Oslovʼs eyes widened, his hands gripping the arms of his chair. ”What do you mean? You were… different. You couldnʼt age, you couldnʼt die. How can your time be up?”

Ellias exhaled slowly. ”I was different, yes. But Iʼve given all of that up. Iʼm no longer what I was. Iʼve sealed away most of my powers, given up my immortality. Iʼve become mortal, just like you.

And I have only a few weeks left.”

A long silence settled between them, broken only by the distant sounds of the village. Oslovʼs hands shook as he processed Elliasʼs words. ”Weeks? But why? Why would you give all that up?”

”I had to,” Ellias replied, his voice tinged with sorrow. ”There was a battle—one that nearly destroyed the cosmos. I faced a powerful being and in the end, I sealed him away. But the cost was high. He struck me with a corrupting blow, one that would have consumed me had I not relinquished my powers. I couldnʼt risk becoming a threat to the universe.

This was the only way.”

Oslov nodded slowly, though his expression was one of deep sadness. ”So this is the end for you,” he said softly.

Ellias reached out and placed a hand on Oslovʼs shoulder. ”Not the end. Just a new beginning. I will return one day, but not as I am now. I will be reborn, as an earthling. And when that time comes, I would like to be born from your bloodline.”

Oslovʼs eyes filled with tears, and he swallowed hard, his voice catching in his throat. ”Ellias… you want to be part of my family? Is that even possible?”

Ellias smiled gently, nodding. ”Yes, Oslov. Your bloodline carries strength, wisdom, and kindness. I could think of no better family to be reborn into.”

A tear slipped down Oslovʼs weathered cheek as he looked at his old friend, who had walked the line between mortal and celestial, and now stood on the precipice of death, not as a god, but as a man. ”I donʼt know what to say,” Oslov whispered. ”Youʼre already family to me. Thank you for your kind words.”

Ellias squeezed Oslovʼs shoulder. ”Thereʼs nothing more to say, old friend. I only ask that you live your life to the fullest. Pass on your stories, your wisdom. And when the time comes, I will return.”

Oslov nodded. ”I will, Ellias. I will.”

Days went by and the two friends often met at the same spot every day to chat for a prolonged period of time.

Today was no different...

The two men sat in silence while watching as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the land.

The air was calm, the sky turning shades of purple and orange as night approached. For a brief moment, it was as if time stood still, and everything else faded into the background.

Eventually, Oslov spoke again, his voice quiet and filled with gratitude. ”Thank you, Ellias. For everything.”

Ellias smiled, though there was a sadness in his eyes. ”Thank you, Oslov. For being my friend. My journey is almost over, but yours is still going. Cherish it.”

The cool breeze of twilight swept gently across the grassy hills as Ellias and Oslov sat together outside the old manʼs cottage. The village was quiet, with only the distant sounds of the townspeople closing their shops and returning to their homes.

The two friends sat in a comfortable silence for an extended time.

Oslov hands restedon his walking stick as he looked at Ellias with sadness and confusion. ”You speak of returning one day,” Oslov said, his voice soft, yet tinged with curiosity. ”But how can that be? As you mentioned, youʼve stripped yourself of your powers.”

Ellias nodded as a gentle smile crossed his face. ”Death is not the end for me, Oslov,” he replied. ”Iʼve ensured that the universe will bring me back, but not as the being I once was. Iʼve set things in motion that will allow me to return, one day, as an earthling. When the time is right, and if the universe requires it, I shall be reborn.”

Oslov blinked, his mind struggling to grasp the enormity of what Ellias was saying. ”Reborn?” he asked, incredulity creeping into his tone. ”You mean to come back... as a mortal again? Why would you even choose that?”

Ellias leaned back slightly, his eyes tracing the horizon as the sun dipped lower. ”Iʼve seen more than most beings could ever imagine,” he said quietly. ”Iʼve touched the edges of existence, shaped the cosmos, fought battles that could have undone reality itself. But there is something beautiful in mortality, Oslov. Something pure.

