Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Listening to the Thousand Year Old Demon, Zhao Rong said, ”It’s fine. You can come out. We won’t be surprised or mock you...”

After he spoke, he thought to himself, A Thousand Year Old Demon... as the name implies, it must be an old, ugly, and wicked demon that has cultivated for a thousand years.

Lili was also very eager to see the Thousand Year Old Demon’s true face. She said, ”Someone as incredible as you? We’re too busy being in awe to laugh!”

Hearing the words of Zhao Rong and Lili, the Thousand Year Old Demon finally let go of all her worries.

Suddenly, with a THUD, the Thousand Year Old Demon leaped out from the darkness, landing on the ground in front of Zhao Rong and Lili.

When Zhao Rong saw the Thousand Year Old Demon, he was instantly stunned.

Stifling a laugh, Zhao Rong asked incredulously, ”Thousand Year Old Demon, are you a character actor? Did you happen to be in Spielberg’s movie, *E.T.*, playing the alien?”

Meanwhile, Lili stared at the short, big-headed, thin-necked creature that looked exactly like the alien from the movie and exclaimed, ”Oh my God! I thought you were just an old demon... I never imagined you were actually an alien...”

The Thousand Year Old Demon turned out to be an extremely shy alien. She hung her head low, her face blushing with embarrassment as she stammered, ”A thousand years ago, my companions and I were traveling to Earth in a flying saucer. When we landed here in Wang Family Village, Xijing City, our craft malfunctioned...”

Lili interrupted her, guessing, ”Because your saucer malfunctioned, your whole group of aliens had to stay on Earth?”

The Thousand Year Old Demon shook her head. ”It malfunctioned, but we eventually fixed it...”

”If it was fixed, then why didn’t you leave Earth with your companions and return to your home planet?” Zhao Rong asked, not understanding.

The Thousand Year Old Demon said, the words catching in her throat, ”I wanted to go back with my companions, too... But I never imagined those sons of bitches would just leave me behind.”

Lili said sympathetically, ”So you stayed here on Earth, hiding in this cave, waiting for your companions to come back for you and take you home to your planet?”

Finally meeting someone who understood her, the Thousand Year Old Demon suddenly burst into tears. With tears streaming down her face, she sobbed, ”But I’ve waited for a thousand years, and they still haven’t come back for me...”

When Zhao Rong heard that she was waiting for her alien companions to return, he instantly understood the reason for the deadly magnetic field inside the cave. Because he was fortified by the Dragon Crystal, Zhao Rong wasn’t afraid of the cave’s magnetic field.

Feeling the terrifying magnetic field around him, Zhao Rong turned to the alien and said, ”Thousand Year Old Demon, I know why the magnetic field in your cave is so powerful it can kill people...”

Lili asked Zhao Rong with concern, ”Brother Zhao Rong, please tell me, why is there such a strong magnetic field in this cave?”

Zhao Rong smiled and pointed toward the sky. ”The universe is vast, and the Earth is huge. Even if other aliens found Earth and entered the atmosphere, how would they find this specific spot in Wang Family Village? How would they find you, the Thousand Year Old Demon, hiding in the Black Wind Cave on the back mountain?”

It suddenly dawned on Lili. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I get it! The powerful magnetic field in this cave is a communication signal for the aliens!”

”The reason the magnetic field is strong enough to kill people is due to the vast distances between the aliens,” Zhao Rong continued to explain. ”If the field weren’t powerful enough, they wouldn’t be able to receive any signal at all.”

Lili asked curiously, ”Then why can the Thousand Year Old Demon live in a cave with such a powerful magnetic field for a thousand years without any issues, while we humans have such strong reactions the moment we step inside?”

”I suspect,” Zhao Rong said, looking at the Thousand Year Old Demon and blinking, ”that our Thousand Year Old Demon here either has a device protecting her from this powerful magnetic field, or her body has simply adapted to it. That’s why she can live in the Black Wind Cave for a thousand years, coexisting peacefully with such an intense field.”

After listening to the conversation between Zhao Rong and Lili, the Thousand Year Old Demon gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Young man, you’re incredibly smart. You figured it all out before I even had to explain.”

Zhao Rong looked the Thousand Year Old Demon up and down. ”Thousand Year Old Demon—oh, sorry, Alien... We’ve come looking for you because we need to get an antidote from you called the Barrier-Breaking Elixir.”

