Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

As Zhao Rong faced the Thousand Year Old Demon, he held out two clenched fists.

Seeing the fists, the Thousand Year Old Demon stepped back. ”What are you trying to do?” he asked in surprise. ”Are you looking for a fight? You little rascal, did you lose my Rushing Gate Pill?”

Zhao Rong suddenly opened his right hand. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, this is the Rushing Gate Pill I successfully replicated from yours. Take a look. What do you think?”

The Thousand Year Old Demon peered at the Rushing Gate Pill in Zhao Rong’s right hand, sniffed its scent, and sensed its medicinal effects before saying in disbelief, ”Young man, you didn’t just try to pass off the Rushing Gate Pill I lent you as your own, did you?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong opened his left hand as well. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, let’s be clear. The pill in my right hand is beige; it’s the replica. The pill in my left hand is the one you lent me; it’s golden.”

Upon hearing this and examining them carefully, the Thousand Year Old Demon realized Zhao Rong was right. He took back his own Rushing Gate Pill from Zhao Rong’s left hand and stared at the replica in the other. Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, he said in disbelief, ”Kid, are you an alien like me? Otherwise, how could you have possibly crafted a Rushing Gate Pill?”

Zhao Rong smiled faintly. ”Whether I’m an alien or not, can’t you tell for yourself?”

At this, the Thousand Year Old Demon swallowed hard and scratched the back of his head. ”Could it be,” he said in utter amazement, ”that after a thousand years of evolution, human brains have become as smart and powerful as ours?”

Just then, Wang Huazi, who was floating nearby, spoke. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, do you still recognize me?”

Hearing a woman’s voice, the Thousand Year Old Demon spun around. When he saw who it was, his eyes widened before he plopped onto the ground. ”You… you… could you be Wang Huazi?” he stammered.

Wang Huazi hadn’t expected that he would remember her so clearly after a thousand years. Looking at his flustered state, she smiled gently. ”A thousand years ago, you wrote me a love letter and stuffed it under my family’s doorstep. Do you remember?”

The Thousand Year Old Demon stood up, reminiscing about the romantic events from a millennium ago. ”Of course, I remember. A thousand years ago, our alien team from Planet F arrived on Earth in a flying saucer, but our ship malfunctioned as we entered the atmosphere.

”We were forced to crash-land at the edge of your family’s farm. As the first alien to step out of the saucer, I fell in love with you at first sight.

”When I knelt on one knee, ready to confess my love, you ran away. So, I wrote you a love letter and had it sent over.

”However, in my carelessness, I didn’t put the finished love letter into the envelope. Instead, I put the recipe for the Rushing Gate Pill in it and gave that to you…”

As he finished speaking, the Thousand Year Old Demon suddenly pulled a love letter from his pocket. He looked at Wang Huazi shyly and said, ”This love letter was supposed to be given to you a thousand years ago. Because of my mistake, I never managed to give it to you, and it has been my greatest lifelong regret. But now, heaven has allowed me to meet you again. This must be fate.”

With that, he handed the love letter, which had been sealed for a thousand years, to Wang Huazi.

Although a thousand years had passed, Wang Huazi had died in the prime of her life, so she was still as beautiful and captivating as ever.

Wang Huazi accepted the love letter and read a couple of passages aloud. When Zhao Rong and Lili, who were standing nearby, heard how full of devotion, how heartfelt, and how touching it was, they couldn’t help but be moved by an affection that had lasted a millennium.

Lili wiped a tear from her eye. ”When I was young, I thought the love story in Titanic was the most touching. But now, after witnessing the thousand-year love between the Thousand Year Old Demon and Wang Huazi, I realize that their love is the most moving of all.”

Zhao Rong gave the Thousand Year Old Demon a thumbs-up. ”For a man to love a woman for a thousand years—that’s truly a magnificent thing.”

Meanwhile, Wang Huazi was also moved by the Thousand Year Old Demon’s enduring love. After she finished reading the letter, she immediately rushed over and hugged him. ”I thought that after a thousand years, you would have forgotten me completely, without a trace… But I never expected you to remember me so clearly. And you kept that love letter in your pocket all this time, for a thousand years.”

Suddenly embraced by the woman of his dreams, the Thousand Year Old Demon nearly fainted from happiness. He trembled nervously and said, ”Wang Huazi, I thought we would never see each other again… But I never imagined that not only would we meet today, but I would also finally give you my love letter. My wish has been fulfilled… And you even hugged me… I… I really don’t know what to say. Even if you asked me to die right now, I’d do it willingly.”

