Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 498: Chapter 494: The Benefits of Upgrading

”Wait a minute!”

Seeing that she couldn’t get the antidote without signing the agreement, Xu Lian panicked. She was greedy for money, but lacking money was always better than losing her life.

During the past ten-plus days, they had been to several large and small hospitals in S City, yet not a single one could diagnose their illness. If it couldn’t be cured, they would have to live this way for the rest of their lives.

Moreover, after hearing that their condition would deteriorate in three days from Huo Sining, the thought of not being able to meet people anymore made Xu Lian shiver subconsciously and she hastily called out to Huo Sining.

Huo Sining’s heart leaped with joy, but when she turned around, her face was expressionless as she looked at Xu Lian, ”Ready to sign?”

Xu Lian gritted her teeth. ”I can sign, but you have to give us more money—five hundred thousand, no, a million! Give us a million, or I won’t sign!”

Huo Sining’s face darkened. ”You’re not in a position to negotiate terms with me! Sign or don’t sign, it’s not me who will suffer!”

This time Huo Sining couldn’t be bothered to waste time with these people and turned to leave the rented room.

A million was nothing to her, but giving a million to Xu Lian was absolutely out of the question.

In the Huo family, she had been slaving away for more than a decade, and Xu Lian did nothing for her apart from humiliating and berating her. She had never fulfilled even the slightest duty as an aunty.

Furthermore, the hundred thousand inheritance her mother had left her was also seized by Xu Lian. How could she possibly retain any kinship for such a person?

Huo Sining could be kind to the Huang Family, the Gu Family, even the Lu Family because, at the very least, they had reciprocated with equal warmth, but Huo Yong and Xu Lian only knew how to take, with no idea how to give.

Such people still wanted her money? She would be out of her mind to agree!

Seeing Huo Sining storm out, Wu Jun quickly followed her in a few strides. ”Miss Huo, that agreement... is it really effective?”

Huo Sining shook her head. ”No, it has no legal effect.”

”What?” Wu Jun was stunned. ”Then you...”

Huo Sining’s mouth curled into a smile. ”The agreement to sever family ties can’t stand legally and has no legal effectiveness, but it’s enough to scare those illiterates. Xu Lian and the others don’t understand legal matters. Help me find a lawyer and make another trip tomorrow. They will surely believe it to be true.”

Wu Jun was puzzled. ”Will they sign it, then?”

Huo Sining nodded, a hint of certainty flashing in her eyes. ”They will, because selfish people value their lives more!”

After handing the antidote to Wu Jun, Huo Sining decided to let him handle everything regarding this matter. She was going to be very busy and had no patience to deal with Xu Lian and her ilk.

After making a phone call to Song Chunxue, she found out that they were living near the school district villas, which surprised Huo Sining.

It turned out that as soon as the plan to come to S City was made, Song Chunxue had called Song Hui. Song Hui was very efficient: he had found a homeowner before the year ended and, not far from the school district villa where Huo Sining was staying, he bought another villa at a high price.

In just over a week, the house was renovated. By the time Huo Sining went to Taicheng, Song Chunxue had brought Rui Qi to S City, and they had settled down.

Upon learning that Huo Sining had returned to S City, Song Chunxue was naturally overjoyed. Huo Sining’s return meant that her son could start receiving medical treatment, signifying that it wouldn’t be long before Lu Ruiqi could recover as a normal person, standing up again.

Following the room number provided by Song Chunxue, Huo Sining arrived at the Lu Family Villa. As she reached the front gate, she saw Lu Ruiqi and Song Chunxue sitting in the courtyard, basking in the sun.

”Auntie.” Since Huo Sining had acknowledged Chief Lu as her grandfather, his wife and he insisted that she also change how she addressed them, asking her to call Lu Zhenghang ”Uncle Lu” and Song Chunxue ”Auntie,” to signify their close relationship.

”You’re here.” Seeing Huo Sining, Song Chunxue quickly opened the door to welcome her in.

There were two security guards in the courtyard who, upon seeing Huo Sining enter, wanted to search her. Song Chunxue stopped them.

”She’s family, Miss Huo, Huo Sining. She’s in charge of treating Rui Qi’s illness. From now on, when she comes, you can just open the door, no need to check her,” Song Chunxue explained to the two guards.

The guards sized up Huo Sining and nodded their heads, asking no further questions and returning to their posts.

”Are you comfortable living here?” asked Huo Sining with concern.

Song Chunxue nodded, ”The air here is better than in the Imperial Capital, and there are no sandstorms. Plus, I don’t have to socialize with those high-ranking ladies anymore. Just enjoying the sun every day, I’m almost too happy to think about Shu.”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh: ”The climate in S City is indeed very good. Since you’ve come here, treat it as a vacation. Stay for a while, and once Rui Qi’s leg is better, then you can go back.”

Song Chunxue pursed her lips without speaking, but her eyes were expectantly looking at Huo Sining.

She didn’t speak up to hurry things along, but Huo Sining read the meaning in her eyes, smiled, and took out a document:

”This is a dietary plan I’ve put together, all beneficial to Rui Qi’s condition. From now on, you just need to prepare his meals according to this schedule every day,” said Huo Sining.

”My granduncle’s leg was a difficult case, so I used Qigong Massage and herbal baths as an auxiliary treatment. But Rui Qi’s condition is different. He’s still young, and if medication can be avoided, it’s better not to use it. I’ll do my best to treat him.”

Having said this, Huo Sining had the guards take Lu Ruiqi to a separate room inside the villa, which had been prepared in advance, specifically for his treatment.

Huo Sining looked around the room—its privacy was excellent with windows facing outside the building, and once the door was closed, there was basically no concern about being seen.

She nodded in satisfaction, instructed the guards to watch the door, closed it, and began treating Lu Ruiqi.

After Old Fangzhang’s recitation and spiritual cleansing, the Azure Pearl’s Spiritual Energy had leapt in quality; when treating Huang Chengyi previously, several consecutive hours left Huo Sining feeling exhausted.

But this time, after treating Lu Ruiqi for several hours and using hours of Spiritual Energy, the Azure Pearl remained lustrous and transparent, having depleted less than one-fifth of its total energy.

Not only that, when she treated Master Huang previously, she couldn’t clearly see inside the body and needed to use Spiritual Energy to carefully explore, which not only consumed energy but also wasted time.

But this time, to her surprise, with the Heavenly Eye, her vision was like a combination of X-ray and magnification, making the blocked blood vessels, damaged nerves, and even viral-infected cells in Lu Ruiqi’s lower limbs visible without anywhere to hide.

All she needed to do was to use Spiritual Energy to clean and repair these problematic areas, which saved energy and increased efficiency.
