Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong looked at his assistant lying on the ground, frothing at the mouth. He then turned to the beautiful Yu Lan, who was convulsing. As for the beautiful Xuelian, lying on the far side, she was in slightly better condition than the other two, but her face was sallow and she looked ill. Looking at the three of them on the ground, Zhao Rong was deeply worried.

Miss Lili leaped over and threw herself onto Yu Lan and Xuelian, crying, ”My dear sisters, ever since we met at the Manager Training Center, we’ve been following Brother Zhao Rong through thick and thin, wandering the world…

”We learned how to be managers at the Manager Training Center…

”We learned how to cultivate at the True Martial Sect…

”We became top students at Xijing University…

”We learned how to hunt ghosts at the Ghost Hunting Academy…

”Our next step was to go to the sports academy to study athletics and try to become Olympic champions. How could you two suddenly collapse like this?”

At this moment, Wang Huazi, the Ghost King, said softly from the side, ”Being exposed to a strong magnetic field is not so terrible. As long as you can concoct an elixir called the ’Elixir of Terror,’ you can save all three of them…”

Hearing of such a strangely named elixir, Zhao Rong immediately asked Wang Huazi, ”How do you concoct the Elixir of Terror? What ingredients does it need? Tell me quickly. I’ll make it right now and save my three teammates…”

Seeing how anxious Zhao Rong was, Huazi hurriedly explained, ”Actually, the so-called ’Elixir of Terror,’ despite its frightening name, is quite simple to make. All you need is a handful of weeds and a handful of salt.”

Zhao Rong was stunned to hear that the ingredients were so bizarre. He looked at Wang Huazi and said, ”Huazi, you may be a Ghost King, but you don’t seem to be an Alchemist, are you? Are you sure the recipe you gave me is correct?”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s doubt, Huazi smiled, pointed to the weeds on the ground, and said, ”If you don’t believe me, you can try it. Perhaps the Elixir of Terror you concoct with my recipe will be able to bring all three of your teammates back to life…”

At this point, Zhao Rong had no choice but to give it a try. He took a pressure cooker and a persistent fire from his Magic Ring. Then, he plucked a handful of weeds from the ground, threw them into the pressure cooker, and filled it with water from the nearby stream.

Just as Zhao Rong was about to heat the pressure cooker with the persistent fire, he realized he had no salt. Out here in the wilderness, a simple handful of salt had stumped him.

While Zhao Rong was fretting over the lack of salt, Miss Lili unexpectedly pulled a bag of iodized salt from her pocket. ”Zhao Rong, I forgot to tell you I brought a bag of salt with me today. Here, you can use this for now…”

Seeing that Miss Lili actually had a bag of salt, and recalling the high-powered microscope she had produced in the cave earlier, Zhao Rong exclaimed, ”Miss Lili, you’re so well-prepared! I never expected you to carry so many things with you…”

Miss Lili chuckled, then pulled out pots, pans, various seasonings, and other cooking utensils from her pocket. ”I’ve always believed in being well-equipped when you travel. The moment I set out, I bring all my cooking supplies, seasonings, and utensils. Otherwise, you might go hungry…”

Gazing at the heap of belongings, Zhao Rong looked at Miss Lili’s pocket and asked curiously, ”Is your pocket some kind of cornucopia? How can it hold so many things?”

Hearing this, Miss Lili said with some embarrassment, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I forgot to tell you. My pocket contains another Magic Ring, one that’s identical to the one you’re wearing…”

Zhao Rong looked at the Magic Ring Miss Lili took out of her pocket and asked, ”I got this Magic Ring back at the True Martial Sect when I killed that gecko person… Where did you get yours?”

Miss Lili smiled and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, have you forgotten? That time at Xijing University, when you had that big fight with a guy named Bai Xiaojun?”

The mention of Bai Xiaojun made Zhao Rong think of that male classmate at Xijing University who loved watching movies. He nodded in understanding. ”So you got the Magic Ring from that magical beast. No wonder…”

While Zhao Rong and Miss Lili were discussing the Magic Rings, the assistant, still convulsing and frothing at the mouth, suddenly spoke up. ”Can you two cut the crap and hurry up with the elixir? The three of us need saving!”

Hearing the assistant speak, Zhao Rong quickly looked at him. ”Weren’t you driven mad by the magnetic field radiation? You were brandishing a dagger and chasing the beautiful Yu Lan. How is your mind clear again?”

At that moment, Xuelian also spoke up. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I vaguely remember being inside the cave, picking up a large rock, and smashing it toward your forehead?”

At the same time, Yu Lan, lying on the ground, shivered, stirred, and muttered, ”Are we… out of the Black Wind Cave already?”

