hands moving through the very fabric of space as he methodically unraveled the dimensional webs.

With each thread he severed, the cosmos shivered, and the fragile balance that once protected mortal worlds grew weaker. The deities watched from afar, knowing that soon they would be free to unleash their unrestrained might upon the universe.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the Oslov estate remained shrouded in an uneasy quiet. Inside the guest room, Elias lay in a deep, unnatural slumber.

For weeks now, he had been like this—unconscious, as if suspended between life and death. Oslov, ever the loyal friend, refused to leave his side, spending hours in the room by Eliasʼs bed, speaking to him, reading aloud, and trying every possible means to bring him back.

Late one night, as Oslov sat slumped in a chair beside Elias, exhaustion finally overcame him, and he drifted into a restless sleep.

His dreams were vivid, filled with swirling colors and a strange, echoing voice that sounded distant yet familiar.

”Oslov... Oslov...” The voice called to him, resonating through the void of his subconscious.

He turned as his dream self wandered through a misty landscape. ”Elias?” he called out, his voice trembling with hope and confusion. ”Is that you?”

”Yes, it is me,” the voice replied, clearer this time, but still ethereal. ”You must take my body to a place, a place hidden from the eyes of the world... a place where the veil between realities is thin.”

Oslov felt his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to grasp the message. ”Where? Where must I take you?”

A vague image flashed before him—a mountain, shrouded in mist, with a dark cave entrance hundreds of feet up. ”There... find the cave on the mountainside,” the voice continued. ”Place my body there if you wish to save me.”

Oslov jolted awake with his body drenched in sweat. He glanced over at Elias, still lying there, unchanged. For a moment, he was unsure if what he had heard was real or just a desperate fabrication of his mind.

ʼWhat was that? A dream?ʼ he wondered. Or was he simply losing his sanity, consumed by worry and grief?

But the dreams continued. Night after night, the same voice spoke to him, each time more insistent, more urgent.

The dream grew clearer—the same mountainside, the same cave. Each time, the message was the same: ”Bring me there, Oslov.”

After many days of hearing the same message, Oslov finally decided he could not ignore it any longer. During breakfast one morning, he brought it up with his wife, Lena.

”I know it sounds absurd,” he said, his eyes heavy with sleeplessness and his voice hoarse from anxiety, ”but Iʼve been having these dreams. Elias appears and he keeps telling me to take him to a certain place. I think… I think I need to try. The doctors canʼt do anything for him. Maybe thereʼs something there, some… hope.”

Lena looked at him with concern, her expression softening with empathy. ”Iʼve seen how much this is weighing on you,” she said quietly, placing a reassuring hand on his arm. ”If you think this is what you need to do, to have peace of mind, then I support you. Just promise me youʼll be safe.”

Oslov nodded, feeling a swell of relief. ”Thank you, Lena. I promise.”

And so, preparations were made. Oslov arranged for a small entourage to accompany him on this uncertain journey—a few trusted servants, a medic, and a guide who knew the remote regions of Earth well.

They loaded Eliasʼs unconscious body onto a specially designed stretcher, secured to ensure safe passage, and began their long trek toward the mountains that haunted Oslovʼs dreams.

---

After several days of arduous travel across vast landscapes—plains, forests, and valleys—they finally arrived at the secluded mountainside that Oslov had seen in his visions.

The mountain stood before them with its peaks hidden by a thick veil of mist. It was imposing and strangely serene, as if untouched by the passage of time.

Oslov felt a chill run down his spine as he stared up at the towering cliffs. ”This is the place,” he murmured, his voice barely more than a whisper. ”This is the exact location that appears in my dreams.”

The guide, a seasoned mountaineer with a weathered face, pointed toward a narrow path that snaked up the mountainʼs side. ”The only way up is there,” he said. ”Itʼs steep and dangerous, especially with the stretcher.”

Determined, Oslov nodded. ”Weʼll take it slow. We must get him up there.”