As he spoke, the Thousand Year Old Demon held Wang Huazi even tighter.

Seeing this touching scene, Lili couldn’t resist teasing him. ”Thousand Year Old Demon, didn’t you just bet that if Zhao Rong successfully concocted the Rushing Gate Pill, you’d give him all of your pills and eat a pile of dogshit? Shouldn’t you be making good on that promise now?”

Hearing Lili’s words, the Thousand Year Old Demon continued to embrace Wang Huazi. ”If I had known Wang Huazi was helping you concoct the pill, I definitely wouldn’t have made that bet,” he said with an awkward expression. Even though I’m an alien with a high IQ, I still can’t outsmart Zhao Rong.

Zhao Rong smiled and comforted him, ”Don’t worry, Lili was just joking with you.”

Relieved that he wouldn’t have to eat dogshit, the Thousand Year Old Demon exclaimed, ”Thank goodness I ran into you kind people! Otherwise, I really would be eating a pile of dogshit right now.”

After he spoke, the Thousand Year Old Demon continued to embrace Wang Huazi. Just then, he plucked a flower from the side of the cave and offered it to her. ”Wang Huazi, please accept my belated confession.”

Hearing that he was about to confess to her, Wang Huazi felt a bit shy but didn’t refuse. ”I know you’ve held the words you wanted to say to me in your heart for a thousand years. Go on, say them. Perhaps you’ll feel better.”

Hearing this, the Thousand Year Old Demon said excitedly, ”Wang Huazi, from the moment I first saw you when I was eighteen, I’ve adored you. I love you. My dear, will you accept my love, be my girlfriend, and one day marry me?”

Although his confession was very moving, Wang Huazi replied sadly, ”You’re an alien, and I’m just a ghost. It’s not simply a matter of humans and ghosts on different paths; we’re an alien and a ghost, worlds apart. Thousand Year Old Demon, I know you like me, and I accept your confession. But I’m only a ghost. There’s nothing I can give you.”

Hearing her concerns, the Thousand Year Old Demon immediately rushed over to embrace her and kissed her on the cheek. ”It’s alright! As long as you come with me back to Planet F, the advanced technology there can turn you from a ghost into a real, living person.”

Wang Huazi knew he was an alien, but she had never imagined their technology was so advanced that it could turn a ghost back into a person again.

She looked at the Thousand Year Old Demon and said, ”If I can become human, if I can fulfill a wife’s duties, and if I can bear you children… then I am willing to go with you to Planet F and marry you.”

Hearing that Wang Huazi had finally agreed to marry him, the Thousand Year Old Demon cried with joy. ”Ever since I came to Earth in that flying saucer, I’ve waited in this cave for a thousand years. But in all that time, I wasn’t waiting for another flying saucer to take me home. I was waiting for my true love, for my Wang Huazi. It seems fate is fair to everyone; what you lose in one place, you gain in another. Although I didn’t get the flying saucer I was waiting for, I found you instead. And I’d much rather have you than any flying saucer.”

Listening to his words, Wang Huazi was also moved. She hugged him tightly, tears streaming down her face, and said, ”Fate is destined by heaven. As long as two people love each other deeply, that love can stay fresh even after a thousand years.”

As Zhao Rong and Lili stood by, listening to their love story, both were moved to tears.

Suddenly, Lili looked at Zhao Rong with tears in her eyes and asked, ”Zhao Rong, would you love a woman for a thousand years, just like the Thousand Year Old Demon?”

Zhao Rong swallowed, licked his lips, and said, ”If I could live for a thousand years, then I definitely would.”

Lili pressed on, ”Zhao Rong, there’s something you don’t know. The first time I met you, I already felt something for you… and I feel that my love for you is like the Thousand Year Old Demon’s for Wang Huazi…”

Zhao Rong looked at Lili, wondering what she was about to say.

But as he waited for her to ask her question, a thorny issue suddenly occurred to him. Wang Huazi endured for a thousand years as a ghost solely to avenge herself and her newlywed husband. Now that her vengeance is complete, shouldn’t she be trying to find her husband’s reincarnated soul to continue their love? Why would she so hastily accept the Thousand Year Old Demon’s affection? Isn’t that… a bit inappropriate?