Seeing all three waking up at the same time, Miss Lili said happily, ”Brother Zhao Rong, we were just about to make the Elixir of Terror to save you, but you all woke up on your own!”

By this time, Zhao Rong had already started the alchemy process. He poured the entire bag of salt into the pressure cooker. As he sealed the lid and cranked up the persistent fire, the concoction began to brew rapidly. To Zhao Rong’s surprise, although the Elixir of Terror had a strange and terrifying name, the process of making it was extremely quick and simple.

In no time at all, he had successfully created a golden Elixir of Terror.

Holding the glittering, golden elixir in his palm, Zhao Rong looked at the three people on the ground and said, ”Sorry, I only managed to make one. Which of you will take it first?”

Hearing that Zhao Rong had only made one, the assistant immediately sat up, snatched the elixir from Zhao Rong’s hand, and swallowed it. ”Compared to the two ladies, my radiation exposure was the worst. Let me have it first…”

Seeing that the assistant, a man completely devoid of chivalry or selflessness, had snatched the Elixir of Terror from his hand and swallowed it in one gulp, Zhao Rong cursed angrily, ”Assistant, you’re a fucking disgrace! Are you even a man? Don’t you know to let the ladies go first? Would it have killed you to wait a moment and let Xuelian or Yu Lan have the elixir?”

Suddenly, after swallowing the Elixir of Terror, the assistant felt nauseous. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, I’ve eaten a lot of your elixirs, and they always felt great. But after eating this Elixir of Terror, I suddenly feel like I’ve eaten a piece of shit…”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong strode over and slapped the assistant twice across the face. ”Damn it! I work my ass off to make one elixir, and you snatch it first! Fine, you ate it, so just be quiet about it. But then you have the nerve to insult me and say my elixir tastes like shit? You’re asking for a beating!” With that, Zhao Rong proceeded to give the assistant a sound thrashing.

However, just as he finished, he noticed another, grass-green elixir at the very bottom of the pressure cooker. Scratching the back of his head, Zhao Rong asked Wang Huazi, ”What the hell? This is really strange. Did I somehow make two Elixirs of Terror at once? And their color, shape, and size are completely different?”

Wang Huazi covered his mouth and laughed hysterically. ”Oh, man, I don’t even know what to say to you… When you took the elixir out of the pressure cooker, you didn’t even look at the very bottom… The golden, round thing you grabbed was a ball that a dung beetle painstakingly rolled… And you actually mistook that dung beetle’s ball for the Elixir of Terror! Not only that, you put it in front of the three of them and asked who wanted to eat your elixir first!”

At these words, realization dawned on Zhao Rong. He turned to the assistant in horror and said, ”No wonder the assistant said it felt like he’d eaten shit… It wasn’t that he *felt like* he ate shit—he *literally* ate shit…”

When the assistant heard that the ”elixir” Zhao Rong had given him was actually a ball of dung, he collapsed onto the grass, vomiting and purging. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, of all the things to feed a person, why did you have to feed me shit?”

Zhao Rong was mortified. But embarrassment aside, the green elixir still needed to be administered. He broke the real elixir from the pressure cooker in half, giving one piece to Xuelian and the other to Yu Lan.

After the two women took the antidote, they immediately perked up, their faces rosy and radiant as they stood. Yu Lan joyfully stepped forward and kissed Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, your alchemy skills are getting better and better! There’s no elixir you can’t make and no illness you can’t cure!”

Xuelian also came forward, hugged him, and apologized. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I was so foolish back in the Black Wind Cave. How could I have thrown a rock at you? Brother Zhao Rong, you’re my hero, my one true love! In this life, I could smash anyone else to death, but I would never, ever smash you!”

Though Xuelian’s words made Zhao Rong feel a bit awkward, he comforted her. ”It’s alright. What’s past is past. You don’t need to dwell on it.”

At this crucial moment, just as Zhao Rong was embracing Xuelian and Yu Lan, Miss Lili was struck by a more serious problem. She looked at Zhao Rong and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, we came to the Black Wind Cave to find the Thousand Year Old Demon and get the Gate Crasher Pill. We’ve found the demon and we got the pill… But there are thousands of cursed students at the Ghost Hunting Academy. This single pill is just a drop in the ocean for them…”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong slapped his forehead, realizing his mistake. ”How could I have forgotten? The Thousand Year Old Demon is taking his flying saucer back to Planet F, which means he won’t need any more Gate Crasher Pills. Why didn’t I ask him for all of his pills earlier? Ah, what an oversight…”

Just as Zhao Rong was wallowing in regret, a tremendous noise roared from the sky, followed by a powerful gust of wind…