To live as a human, to experience life in its fleeting moments, to be bound by time… there is value in that.”

Oslovʼs wrinkled face softened, understanding slowly dawning. ”Hmm, you want to experience it,” he said, more a statement than a question.

Ellias smiled again, nodding. ”In a way, yes. Mortality is not a weakness, Oslov. Itʼs a gift. One that allows us to appreciate the time we have, to make each moment meaningful. Iʼve been alive for tens of thousands of years...

thereʼs nothing to it except inescapable loneliness.”

Oslov sighed, looking down at his frail hands. ”And when you return… what then? What will you do?”

Elliasʼs gaze grew distant, as though he were looking far beyond the present moment. ”I donʼt know,” he admitted. ”But if the universe ever finds itself in need of saving once again, Iʼll be there. Somehow, in some form, I will return.”

A silence settled between them, peaceful yet profound. The sun had almost disappeared, casting long shadows across the village, the sky painted in hues of orange and purple. Oslov cleared his throat. ”Iʼve lived a long life, Ellias. I wonʼt be here when you come back, but… itʼs comforting to know that your story isnʼt over.”

Ellias placed a hand on Oslovʼs shoulder, a gesture of friendship and solidarity. ”Youʼll be remembered, Oslov,” he said softly. ”Your bloodline will continue, and when I return, I hope to be a part of it.”

”Itʼs an honor… to know youʼll live on through my family,” Oslov voiced.

They sat together for a while longer, watching the stars begin to emerge in the darkening sky. Eventually, Ellias stood, his movements slow and deliberate. ”Itʼs time,” he announced.

Oslov looked up at him, his eyes filled with both sorrow and gratitude. ”Goodbye, Ellias. May your journey be peaceful.”

Ellias smiled warmly. ”Goodbye, Oslov. Until we meet again.”

With that, Ellias turned and walked away, leaving the village behind as he began his final journey across the Earth.

He wandered through dense forests, climbed towering mountains, and crossed rivers that glittered under the moonlight. The world was still in a medieval age, simple and untamed, but Ellias found beauty in every corner of it.

The sight of villages bustling with life, the smell of fresh earth after the rain, the warmth of the sun on his face—all of it felt more precious now, knowing that his time was short.

”Should the universe ever need saving, I shall return,” he whispered to the wind as he walked through meadows and fields with light steps.

The construct within Dimension Six shifted, the surroundings morphing and dissolving as the final pieces of Elliasʼs story came to a close. The ethereal threads of the ancient tale faded into the background, replaced by the quiet vibration of the dimension. In the middle of it all stood Gustav, his expression one of quiet understanding.

He had been silent throughout the recounting of the events that transpired with Ellias and the deities, but now, as the story ended and the world around him returned to norma, realization settled heavily on his shoulders.

”So,” Gustav muttered to himself, his voice low and thoughtful, ”I am the Outworldly reborn... Oslov probably didnʼt know that this is how his family would turn out.”

The truth had unraveled before him like a display of memories, pieces of his past and present merging with the knowledge of who he truly was. The battle with the deities, the weaving of the cosmic webs, the final confrontation with the Overseer—it was all starting to make sense now.

”I understand,” he said softly, his voice echoing slightly in the vast, empty space of Dimension Six.

The puzzle pieces had finally clicked into place. Gustav wasnʼt just an ordinary being, nor was he simply an extension of the Outworldly. He was HIM. A reincarnation, brought back by the very mechanisms Ellias had put into motion long ago. His existence had purpose, one that stretched far beyond the limits of mortal understanding.

But there was something else—something that made his heart quicken with dread and realization.

”Falcoʼs father…” Gustav murmured, his eyes widening slightly. The name came to him, chilling him to the core. ”Nocturnis.”

The name echoed in his mind like a dark omen. It all made sense now—the reason for the universeʼs current jeopardy, the instability that had been creeping into the fabric of reality.
