Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1037: Chapter 1033: Armored Vehicles Deploy!

With Chief Lu’s approval, Huo Sining had fewer concerns. Not long after Wu Jun delivered the container to the warehouse, Huo Sining found an excuse to send Wu Jun away, then she snuck back into the warehouse alone, and with a wave of her hand, moved thousands of antiques out from the storage ring.

She carefully sorted these antiques according to their categories, and then packed them all into the containers.

As for the dozens of exhibits that needed to be confiscated, they were packed separately in another box.

After finishing all this, it was already past three in the afternoon. Huo Sining returned to her car to rest for a while, then called Huang Zhenlong.

Director Huang hadn’t even had lunch. After receiving Huo Sining’s call, he couldn’t wait to call Zhou Shitao, and anxiously gathered several old experts together, eagerly waiting for Huo Sining’s call.

Upon receiving Huo Sining’s instructions, the group quickly set off for the suburbs.

Zhao Yang and Liu Cheng received fifty thousand yuan in rent all of a sudden, their pockets well-filled. They decided to indulge in a feast at a nearby farm restaurant. After eating and drinking their fill, they were preparing to return to the city when Liu Cheng suddenly remembered something and said, ”Oh no, we were so focused on eating that we forgot something.”

Zhao Yang, having had some alcohol, was a bit flushed and his mind a little fuzzy: ”What thing?”

”The electric meter! We forgot to check the electric meter! Since they’re renting the warehouse, they must be storing something there, and they’ll definitely be using electricity. If we don’t check the meter, we won’t know how much electricity they use, and if they don’t pay the electricity bill, are we supposed to cover it? No way, we can’t take this loss!”

Liu Cheng slapped his forehead, realizing his oversight, and pulled the groggy Zhao Yang along to the warehouse.

But as soon as they reached the road leading to the warehouse, from a distance, they saw that the Maybach was still parked on the tarmac in front of the warehouse door.

Liu Cheng was puzzled and couldn’t help but shake Zhao Yang a few times, curiously asking, ”Hey, Yang Zi, take a look, isn’t that the Maybach? Why is it still there? We’ve already rented the warehouse to her, and it’s been a whole morning; why is she still there?”

Zhao Yang waved his hand, looked blankly at the Maybach a few times, and mumbled, ”Maybe she’s waiting for someone. That girl looks like a student. Why would she rent such a big warehouse? It must be for someone else. And considering she can afford to drive a Maybach, it’s not like she’s short on money. Maybe her family’s villa has a basement, and renting our less than two hundred square meter warehouse is just not normal.”

The drunkard’s words might not be that credible, but upon hearing Zhao Yang’s remark, a thought suddenly flashed in Liu Cheng’s mind, and his heart suddenly sank. He slapped Zhao Yang on the head, gave him a flick, and angrily said:

”Damn it, why didn’t you say this earlier, damn it, we totally forgot to ask, what the hell is this woman renting our warehouse for!”

”For someone with so much money, if it were merely for storing some items, why not rent a big factory, and instead come to rent our crappy place? Isn’t that ridiculous?”

”No, something’s definitely wrong here, this woman renting our warehouse, could it be she’s up to something illegal? Could she actually be a drug lord, using the warehouse to manufacture drugs?”

”Yang Zi, wake up, what if she really is dealing drugs? We’ve rented the warehouse to her, and if the police investigate later, won’t we also get into trouble?”

Zhao Yang, feeling the alcohol take effect, simply slumped onto Liu Cheng’s back, using him as a cushion, snoring away, sleeping soundly.

Liu Cheng was instantly furious, turned around and directly threw Zhao Yang to the ground, looked up at the Maybach parked there, stomped his foot, and decided to leave Zhao Yang there and sneak back into the warehouse to check things out.

Unexpectedly, as he hadn’t walked back more than a few steps, he heard a commotion not far behind, and with the rumbling sounds, it felt as if the ground was trembling.

What is this sound? An earthquake?

Liu Cheng couldn’t help but feel a shiver run down his spine, instantly realizing the danger. After a few seconds of shock, he turned back to pull Zhao Yang, intending to run with him.

Zhao Yang, still in a daze of sleep, was roughly pulled up by Liu Cheng and instantly got irritated, raising his head impatiently, he scolded: ”Old Cheng, what are you doing, I’m sleeping, why are you pulling me?!!”

Liu Cheng was fuming: ”Still sleeping, sleep your ass, if you keep sleeping your damn life will be gone, didn’t you hear? It’s an earthquake!”

Zhao Yang opened his eyes, only to see an armored vehicle approaching not far away, and couldn’t help but snicker: ”What earthquake, are you stupid? What kind of earthquake is this, do you feel the ground shaking? Are you blind, didn’t you see an armored vehicle coming... hic... this is really weird, this suburb doesn’t even have an armed forces department, where did the armored vehicles pop out from...”

Zhao Yang was still babbling drunkenly, but Liu Cheng could no longer hear a word he said.

He stood there dumbfoundedly, just staring ahead, as he watched three tanks rolling with cannon barrels rumbling towards them, regardless of any obstacles blocking their path. In the face of these steel dragons, anything seemed utterly vulnerable.

Under the crushing wheels, weeds and shrubs by the roadside, even obstructive stones were relentlessly crushed. The dark cannon barrel pointed right at where Zhao Yang and Liu Cheng stood near the wall, and seeing this, Liu Cheng had no doubt that if the steel dragon fired, the wall he was using as cover would instantly become rubble.

After the three tanks passed, four or five military vehicles followed closely behind, and as soon as they stopped, soldiers in camouflage uniforms jumped down one by one.

With both tanks and military vehicles creating such a big stir, Liu Cheng, hiding at the foot of the wall, was scared stiff by the sight before him.

He was just an ordinary civilian, having never seen such a display of force? Seeing soldiers and armored vehicles on TV was one thing, but now seeing the dark cannon barrel almost pointing at his forehead was a whole different level of shock, causing him to tremble involuntarily.

What shocked Liu Cheng even more was that the people who got off the vehicles, although their faces were smeared black and green with paint, making it impossible to see what they looked like, the first row had two people with ranks on their shoulders, both of whom surprisingly had two stripes and four small stars.

Behind them were about thirty people dressed similarly to the two in front, with the minimum rank of two stripes and two small stars on their shoulders!
