Reborn As Super Heiress

Over there, Liang Jinghong was still hurriedly explaining to Master Zhang. When he heard the familiar voice, his entire body stiffened and he instinctively looked up toward the source of the sound. Upon seeing who it was, his face drastically changed.

The other guests in the banquet hall also turned to look towards the entrance, and while most found it odd, Huo Sining, who was holding a wine glass and had just taken a sip of red wine, nearly spat it out.

Oh my God, why is this woman here?!

Indeed, the person arriving was none other than Wu Jingyi, whom Huo Sining had previously tormented with some itch-inducing powder, making her miserable. Seeing the dark red scars and bumpy blemishes left on Wu Jingyi’s face, which couldn’t be covered even with thick layers of foundation, Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, thinking what a pity.

Although, in her past life, Wu Jingyi had sought her life, this time around, Huo Sining had no intention of fighting to the death with this woman. As long as Wu Jingyi didn’t provoke her, she was perfectly capable of letting bygones be bygones and treating Wu Jingyi as a stranger.

Unfortunately, while Huo Sining could put past grievances behind, Wu Jingyi couldn’t let go and insisted on trampling Huo Sining underfoot to feel content. Even attending university in the Imperial Capital and entering the entertainment industry couldn’t make her forget her desire to ruin Huo Sining.

For a woman constantly scheming to harm her, how could Huo Sining possibly show mercy? Wu Jingyi wanted to ruin her face using An Rong, so she returned the favor in kind.

Itch-inducing powder isn’t a powerful poison; it merely makes one unbearably itchy. If one could resist scratching, within half a month the symptoms would naturally disappear without a trace, the swelling would subside, leaving no marks.

However, Wu Jingyi obviously couldn’t endure, hence her face was now covered in unsightly scars, even causing Starlight Agency to terminate her contract. Huo Sining inwardly clicked her tongue.

She was well aware that Wu Jingyi took immense pride in her face. Now that her appearance was ruined, both her education and career gone, she wondered what this woman still had to be proud or boastful about.

While Huo Sining was still lost in thought, the guests began to discuss among themselves.

”Who is that woman? Seems she’s here for Jinghong?”

”At an event like this, the Liang Family is really overstepping; this is clearly a slap in the Zhang Family’s face!”

”That woman’s face is covered in scars, so ugly; she can’t be the young master of the Liang Family’s sweetheart, surely?”

”Don’t know, but if she is, then Liang Jinghong is indeed brave, assuming there’s no better option for the Zhang Family, forcing them to choose the Liang Family for marriage?”

”It’s not impossible. The Zhang Family wants to cozy up to the Liang Family to get a share in their industries. The Liang Family might be doing this deliberately to give the Zhang Family’s girl a reality check, embarrassing her in front of everyone!”

The banquet hall filled with murmurs and discussions, while over there, Song Hui stared at Liang Jinghong, a cold smile playing at his lips.

”Jinghong, what’s going on, who is that girl?” Before one wave could settle, another arose, and not just Master Zhang, but even Liang Pengzhi expressed dissatisfaction, directly asking.

Liang Jinghong was as bewildered as anyone. He couldn’t figure out why Wu Jingyi was here. He never mentioned his engagement with the Zhang Family to her, so how did she know?

With her face now utterly destroyed, Wu Jingyi was revolting to look at, and every time Liang Jinghong saw her face, he felt nauseated, unable to recapture the thrilling feeling he had when he first met Wu Jingyi and felt infatuated at first glance. Consequently, he had intentionally ignored Wu Jingyi, not even seen her during this period.

Earlier, during the host’s speech, an embarrassing scandal had already occurred, giving the Zhang Family a bad impression. Now seeing Wu Jingyi suddenly appear, he dared not admit knowing her, instead he feigned ignorance, laughing dryly:

”Grandpa, I don’t know who that woman is; what’s going on with this hotel, letting such a woman crash a private event? I’ll call security to throw her out!”

With that, Liang Jinghong was about to summon hotel security, but before he could take a few steps, Wu Jingyi cried out urgently: ”Jinghong, why haven’t you seen me this time, nor answered my calls or texts; are you really going to be engaged to another woman?!”

Liang Jinghong’s heart sank, his face immediately turned sour as he turned around angrily, glaring at Wu Jingyi:

”What nonsense are you spouting, do I know you? Is this a place for you? I advise you to leave right now, or I’ll have security throw you out!”

Seeing the sinister and fierce look in Liang Jinghong’s eyes frightened Wu Jingyi, for Liang Jinghong had always been gentle and never looked at her with such eyes.

But if this engagement banquet is successful, the woman named Zhang would become the lady of the Liang Family, and her chance of marrying into a wealthy family would be shattered, leaving zero hope.

Thinking of that outcome, Wu Jingyi seethed with resentment; she was determined not to let anyone take her place as the lady of the Liang Family. Hence, she had to sabotage today’s engagement banquet at all costs!

What did it matter to anger Liang Jinghong, so long as she achieved her aim today, she could marry into the Liang Family as a wealthy lady soon, and then find a way to appease Liang Jinghong; surely, Liang Jinghong would forgive her with his gentleness!

With these thoughts, Wu Jingyi steeled her resolve, ignoring the consequences of angering Liang Jinghong. She bit her lip and looked directly at Liang Jinghong, prepared her emotions, instantly tears brimmed in her eyes, full of disappointment and sadness, her acting suddenly on point.

”Jinghong, how could you change, you’re not like this before, you promised that once I turned twenty, you’d marry me as the lady of the Liang Family. But now you pretend not to know me, were all your promises lies?”

”This is absurd, Manager Liu, what’s going on here, where are the security staff? Hurry and get this crazy woman out!”

Liang Jinghong realized he was in trouble, since Wu Jingyi paid no heed to his threats and was clearly set to cause a major scene and completely ruin the engagement banquet. And how could Liang Jinghong allow Wu Jingyi to succeed?
