Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Seeing that Sanyi and Quanzhen, two Ghost-Hunting Instructors from the Ghost Hunting Academy, were walking over, Zhao Rong hurriedly snatched the baseball cap from his assistant’s head and jammed it on his own. ”Assistant, I need to borrow your cap,” he said, then tugged the brim down low to hide his face. He couldn’t let the two instructors see that he was the same security guard who had beaten them up at West Well University a few days ago.

Unfortunately, the assistant had recently been overindulging in certain private activities in the dormitory. This had left his constitution drained, causing him to lose hair at an alarming rate, and he had even developed a few bald patches on the crown of his head.

Seeing Zhao Rong grab his hat, the assistant strode forward to argue. ”Zhao Rong, why’d you snatch my hat? Are you trying to let everyone know I’m going bald at such a young age so all the pretty girls will hate me and fall for you instead?”

Zhao Rong not only pressed the brim down even lower but also bowed his head. ”Assistant, I have to hide...”

”Why hide?” the assistant asked, confused. ”You’re not some celebrity.”

”You don’t understand, Assistant,” Zhao Rong explained. ”I beat up those two Ghost-Hunting Instructors on the school’s athletic field the day before yesterday.”

The assistant was stunned. Of all the people to pick a fight with, why these two instructors? ”Zhao Rong, are you out of your mind? You knew we were coming to the Ghost Hunting Academy to study, and you still went and offended these two instructors? Do you even want to last here?”

”It’s not my fault,” Zhao Rong said defensively. ”That day on the athletic field, I was just teaching a couple of students a lesson. The male student called two guys for backup, so I ended up beating them up too. Who knew those two guys would turn out to be first-year instructors at the Ghost Hunting Academy? If I’d known they were going to be our instructors, I never would have thrashed them...”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, the two pompous Ghost-Hunting Instructors arrived.

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor walked at the front. Looking at the five new students before him, he announced, ”Hello. I am your Ghost-Hunting Instructor from the Quanzhen Ghost Hunting Sect. From now on, you can just call me the Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor.”

The Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor next to him spoke just as arrogantly. ”I am a direct disciple of the Sanyi Ghost Hunting Sect. Just call me the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor.”

After that, the two instructors had the five students introduce themselves one by one.

When the other four had finished, Zhao Rong remained standing in place, his head lowered. ”My name is Zhao Rong, I’m twenty...” he mumbled hastily.

Listening to his voice, the two Ghost-Hunting Instructors felt it was oddly familiar.

The Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor leaned over and whispered to his colleague, ”Strange. Why does this kid’s voice sound a bit like that security guard who beat us up on the West Well University athletic field?”

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor thought so too. He stared at Zhao Rong, who still hadn’t dared to raise his head. ”Kid, which university are you from?”

Zhao Rong was about to lie and say he was from the University of Staying at Home, but before he could speak, Lili piped up from behind him. ”Instructors, don’t underestimate Zhao Rong! He’s a top student from West Well University.”

Hearing ”West Well University,” both instructors froze. They slowly squatted down, trying to peer up under the cap’s brim to get a look at the new student’s face. Was he really the security guard who had thrashed them on the athletic field?

But as the instructors crouched down, Zhao Rong quickly turned his head toward his assistant, pretending to be in a deep conversation. ”Yeah, so cool... totally awesome... wow, just epic...”

Seeing Zhao Rong turn his head away, the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor frowned and said to his colleague, ”You don’t think this guy could really be the security guard who beat us on the athletic field at West Well University, do you?”

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor, unable to get a clear look at Zhao Rong’s face, replied, ”It can’t be such a wild coincidence, can it? But if this guy really is the one who thrashed us on the field that day, then we have to seize this chance to get our revenge.”

Hearing the instructors, Zhao Rong felt immense pressure. This is just my luck, he thought. How could it be so coincidental?

As Zhao Rong was deliberately dodging their gazes, Xiao Liu, who used to work with him in the same security office and was now a student at the Ghost Hunting Academy, suddenly spotted him.

No way! he thought. My old colleague Zhao Rong came to the Ghost Hunting Academy to learn ghost hunting too? Is the business really that good these days?

Xiao Liu immediately stepped forward, ready to greet his old friend.

Just then, seeing that Zhao Rong refused to turn his face toward them, the two instructors decided to give up.

The Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor thought to himself, This student must have a scar on his face. That’s why he’s too ashamed to let anyone see him.

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor also figured the student couldn’t be Zhao Rong. The world isn’t that small.

However, just as the two instructors finished their business and were about to leave, Xiao Liu suddenly rushed forward, snatched the cap off Zhao Rong’s head, and exclaimed, ”Zhao Rong, don’t think I wouldn’t recognize you just because you pulled your brim down and kept your head low! I know you, Zhao Rong, the security guard from West Well University!”

