Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining saw those four people and felt a bit strange inside, how come only these four came back, where are the others?

”Good thing I ran fast, otherwise I would have been buried inside like those people! What on earth is going on, how did it collapse inside all of a sudden?”

”I think I heard gunfire at the time, there might have been trouble inside! There might even be fellow companions!”

”It shouldn’t be, if there were companions, just retreating would be enough, no need to fire. Besides, those people wouldn’t be unaware that the Auricle Chamber can’t withstand vibrations, firing would be digging their own grave!”

The other three were chattering away, while Luo Fatso remained silent, looking rather grim.

”Luo Fatso, what’s wrong?” One of them noticed Luo’s unusual expression and couldn’t help but ask.

Luo Fatso looked at them oddly and took a moment before asking, ”When you were in the tomb tunnel, did you hear a strange sound?”

”What sound?” The other three looked at each other, clueless about what Luo Fatso was referring to.

Luo Fatso shivered thinking about the rumors he had heard: ”I heard before that there’s something strange in that tomb tunnel, among the batch of tomb robbers who went in before, only Mr. Huang came out alive, apparently because there’s something dirty inside, most who go in never come out.”

Fear showed in the eyes of the three: ”Luo Fatso, do you mean there are millennial zombies inside?”

Luo Fatso shook his head, ”I don’t know, anyway, we were hired by Fujiwara Seiho, we just need to take care of the Luoyang Shovel, the rest isn’t our responsibility.”

”Can they still come out?” One of the tombsters asked worriedly, ”Should we call the police?”

”Call the police?” Luo Fatso sneered, ”Don’t forget your identity, we’re not good citizens, call the police, and you’re the first to end up in the station!”

The person realized his mindless words, scratched his head awkwardly, ”I’m just worried they can’t come out, and we’ll have worked for nothing with no wages paid.”

Luo Fatso gave him a cold look and said, ”Don’t worry about that, not to mention Fujiwara Seiho’s skills, just Mr. Huang isn’t a regular person, I’ve heard Mr. Huang has descended into pits and entered sewers, we may be after dead people’s interests, but no one is more ruthless than him, that one has eaten dead people! If he can escape once, he can escape a second time, they surely have a backup plan!”

Huo Sining turned pale upon hearing the tomb collapsed.

Once the tomb tunnel collapses, how could those inside get out? They might just suffocate in there.

Huo Sining didn’t care about Fujiwara Seiho and that Mr. Huang’s lives, but Uncle Tong was still inside!

Huo Sining regretted, she should’ve followed them to the cave entrance earlier, but now she couldn’t bother with much else, she had to check what happened at the cave.

It was already past six in the morning, the sky was lightening, Huo Sining called for Qibao and prepared to head to the suburb she visited yesterday, but as soon as she got in the car, Yang Xiaohan called: ”Miss Huo, something happened!”

Huo Sining was stunned: ”Officer Yang, you’re up so early?”

Yang Xiaohan’s voice was a bit frantic: ”Not early, yesterday after your call, people from the bureau rushed overnight to Xianyang, and over here we checked the Cultural Relics Bureau archives, the place you mentioned, known as Yunling, indeed has a registered Thousand-Year Ancient Tomb in the mountain ridge. Because you mentioned tomb robbers were visiting this ancient tomb, the Cultural Relics Bureau took it very seriously. The plan was for us to arrive at the tomb first to control those tomb robbers, then the Cultural Relics Bureau would arrange people today to head to Xianning for archaeological work, who knew we’d still be late!”

”You’re at Yunling now? What exactly happened?” Huo Sining asked anxiously.

”The ancient tomb collapsed!” Yang Xiaohan was somewhat exasperated, ”Those tomb robbers now we don’t know if they’ve escaped, anyway, since last night we arrived at Yunling, we’ve been on guard here, but after waiting several hours no one came out, we were just about to send people in, then we heard a loud bang and after that, the ancient tomb collapsed!”

Huo Sining was also surprised, firstly she didn’t expect the police bureau and Cultural Relics Bureau to be so efficient, dealing with it urgently overnight, secondly, she had just learned about the tomb tunnel collapse, she was planning to rescue Uncle Tong, but Yang Xiaohan and her team had already reached the scene overnight, so there was nothing she could do rushedly, only plan otherwise.

Huo Sining hurriedly drove towards Yunling, arriving at the cave to find plenty of villagers already watching from the foot of the mountain.

The noise from the ancient tomb collapse at dawn was so significant that many residents nearby heard the commotion, so they spontaneously gathered at the mountain foot for a spectacle in the early morning.

But the cave was already cordoned off by the police, so the residents hoping to see what happened couldn’t get in, only stretched their necks watching from the outskirts.

Huo Sining was also stopped outside. She quickly called Yang Xiaohan, who hurriedly came out to receive her, leading Huo Sining to the incident site, to the giant stone she saw the night before. But now the tomb interior had collapsed, Huo Sining could only see a dark hole entrance, further in was blocked by collapsed rocks, making entry to the main burial chamber impossible.

Seeing this, Huo Sining felt a bit lost: ”What should we do now?”

”I’ve already notified Mr. Zhou, he’s very angry about this and has urgently sent several archaeological experts here, the current situation is unclear, we dare not act rashly, we can only protect the scene and wait for the experts to arrive!”

Yang Xiaohan, aware of Huo Sining’s identity, quickly explained.

Upon hearing Yang Xiaohan say her master would send people over, Huo Sining naturally had no objection, nodded, and returned to the car with Qibao at the mountain foot. Having reached the hotel with Qibao at dawn yesterday and barely sleeping for four hours, if it weren’t for this major incident, they’d likely still be sleeping at the hotel, since they couldn’t assist now, she stayed in the car, and she and Qibao huddled in the seat for some rest.
