The humanoid deity approached with the same calm determination. ”Ignara, I have come to request that you meet with Nocturnis, the Lord of darkness, to discuss the ongoing conflicts between your domains.”

Ignaraʼs flames flared with indignation, her voice a roar of fury. ”You dare ask me to meet with that despicable creature of darkness? His very existence is an insult to my flames. There is nothing to discuss. Our natures are in eternal conflict.”

The humanoid deity knew that Ignara was even more stubborn than Nocturnis. He had to be careful in his approach. ”Ignara, your flames are a force of creation and destruction. They shape worlds and bring forth life. But they also have the power to devastate. The balance of the cosmos is at risk, and I ask you to consider the impact of your actions.”

Ignaraʼs eyes burned with a fierce light. ”My flames are a part of the natural order. They do not need to be tempered or restrained. Nocturnisʼs darkness seek to extinguish my light, and I will not allow that to happen.”

The humanoid deity decided to appeal to Ignaraʼs pride in her strength and her role as a creator. ”Ignara, your power is undeniable. You are a force of nature, and your flames have brought forth countless worlds. But true strength lies not only in destruction but in the ability to create harmony.

By agreeing to meet with Nocturnis, you will show that your power is not only unmatched but also wise and far-seeing.”

Ignaraʼs flames flickered, her eyes narrowing as she considered his words. ”You speak of harmony, but what does that mean to me? My flames are meant to burn, to consume, and to forge.”

The humanoid deity took a deep breath. ”By meeting with Nocturnis, you will demonstrate that your flames are more than just a tool of destruction. You will show that you are not afraid of the dark and that you are superior. If you fail to meet with him, he will believe youʼre weaker.”

Ignaraʼs flames flared again, but this time with a different energy—one of contemplation. ”Very well. I will meet with Nocturnis, not because I seek peace, but because I will show him that my flames cannot be extinguished.”

The humanoid deity bowed respectfully. ”That is all I ask, Ignara. Thank you.”

The projection shifted once more, and Gustav found himself in a neutral realm, a place of twilight where neither shadows nor flames held sway. The humanoid deity stood at the center of a large, round table, waiting as Nocturnis and Ignara approached from opposite sides.

The tension in the air was high and Gustav could feel the animosity radiating from both deities as they took their seats. Nocturnisʼs form was a dark, brooding mass of shadows, while Ignaraʼs presence was a blazing inferno of flames. They stared at each other with undisguised contempt.

The humanoid deity knew that the situation was delicate. ”Thank you both for agreeing to this meeting,” he began, his voice calm and measured. ”I understand that your domains are in opposition, but we are here to discuss how we can move forward in a way that maintains the balance of the cosmos.”

Nocturnisʼs eyes narrowed, his voice a low growl. ”There is nothing to discuss. Our natures are in conflict. It is only a matter of time before one of us destroys the other.”

Ignaraʼs flames flared in agreement. ”My flames will consume his shadows. There can be no compromise.”

The humanoid deity raised his hands in a gesture of peace. ”I am not asking for compromise. I am asking for understanding. Both of you are powerful forces in the cosmos, and both of your domains are essential to the balance of existence. But if your conflicts continue unchecked, the damage will be irreversible.”

Nocturnis leaned forward, his shadowy form darkening. ”And what do you propose, minor deity? That we simply cease our battles and allow each other to exist? That is not possible.”

”Indeed it isnʼt! There is no remedy to our disparities!” Ignara stood to her feet with a look of contempt.

The humanoid deity took a deep breath, his mind racing. ”I propose that you consider the impact of your actions on the cosmos as a whole. Your battles are tearing apart the fabric of reality and the mortals are always bearing the brunt of it,”

”We care for no mortals!”

They both yelled at the same time then turned to gaze at each other.

”On that we agree,” Ignara stated.

”Indeed we do,” Nocturnis added before they both turned around to leave.

The humanoid deity shook his head in disappointment but there was a certain glee in his expression.

He wasnʼt expecting this meeting to bear any fruit. Just by bringing them together, he already won.

Now the overseer would have to keep to the end of their bargain.

Gustav continued to watch intently as the projection from Dimension Six unfolded before him.

The humanoid deityʼs victory over the Overseer had set the stage for a crucial moment in the history of the cosmos.

The scene shifted to a grand celestial assembly, where all the deities were gathered, their forms towering and majestic, each one embodying a different aspect of existence.

At the center of this assembly stood the Overseer, their form a mesmerizing blend of divine light and shadow, exuding an aura of absolute authority.

The Overseer raised their hand, calling the assembly to order. Their voice echoed through the vast expanse, resonating with a power that silenced all other voices. ”Deities of the cosmos, I have called you here to address a matter of utmost importance. It is time for us to reconsider our actions and the impact they have on the mortals we govern.”

A murmur of discontent rippled through the assembly. The dark lord, Nocturnis, with his swirling mass of shadows, stepped forward, his eyes burning with defiance. ”Why should we concern ourselves with the lives of mortals? They are insignificant compared to our power and eternal existence.”

Ignara nodded in agreement. Her mane of flames crackled with intensity as she spoke. ”We are the embodiments of creation and destruction. To bind us with concerns for mortals is to deny our very nature.”

The Overseerʼs gaze remained steady. ”Your unchecked conflicts have brought the mortals immense suffering. Consider the balance of the cosmos and the well-being of all its inhabitants.”

A deity composed of shimmering water and ethereal light, Oceana, added her voice to the dissent. ”Our power is boundless, and our actions are part of the cosmic cycle. Mortals are but a small part of that cycle.”

The humanoid deity, his presence radiant with determination, stepped forward. ”It is precisely because of our power that we have a responsibility to protect those who look to us for guidance. Our actions have consequences, and we must ensure that we do not bring harm to those who inhabit the worlds we govern.”

Chatter! Chatter! Chatter!

The deities were not having it. They didnʼt want things to change in the slightest.

The Overseer raised a hand to silence the growing dissent. ”You have all expressed your views, but I propose a solution that will address our concerns and maintain the balance. We shall perform a ritual—a sacrifice of our own essence—to bring forth a being who will supercede even myself as the Overseer.”

The overseer paused and stared briefly in the direction of the humanoid deity. They already had this conversation in private. The humanoid deity knew that this was how the meeting would go so he has proposed this option.

He had it in mind from the start but knew that only the Overseer would have the authority to implement it.

”This being will be known as the Outworldly... They will determine the fate of the mortals and guide our actions,” The overseer added.

A wave of curiosity and skepticism washed over the assembly. The dark lord narrowed his eyes, suspicion evident in his voice. ”And why should we agree to this ritual? What guarantees do we have that this Outworldly will not be biased against us?”

The Overseerʼs gaze was unwavering. ”The Outworldly will be born from our combined essence, embodying the traits of all deities. This being will understand the balance of creation and destruction and will have the authority to guide our actions. It is the only way to ensure fairness and balance.”

The deities exchanged glances and from the look of their expressions, they didnʼt seem to entirely dislike this suggestion.

Ignara finally spoke with grudging acceptance. ”Very well, Overseer. We shall participate in this ritual. But know this—we will not be bound by the whims of a single being, even if it is born from our essence. It will definitely be in accordance with our views.”

The assembly agreed, each deity convinced that any being born of their blood would naturally align with their perspectives.

They gathered in a grand circle, and with a wave of the Overseerʼs hand, a massive chalice appeared in the center, shimmering with an ethereal light.

The Overseer spoke with authority. ”Each of you will sacrifice a drop of your blood into this chalice. Together, we shall create the Outworldly, who will guide our actions and determine the fate of mortals.”