The ascent was grueling. The narrow path hugged the cliffs, winding its way upward with treacherous drops on either side.

Loose rocks clattered down the slope with every step, and the mist made visibility difficult. The wind picked up as they climbed, howling through the rocks like the voices of restless spirits.

After what felt like hours, they reached a wide ledge hundreds of feet up. Ahead of them was the entrance to a cave.

Itʼs dark maw was agape like a mouth waiting to swallow them whole. Inside, faint echoes could be heard, like the whisperings of ancient secrets.

”This must be it,” Oslov said as his heart pounded. ”Bring him inside.”

The entourage carefully carried Eliasʼs body into the cave, where the air grew cooler and more still.

As they ventured deeper, they saw something unusual—a stone altar, intricately carved with symbols that seemed to shift and change when looked at directly. Behind it stood a large statue, depicting a robed figure with outstretched hands and a face shrouded in shadow.

Oslov felt a strange energy emanating from the altar, a force that seemed to buzz with an almost musical frequency. ”Place him here,” he instructed, pointing to the flat surface of the altar.

As soon as Eliasʼs body was laid upon the stone, a low rumble began to fill the cave, resonating from the ground up. The symbols on the altar started to glow, their light pulsating like a heartbeat.

An indescribable energy filled the surroundings and the statue seemed to shift, as if coming to life.

”Whatʼs happening?” one of the servants whispered, fear creeping into his voice.

Oslov stood firm, his eyes locked on Elias. ”I donʼt know… but something is happening.”

Suddenly, a brilliant light burst forth from the statueʼs outstretched hands, bathing the entire cave in a radiant glow. The air crackled with power, and the ground trembled as if the mountain itself were awakening. The light flowed into Elias, enveloping his body like a cocoon.

The cave seemed to pulse with life as Eliasʼs body began to stir. His chest rose and fell with a deep breath, and his fingers twitched as if grasping for something unseen. The brilliance intensified, blinding everyone present, and then—just as suddenly as it had begun—the light vanished, leaving the cave in darkness once more.

A soft gasp broke the silence. Eliasʼs eyes fluttered open, his gaze sharp and clear, as if waking from a long, profound sleep. He sat up slowly, his body weak but his spirit undeniably present.

”Elias!” Oslov exclaimed, rushing to his side, his face a mixture of relief and overwhelming joy. ”Youʼre awake! I canʼt believe it… youʼre awake!”

Elias looked around, his expression calm yet contemplative. ”Yes,” he said softly, his voice carrying a gravity that seemed to echo off the cave walls. ”I am back, thanks to you, Oslov. You heard my call.”

Oslovʼs eyes filled with tears as his voice trembled. ”I thought I was losing my mind… but I couldnʼt give up on you.”

Elias reached out and clasped Oslovʼs hand firmly. ”You have done more than I could have asked for. You brought me back when no one else could. And for that, I am forever grateful.”

”Iʼm glad youʼre back even though I have no idea what I just witnessed,” Olsov said with a look of relief.

Elias eyes were filled with a rare warmth. ”I was far away, but not gone. There are still many things left to do, and dangers that lurk closer than we know.”

Oslov, still holding Eliasʼs hand, looked at him in confusion. ”Elias… Whatʼs going on? What dangers?”

Eliasʼs gaze turned serious, his eyes reflecting a depth of knowledge and an awareness of things unseen. ”The balance has been broken,” he said slowly. ”A being who has acquired the power of the Outworldly is unraveling the protections that keep this world and many others safe.

I was not meant to return… but I long sensed that something was amiss so I put things in place to make sure I would never be completely gone if things went awry.”

The room fell silent as they pondered what exactly Ellias was talking about. Up until a minute ago, they would have thought he was depraved but with what they had witnessed, there was no doubt that forces beyond their understanding was at play.

”What do we need to do?” Oslov asked with a calm voice despite the fear in his eyes.

Elias stood with shaky legs but unparalleled resolve.

”I need to gain my strength back.”
