Reborn As Super Heiress

Seeing the expressions on Huo Sining and her group’s faces, Badasang rarely showed a slight bitter smile.

Basically, foreign visitors coming here for the first time all display such expressions.

However, there’s nothing he can do; the Myanmar Government lacks funds to build infrastructure, and most families are developing their own towns and armed forces. Thus, other places have virtually no investment for construction, reflecting Myanmar’s national condition. Even if it’s unwelcome, it’s a fact that cannot be changed for now.

”Let’s go inside.”

Badasang led the way, and Huo Sining nodded and followed him forward.

She was merely a bit unused to these situations at first but didn’t pay much attention. Every country has different conditions. Myanmar wouldn’t be so impoverished if not for years of war and warlord divisions.

The entrance was not far from where they parked. When they reached the entrance, Huo Sining noticed a staff member in a uniform standing at the door collecting entrance fees.

This was a rule of the Myanmar Jadeite Trading Market; typically, foreigners have to pay a few US Dollars for entry. Especially now with the Yangon Public Plate about to open, the number of foreign tourists coming to gamble on stones at the Wacheng Jade Market has increased several times, allowing the market to earn considerable extra income.

So, upon seeing Huo Sining’s group, a staff member’s eyes lit up and he hurriedly walked forward to question Huo Sining.

These staff members, having crawled through the jadeite market for years, were very discerning. They could usually tell at a glance which tourists were just here for fun and which ones had substantial wealth.

Thus, upon seeing Huo Sining and her companions, the staff member immediately felt he had caught a few fat sheep. He decided not to let them enter the market without extorting them properly.

Unexpectedly, just when he was about to speak, his sharp-eyed partner pulled him back, abruptly dragging him away.

”What are you doing?” The staff member was immediately angered, and turned back to glare at his companion in dissatisfaction.

”What am I doing? Don’t you see who brought them? If you want to die, just go ahead!”

The companion was also quite irritable, feeling unappreciated for his good intentions, a real case of a dog biting Lu Dongbin.

The staff member froze upon hearing this and turned back quickly, only to see Badasang pointing to a place, quietly explaining something to Huo Sining’s group.

Seeing Badasang, the staff member’s face changed dramatically, breaking out into a cold sweat. Especially when Badasang casually glanced in his direction, he felt like a mouse seeing a cat, and instantly became nervous.

At this moment, he wished he were a turtle hiding his head and neck in his shell.

As a successor of one of the five major families in Myanmar, General Badasang often visited this jadeite trading market when free, and many staff members recognized him.

Seeing the fully armed soldiers following Badasang, this staff member felt a chill run from his feet to the top of his head.

He was merely a small gatekeeper, demanding entrance fees from Badasang’s guests was a true lack of knowledge of the word ”death”.

Myanmar’s laws have no effect on regional armed warlords. Offending a family general could easily get him killed with a bullet, and nobody would speak for him.

The staff member was so scared that he dared not say a word, standing still behind his companion.

Yet, he was fortunate today, for Badasang was in a good mood. He welcomed Huo Sining’s arrival, and the information he obtained about her convinced him that this woman named Huo might be his benefactor. With her help, the Bada Family might escape from difficulty.

Because of this, Badasang was wholeheartedly focused on forming a good relationship with Huo Sining. The atmosphere was just right, so he didn’t bother with the small fry and merely gave the staff member a warning glance without further action.

Only after Badasang led Huo Sining and her group away did the staff member relax, patting his chest in relief, and curiously asking his companion:

”Who was that foreign woman just now? Why was General Badasang so deferential to her?”

Stepping into the trading market, Huo Sining’s brows slightly furrowed.

Rows of wooden houses formed small paths, and most houses looked like temporary sheds with simple beds and kitchen tools inside, outside lay heaps of raw gambling stones, with entire families crammed into such sheds.

This scene was reminiscent of domestic shanty towns from earlier years. It’s hard to imagine these sheds are part of the world’s famous large jadeite gemstone trading market.

Despite their small size, sparrows have all their vital organs; thus, this rough market was divided into several sections.

There were areas for jadeite rings, pendants, ornaments, bracelets, all of which were finished goods. Additionally, there were areas for raw materials, slices, and processing.

These zones were chaotically divided without specific signage, making it impossible for first-time visitors without guidance to discern which was which.

But Huo Sining and her group didn’t need to worry about this because once they entered the market, Badasang took the initiative to act as their guide.

Although General Badasang’s Chinese was somewhat stilted, it was still understandable.

Badasang was very familiar with this market because it housed his family’s large bulk and retail venues for raw materials.

Huo Sining was uninterested in the finished goods; her trip aimed at gambling on jadeite raw materials. Since she was at the raw materials trading market, she naturally intended to look at raw materials and gamble on stones.

Huo Sining was direct, clearly stating her thoughts and requirements.

Badasang was extremely amicable and attentive towards Huo Sining. Hearing she wanted to see raw materials, he smiled and led her group to the raw materials section.

Huo Sining paid no mind to Badasang’s attitude, but Gu Xu, standing behind her, found it rather odd.

He had seen this ruthless Myanmar General before. Years ago, during a mission to capture some cunning drug lords, he had brief contact with this general. Although Badasang no longer remembered Gu Xu, the memory was still vivid in Gu Xu’s mind.

At that time, to capture the fleeing drug lords who had entered Myanmar, they had exhausted their efforts and, through Qin Lianshan’s connections, found this heir of the Bada Family.