With the cap gone, Zhao Rong’s face was fully revealed to the two instructors. They were completely dumbfounded.

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor’s hands trembled with rage as he stared at Zhao Rong. ”You little security guard... It really is you! You’re the one who beat, humiliated, and insulted us on the West Well University athletic field!”

The Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor’s face turned livid. ”Little security guard! That day on the field, you were bullying my cousin! The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor and I came to stick up for him, but not only did we fail, we got a beating from you instead?”

Then, the two instructors shouted in unison, ”Blood for blood, an eye for an eye! We’ll have our revenge and show you no mercy!”

His identity exposed, Zhao Rong looked at Xiao Liu, his former coworker from the security office. ”Xiao Liu,” he said tonelessly.

When Xiao Liu heard what the instructors had said, he instantly understood everything and began to apologize profusely. ”Zhao Rong, I didn’t know you beat up these two instructors! If I’d known, you could have killed me and I still wouldn’t have come over and taken off your hat to greet you!”

With that, Xiao Liu started backing away, calling over his shoulder as he fled, ”Zhao Rong, you’re new, you have no idea how petty these two instructors are! There was a student once who just walked past them without saying hello, and they killed him in the bathroom! Let alone someone like you who actually beat them up... Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Zhao Rong. You better run for your life!”

Having said his piece, security guard Xiao Liu bolted like a rabbit.

Watching Xiao Liu’s retreating back, Zhao Rong turned to face the two instructors, whose faces were flushed and bristling with rage. ”Instructors, I admit I beat you both up, but that was all a misunderstanding. Now, I’m a new student at the Ghost Hunting Academy, and you two are our great Ghost-Hunting Instructors. As your student, I sincerely apologize...”

Zhao Rong hadn’t finished speaking when the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor suddenly lunged forward, drawing a Peach Wood Sword from his belt. ”Apologies? What damn good are apologies? I want your life!”

Saying this, the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor stabbed the Peach Wood Sword toward Zhao Rong’s stomach.

But when the blade struck Zhao Rong’s abdomen, it didn’t harm him at all. Instead, the Peach Wood Sword in the instructor’s hand snapped in two.

The Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor quickly reminded his colleague, ”Brother Sanyi, the kid is human, not a ghost. Your Peach Wood Sword is useless against him.”

Hearing this, the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor immediately tossed aside the broken sword. ”Damn it, I’ve been catching ghosts in this godforsaken place for so long, it’s become a habit...” Having said that, he produced a dagger from his sleeve. ”Zhao Rong, now I’m coming for your worthless life!”

Seeing the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor push his luck so far, Zhao Rong’s patience snapped. He had been prepared to respect them as his instructors, but he became furious when he saw one of them about to stab him with a dagger.

Zhao Rong warned him, ”I see you’re an instructor, so I’m giving you a warning: that’s enough. Don’t force my hand!”

The Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor completely ignored him and laughed maniacally. ”Kid, last time you beat me on your turf. But this Ghost Hunting Academy? This is my turf! I’m the local boss here. My turf, my rules! And I say, you die!”

Before the instructor had even finished his sentence, Zhao Rong let out a furious roar. ”Enough is enough! I don’t have to take this anymore!”

In a flash, Zhao Rong used his Special Abilities. With an Instant Teleportation, he appeared next to a pair of bricks on the ground and snatched them up.

With a brick in each hand, Zhao Rong went on the attack, roaring, ”Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor, taste my Twin Peaks Through Ears!”

With that, he swung both bricks and smashed them against the Sanyi Ghost-Hunting Instructor’s head. Instantly, with a puff of dust flying up around the instructor’s ears, he went limp and collapsed, his eyes closing.

When the Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor saw that Zhao Rong, a brand-new student, had just knocked out one of the academy’s renowned Ghost-Hunting Instructors, he immediately stepped forward and grabbed Zhao Rong by the collar. ”Kid, you’re a student! How dare you strike an instructor? You’re rebelling!”

As he spoke, the Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor raised his right hand, preparing to slap Zhao Rong across the face.

Suddenly, the dean of the Ghost Hunting Academy—also Huazi’s generational arch-nemesis—walked out of a nearby room. He immediately stopped the instructor. ”Quanzhen Ghost-Hunting Instructor, you are a highly respected instructor at this academy. How can you strike a student in public?”

Seeing the dean, Zhao Rong’s eyes grew wide.

This is him, he thought. The enemy I’m supposed to get revenge on for Huazi. And that dean’s position he’s holding... I’m going to take it for myself.
