Reborn As Super Heiress

The trail on Old Mr. Zhong’s news came to a halt at Madam Yan’s, leaving Huo Sining no choice but to return to S City with Qibao. After that, she repeatedly tried to contact the unknown number that had texted her back in Xianyang, but the phone was either turned off or out of service, and her messages never received any reply. Gradually, she lost patience.

In mid-May, Huo Sining suddenly received a call from Qin Lianshan, informing her that there would be a large jade public sale in early June in Yangon, Myanmar.

”Has the civil war in Myanmar ended?” Huo Sining was surprised upon hearing this.

Qin Lianshan chuckled, ”It ended two months ago. It’s said that they’ve been adjusting the rules these past two months, which is why they haven’t announced the public sale. I got this news through official channels.”

Since she gambled raw jadeite once last summer at Boss Qi’s warehouse in Mindong, Huo Sining hadn’t touched jadeite raw stones again. Recently, she had been itching to try.

Moreover, in a few months, Jade Beauty would host its fall new product launch, but her jadeite raw materials were running low. Not only her, even Bai Yishan was troubled by it.

Therefore, upon hearing this news, Huo Sining couldn’t help but feel eager and somewhat excited.

”As the president of the Jade Association, I am obliged to attend the jade public sale. Myanmar has sent a formal invitation to the association, hoping for my attendance at the opening ceremony. However, you’re aware of my health, and though I wish to attend, the younger members of my family won’t let me travel far. So, you will attend this Yangon public sale on my behalf.”

Since she started gem gambling, Huo Sining had only tried gambling on raw materials domestically, but she had long wanted to visit the origin of jadeite. Unfortunately, time and opportunity had never aligned. Now that Qin Lianshan offered this chance, she was naturally happy to accept.

However, the suggestion that she represent Qin Lianshan at the opening ceremony left Huo Sining a bit surprised and hesitant.

”But Elder Qin, is it really appropriate for me to attend the opening ceremony on your behalf? After all, Myanmar invited you, and if you send me instead, won’t it seem a bit dismissive?”

Huo Sining felt it was rather inappropriate, as Qin Lianshan’s status was not something a little figure like her could compare to.

Understanding her concern, Qin Lianshan couldn’t help but laugh, ”What are you worried about? If I say you can, then you can. You hold the title of ’Jade Queen.’ If the people in Myanmar find that name not majestic enough, then wouldn’t everyone else be left speechless?”

”Don’t tease me. Those names were made up by bored people online. Aren’t you mocking me by saying that?” Embarrassed by Qin Lianshan’s teasing, Huo Sining felt a bit awkward.

Qin Lianshan then put on a more serious tone, ”I’m not teasing you. You’re a public figure now, and not only in the gem gambling circle. After your performance in the Spring Festival Gala, there’s virtually no one in China who doesn’t know you, Miss Magic. The title isn’t just hot air, is it? There are countless renowned corporations inviting you to endorse them, and yet they’re unable to secure your presence. By going to Myanmar for the public sale’s opening, you’re providing them with positive publicity, and they’d be delighted to have you. How could they possibly object?”

What Qin Lianshan said was indeed not exaggerated. Huo Sining’s fame nowadays was soaring, leaving many celebrities in the entertainment industry to admire her. Unfortunately, despite her high stature, she didn’t leverage it. She declined all invitations from companies, didn’t engage in public activities or performances, and only accepted a single advertisement endorsement for ”Jade Beauty,” claiming it was self-representation.

Seeing her squander her fame so freely left those striving to achieve fame, yet still stuck outside the circle, grumbling and resentful. They inwardly cursed Huo Sining’s foolishness, imagining that if they had such sky-high popularity, they would seize the opportunity for profit. They believed fate was unfair for letting an outsider like her gain fame, describing it as a waste of resources!

Unaware of the resentment she fostered by rejecting those offers and performances, Huo Sining’s mind was entirely occupied with Myanmar’s jade public sale. Hearing Qin Lianshan speak with such conviction, she was assured, stopped hesitating, and cheerfully agreed:

”In that case, I would be honored to accept the task. If there’s anything you need me to convey over there, do let me know.”

Qin Lianshan laughed cunningly, ”No need for messages, just prove it with your actions. I’ve already informed the person in charge of the Yangon Public Plate, and you’re not just representing me this time. You’re representing the face of our Jade Association. If you don’t gamble on a few high-grade glass type stones to dazzle those in Myanmar, your ’Jade Queen’ title will be in vain!”

Huo Sining was momentarily dumbfounded, not understanding what Qin Lianshan meant. She was about to inquire further when he abruptly hung up.

Just then, Auntie Li walked in from outside and said to Huo Sining, ”Miss Huo, the courier outside has delivered your package, and it seems to be from the Imperial Capital.”

A package from the Imperial Capital? Huo Sining appeared puzzled, wondering if Gu Xu had sent her something.

Thinking this, she reached out to accept the package and tore it open.

What she found was a stack of documents. Huo Sining paused for a moment, took out the documents, and seeing the set of certificates stamped with the official seal of the China Jade Association, and a final nameplate, she felt faint.

Qin Lianshan, the cunning old fox, had quietly promoted her to Honorary Vice-President of the Central Jade Association!

No wonder he mentioned over the phone that her trip to Myanmar wasn’t a representation of herself, but the entire face of the Jade Association. So, that was his plan!

Unexpectedly, her status suddenly turned into that of a national functionary, leaving Huo Sining at a loss for words.

The Vice-President of the Central Jade Association is not a nominal position, unlike a general consultant. It’s a role with significant influence among major jade associations in China.

It was unexpected that such a position would be given just like that!

Huo Sining sighed lightly. She didn’t particularly look forward to the position, but with Qin Lianshan placing so much trust in her, if she couldn’t bring some prestige back to the association, Qin Lianshan, as president, would surely face pressure, possibly hindering future work.

Qin Lianshan merely intended to leverage her fame to elevate the Central Jade Association’s recognition, and since she was already part of the industry, having an official identity would make things smoother.

This was indeed a win-win situation.

Thinking this through, Huo Sining seemed reconciled with the idea, realizing that serving as Vice-President of the Jade Association was ultimately a good thing.
