Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining’s eyes shifted as she pretended to hesitate and said, ”Oh, in that case, let me discuss it with my friend again.”

The Old Granny wasn’t suspicious, although she was anxious deep down, she couldn’t urge them, so she nodded in agreement.

Huo Sining pretended to discuss with Yang Xiaohan but deliberately glanced at the ground and suddenly said softly, ”Oh dear, my shoelace came undone.”

As she spoke, she squatted down to retie her shoelace, whispering to Qibao who was standing beside her.

”Qibao, do you still have the Sub Gu eggs of the Thousand-Mile Guider?”

Qibao was startled, then nodded with bright eyes looking at Huo Sining, ”Yes, sister, what’s up?”

Huo Sining smirked and gestured towards the Old Granny behind her, ”Sister is giving you a task. Find a way to put the Sub Gu on that Old Granny. She is in cahoots with a person named Oil Rat, also a Tomb Robber. Once the Thousand-Mile Guider is active, we can track down that Oil Rat fellow.”

Qibao nodded quickly and whispered, ”Got it, sister, Qibao will complete the mission!”

After confirming this matter, Huo Sining turned back, walked a few steps, and returned to the stall, pretending to be somewhat reluctant and said to the Old Granny, ”Alright, five million five hundred thousand, I’ll buy this jade. What’s your method of transaction?”

The Old Granny, seeing Huo Sining agreeing to buy, felt relieved and immediately rejoiced, ”How much cash can miss pay?”

Huo Sining checked the time and shook her head, ”It’s too early, the banks aren’t open. I only have a hundred thousand in cash on me right now. Will you take card, bank transfer, or check for the rest?”

The Old Granny knew the time wasn’t right either, but hearing Huo Sining only had a hundred thousand in cash made her hesitate.

Huo Sining, seeing this, took out the hundred thousand and also pulled out an anonymous bank card from her bag, ”Alright, I have an anonymous bank card here with five million. The card is anonymous, cannot be reported lost, and doesn’t allow cash withdrawals, but you can transfer directly at the counter. The hundred thousand and this card sum up to five million one hundred thousand, and I’ll give you a check for the remaining forty thousand.”

Upon hearing Huo Sining mention an anonymous bank card with five million, the Old Granny was overjoyed and immediately clutched the card in her hand, smiling, ”No need for a check. With this bank card, I’ll sell you the Luanfeng Heming jade pendant for five million one hundred thousand!”

As she spoke, the Old Granny pushed the Luanfeng Heming towards Huo Sining’s hand, stuffed the entire hundred thousand cash into a black handbag behind her, then turned agilely and quickly disappeared into the thin misty night.

Seeing the Old Granny about to run away, Huo Sining signaled to Yang Xiaohan, who immediately reported back to the station, then followed along, also disappearing with the Old Granny.

”How’s it going!?” Huo Sining couldn’t wait and anxiously asked, holding Qibao’s hand.

”With me on the job, nothing is impossible. Just now, I secretly placed the Sub Gu on the Old Granny while she wasn’t noticing. Within two hours, those Sub Gu will hatch, so don’t worry, sister, just wait for the news!”

Qibao patted his chest with a proud smile.

Though the Luanfeng Heming jade pendant was bought, it was like a hot potato. Firstly, it’s fresh from the ground and can’t be exposed, and secondly, it’s covered in black sinister aura, looking quite ominous. Even Huo Sining dared not casually touch it.

However, this item was the loot of the Tomb Robbers, evidence of their crime, and Huo Sining couldn’t just discard it. Also, Luanfeng Heming counted as a precious antique relic that might contain crucial hints for researching the tomb owner, so Huo Sining didn’t dare to dispose of it and had to keep it.

Therefore, she wrapped the jade pendant with the tablecloth altogether and pretended to put it in her backpack, then sneaked it into her storage ring while unobserved by others.

This thing was covered with that dark substance, and close contact might taint someone with death energy, so it’s safer to hide it in her Space for now.

Along with Qibao, she found a hotel on Chang’an Street to stay for the night. The next morning, Huo Sining called Yang Xiaohan, only to find her phone was turned off, causing some confusion. So, after breakfast with Qibao, they went to find her at the police station where Yang Xiaohan was located.

Unexpectedly, not long after leaving the hotel, Qibao’s expression turned odd, ”Sister, the Sub Gu responded last night. The Old Granny’s location is less than five hundred meters away from us!”

Huo Sining was taken aback, ”So close?”

She instinctively wanted to look around, but at that moment, Qibao got anxious, ”It’s getting farther, the distance is increasing, she must have taken some kind of transportation!”

Huo Sining also grew anxious. Unable to reach Yang Xiaohan, she hastily hailed a taxi, gesturing for Qibao to indicate the direction the person left.

”Over there! It’s going in that direction!” Qibao pointed down a road.

The taxi driver, unaware of the details, still followed Qibao’s direction and drove towards the long-distance bus station.

”Here, they must have gone into the long-distance bus station!” Qibao said with certainty.

Seeing this, Huo Sining signaled the driver to stop. The two hurriedly got out and ran towards the long-distance bus station.

The bus station was crowded and confusing, making it difficult to find someone. Just then, by chance, Huo Sining glanced up and spotted a middle-aged man dressed in construction worker clothes, carrying a large knapsack.

”Let’s go, quietly follow him!” Huo Sining urgently pulled Qibao to stealthily follow the man.

Qibao was momentarily stunned and somewhat puzzled.

Huo Sining whispered, ”That man is the Oil Rat we’re looking for. I’ve seen his ID photo at the police station in City C. The clothes are different, but I remember his features clearly, it’s definitely him!”

Qibao nodded in semi-understanding, looking at the person not far away dressed in shabby work clothes with dust all over, carrying a gray-green bag like a laborer, confusedly asked, ”Then sister, why are we following him?”

Huo Sining smiled, ”He’s disguised like this coming to Xianning, definitely up to something shady. He might be planning another tomb robbery. Let’s follow him, don’t let him slip away, then report his position to the police and let them catch him!”