Hearing the words ”Barrier-Breaking Elixir,” the Thousand Year Old Demon shook her head vehemently. ”Do you even know what that elixir is for? I can tell you, the only reason I can withstand the powerful magnetic field in this Black Wind Cave is because I must take one Barrier-Breaking Elixir every single day. If I give them to you, the radiation from this field will kill me.”

Lili argued, ”But if you don’t give us the Barrier-Breaking Elixir, then over a thousand students from the Ghost Hunting Academy will die from a curse that causes their bodies to rot away!”

The Thousand Year Old Demon showed no concern for the students’ lives. ”They are them, and I am me. What do the lives and deaths of those students have to do with me, an alien?”

”We know it’s not your concern,” Zhao Rong explained, stepping forward. ”We’ve only come to you hoping to get a few spare elixirs. Perhaps some you have leftover? I would take them back to save the students of the Ghost Hunting Academy. After all, these are living, breathing people we’re talking about...”

The Thousand Year Old Demon still refused sternly. ”These Barrier-Breaking Elixirs don’t have a fixed quantity. Whenever I consume one, another one splits off from the remainder by the next day.”

She continued to explain, ”When my kind first created the Barrier-Breaking Elixirs, they were designed with a preset function. One can become two, two can become three, and three can create all things. They will replicate endlessly until my companions return for me. At that point, I will consume the last one. So, if you think you’re getting even one elixir from me, you can forget it. It’s impossible.”

Feeling the immense difficulty of the situation, Zhao Rong asked, ”Thousand Year Old Demon, does that mean you won’t give us even a single Barrier-Breaking Elixir?”

The Thousand Year Old Demon laughed. ”I can be your friend. We can even be pals. But when it comes to the Barrier-Breaking Elixirs, there’s no room for negotiation. Don’t even think about taking one from me.”

Hearing this, Lili, standing nearby, was out of ideas. She turned to Zhao Rong and asked helplessly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, we went through so much to get into the Black Wind Cave and find the Thousand Year Old Demon... If we leave empty-handed, won’t we be letting everyone down?”

Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck Zhao Rong. He smiled at the Thousand Year Old Demon and said calmly, ”Thousand Year Old Demon, we don’t want to take anything from you... but could you perhaps lend me a Barrier-Breaking Elixir?”

Hearing Zhao Rong ask to borrow her Barrier-Breaking Elixir, the Thousand Year Old Demon became extremely wary. ”Kid, don’t try to fool me. I know you’d borrow it and never bring it back.”

Lili spoke up in Zhao Rong’s defense. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, don’t make wild accusations or slander people! Brother Zhao Rong is a very trustworthy person. When he says borrow, he means borrow. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

The Thousand Year Old Demon refused to lend out her Barrier-Breaking Elixir. ”Do you take us aliens for fools? If I lend you an elixir and you take it outside to give to some patient, how would I ever get it back?”

Hearing the Thousand Year Old Demon’s concerns, Zhao Rong placated her. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, please don’t misunderstand. When I say borrow, I mean borrow. I’ll borrow one Barrier-Breaking Elixir, right here in front of you. Then, after a few hours, I’ll return it to you completely intact. If you don’t believe me, you can stand right here and supervise my every move.”

The Thousand Year Old Demon asked, confused, ”Kid, what are you playing at? I’ll lend you my Barrier-Breaking Elixir, but you won’t take it out of the cave? Staying here for a few hours with it seems completely pointless.”

”You don’t need to worry about whether it’s meaningful or not,” Zhao Rong said with a smile. ”You just need to lend me the elixir for a few hours. I promise I’ll return it to you just as I received it.”

He finished speaking and thought, Since this Thousand Year Old Demon won’t give me a Barrier-Breaking Elixir, I’ll just borrow one. I can study it right here on the spot and replicate an elixir with the exact same properties.

When Lili heard that Zhao Rong only wanted to borrow a Barrier-Breaking Elixir and not even take it out of the cave, she asked him, confused, ”Brother Zhao Rong, we need the elixir to save people... If we don’t take it outside, what’s the point of being in here?”

Zhao Rong looked at Lili and said mysteriously, ”As long as she lends me the Barrier-Breaking Elixir, I can figure out how to replicate one exactly like it. Once I can take a replicated elixir out of here, I guarantee I can produce thousands upon thousands of them and save every student at the Ghost Hunting Academy.”

Suddenly, the Thousand Year Old Demon whirled around. She stared at Zhao Rong and Lili with a fierce, threatening gaze, her mouth open as if to speak, but she stopped just short.
