Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the three young women heard that the Vice Dean was actually going to propose to Zhao Rong—in a bathroom, no less—they were so shocked they nearly collapsed onto the ground.

Lili was the first to react. She snatched a brick from the ground, her killing intent palpable as she growled, ”Brother Zhao Rong is mine! I will not let this Vice Dean succeed…” With that, she charged toward the bathroom, brick in hand.

Yu Lan was right behind her, grabbing a wooden stick. As she ran, she shouted, ”Dean, let go of that man and let me at him!”

Xuelian, meanwhile, was still frozen, stunned by what she had just heard. It took her a long moment to snap out of it, and then she frantically looked around for a weapon. However, after searching for a while, she found neither a brick nor a stick.

With no other choice, she stopped a male student who was passing by. ”Excuse me,” she pleaded, ”could I borrow your belt for a moment?”

Hearing a beautiful woman ask for his belt, the lecherous student grinned. As he unbuckled it, he said, ”Beauty, you can borrow more than just my belt. I’m available for the whole night, too...”

The moment the belt was in her hand, Xuelian sent the man flying with a sharp side kick. Gripping the belt, she sprinted toward the bathroom. As she charged, she shouted, ”Dean, Brother Zhao Rong is mine! In the future, he’s supposed to ride on a seven-colored, auspicious cloud to come and marry me! How dare you try to steal my Brother Zhao Rong? I’ll strangle you with this belt!”

「At that moment, inside the bathroom.」

When Zhao Rong saw the Vice Dean pull a ring from his pocket, his jaw dropped. ”What are you doing?” he stammered.

The Vice Dean placed the ring in his own palm and quickly explained, ”Bro, don’t get the wrong idea. I don’t have… peculiar tastes like that. I’m not proposing to you.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong stared at the large diamond ring in the man’s hand and asked in surprise, ”Then what are you doing?”

The Vice Dean looked at the ring, his voice filled with emotion. ”This diamond ring is the one I used to propose to my wife, Xiaoping. But now, she and I are worlds apart, one living and one dead… Zhao Rong, take this ring. If an evil ghost ever appears, just show it this ring. No matter how fierce the ghost is, it won’t touch a hair on your head.”

Astonished by the ring’s seemingly magical properties, Zhao Rong asked, puzzled, ”Your engagement ring is that powerful? It can actually ward off evil spirits?”

”It’s not the ring that’s powerful,” the Vice Dean explained, ”it’s my late wife, Xiaoping. She’s the formidable one. She is now the most powerful evil ghost in the heavily haunted Wang Family Village.”

Hearing the Vice Dean claim his wife was the most formidable evil ghost, Zhao Rong recalled the mother-daughter ghost duo he had just encountered in the villa. He frowned and asked, ”But when I saw your deceased wife in the villa just now, she didn’t seem powerful at all. In fact, she seemed quite afraid of Ghost-Hunting Instructor San Yi. How can you say she’s a ferocious or malevolent ghost?”

”When my wife Xiaoping is with our daughter, the ghost doll, she’s a gentle spirit, completely harmless. But the moment Xiaoping is separated from our child, she instantly transforms into a ferocious ghost, even a malevolent spirit,” the Vice Dean explained.

”In fact, many students and instructors from our Ghost Hunting Academy have died at my wife’s hands.”

Realization dawned on Zhao Rong. He finally understood why Ghost-Hunting Instructor San Yi had waited years for the perfect opportunity to capture Xiaoping.

As Zhao Rong was processing this, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian burst into the room.

Without a word, the three women descended upon the Vice Dean, who was standing near the entrance. Lili slammed the brick against his head, yelling furiously, ”Brother Zhao Rong is mine! You won’t take him from me!”

Yu Lan rained blows down on him with the wooden stick. ”You pervert! How dare you go after my Brother Zhao Rong! I’ll show you what happens when you mess with us! That’ll teach you to ever get ideas about him again!”

Meanwhile, Xuelian wrapped the belt around the Vice Dean’s neck and pulled tight, screaming, ”Brother Zhao Rong is supposed to ride on a seven-colored, auspicious cloud to marry me! You bastard, how dare you ruin my dream! I’ll kill you!”

Seeing how viciously they were attacking, Zhao Rong quickly intervened, pulling the Vice Dean away from their grasp. He tried to explain, ”Please, don’t misunderstand! The Vice Dean and I are completely innocent! Nothing happened between us!”

Lili pointed to a pile of toilet paper on the floor, her voice laced with disbelief. ”Still saying nothing happened? Then how is that whole roll of toilet paper you just brought in already used up?”

Yu Lan then gestured to a used condom in a nearby trash can. ”And you claim nothing happened? Then where did *that* come from?”

Xuelian then pointed at the ring in Zhao Rong’s hand. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if there’s really nothing between you two, then why did he give you a diamond ring?”

Faced with their aggressive questioning, Zhao Rong had no choice but to explain each point. He looked at Lili, whose face was beet-red with anger, and said, ”Lili, you don’t understand. The Vice Dean used up that toilet paper wiping his nose, tears, saliva, sweat… all kinds of bodily fluids. It wasn’t used for… that.”

Next, Zhao Rong took a step toward the murderous-looking Yu Lan. ”Yu Lan, as for the used condom in the trash can, I have no idea what classless slob did their business in here and just left it behind. It really isn’t mine, and it isn’t the Vice Dean’s either.”

His throat dry, Zhao Rong finally turned to Xuelian. ”Xuelian, this diamond ring in my hand does belong to the Vice Dean, but he didn’t give it to me as a proposal. He gave it to me for protection.”

Xuelian stared back, unconvinced. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re such a good liar. I don’t believe for a second that a ring can save your life.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong recounted the entire story the Vice Dean had just told him.

After she heard the explanation and learned the Vice Dean’s tragic story, Xuelian finally understood. Her anger toward Zhao Rong faded, replaced by sympathy for the Vice Dean.

Just as the misunderstanding was cleared and everyone was starting to calm down, another man walked into the restroom. He didn’t seem to notice the women and headed straight for a urinal. Seeing the man about to relieve himself, the three women shrieked in embarrassment and fled.

The man, shocked to see women in the men’s room, quickly hitched his pants back up and glared at the men who remained. ”What are you guys doing? Why are you hiding women in the bathroom?” A malicious glint appeared in his eyes as he spoke.

Zhao Rong was about to explain when the Vice Dean grabbed his arm. ”This guy is the Laoshan Ghost-Hunting Instructor, one of the four great instructors at the Ghost Hunting Academy. Just ignore him. Let’s go.”

Just as Zhao Rong was about to follow the Vice Dean out, the Laoshan Ghost-Hunting Instructor suddenly stepped forward, blocking his path. He spoke with an arrogant sneer, ”Kid, you must be the new Ghost Hunting Academy student, Zhao Rong.”

Zhao Rong looked at the man before him, noting his thin mustache and an extraordinarily ugly face. ”That’s me,” he replied. ”What’s it to you?”
