Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 456: Chapter 452: Back at the Police Station

Seeing that the few police officers seemed unmoved, Huo Sining turned her head towards An Yueru and said indifferently:

”This set of enamel I just bought from a street vendor for thirty thousand yuan. It contains five replicas of civil kilns made after the liberation, and the other two, Miss An, I don’t think I need to elaborate, you should know what they are.”

”I understand what you’re up to, and I’m not going to waste words with you now. I’ll be straightforward with you. Today, your trick to get me into the station, I have no complaints.”

”But let me tell you something, don’t even think about coveting those two pieces of enamel. They are intact now, but if there is a single sign of damage on them when they get back to my hands, just wait and see how you’re going to die!”

After returning from Chun Jing Garden, Liu Manshu only told An Yueru that Zhou Shitao had taken a closed-door disciple named Huo Sining.

Due to the complicated relationship between the Huang Family and the Liang Family, Liu Manshu did not speak about Huo Sining’s identity for fear of dragging up old favors and grudges.

An Yueru’s understanding of Huo Sining still came from searching online, Miss Magic, an orphan with tens of millions in assets and shares of a research project at some institute. To An Yueru, these were insignificant details.

An Yueru felt that someone like Huo Sining, a solitary orphan girl, had no significant background. Even if she had some foundation in S City, what would that amount to? Even a dragon from S City had to coil itself up when it came to the Imperial Capital.

Besides, her An family was a prestigious household, not some insignificant character with no background. Wasn’t it easy to deal with a little commoner like that, just fabricate a charge against her, deal with her quietly later, and would such a trifle even cause any trouble?

Seeing that Huo Sining was still being tough-minded, An Yueru instantly became infuriated and turned to Chief Tian to scold, ”Why are you wasting words with her, just take her back and interrogate her until she confesses!”

Upon hearing this, Chief Tian’s eyes hardened, and he signaled the other police officers with a glance. He waved his hand and ordered, ”Take the person away, bring her along!”

Huo Sining did not resist, and simply went along with the police officers onto the police car, but the look she gave An Yueru was tinged with a hint of pity.

Huo Sining had always adhered to the principle of keeping a low profile, but this low profile did not mean she was easy to bully. She might not be a rich family’s daughter, but she was still a law-abiding citizen. These police abusing their power... just because the tiger didn’t show its might, did they really take her for a sick cat?

While Huo Sining was taken away by the police car on this end, Gu Xu’s face had turned completely sullen on the other end after receiving a phone call.

”Whose call is that?”

Chief Lu was playing chess with Master Gu and noticed that Gu Xu looked upset. His hand, holding a white jade chess piece, paused, and he looked up curiously.

Gu Xu replied, ”Your granddaughter.”

Hearing this, Chief Lu joked, ”A call from Miss Huo, you should be happy, why the long face? What did she say?”

Gu Xu said sternly, word by word, ”She said—she was arrested by a few policemen at Dashilan.”

”What?!” On hearing this, both Master Gu and Chief Lu in the room turned grim.

”The name!”

The young officer responsible for taking Huo Sining into custody was tasked with recording her boarding information.

A sneer appeared on Huo Sining’s face, ”Didn’t your Chief Tian already confirm my identity with Miss An? You should have known my name in advance.”

As soon as the young officer heard Huo Sining’s sarcastic words, his face darkened and he said coldly:

”I advise you to be honest. This is the police station; you’re charged with a serious crime of privately hoarding cultural relics. If you confess honestly, we can consider a lesser penalty. But if you keep being stubborn, I won’t go easy on you just because you’re a woman!”

Huo Sining smiled and nodded, ”I understand. You police have ways of making people confess, right?”

The officer smirked with satisfaction, ”Good that you know! Name, gender, age, address, report them honestly!”

Instead of stubbornly keeping silent, Huo Sining seriously provided all the personal information the officer wanted to know.

As the officer finished writing down Huo Sining’s age and started on the address, he suddenly froze. Something about the address was off.

He looked up at Huo Sining, realization dawning on him, and quickly stood up to catch Chief Tian’s eye with a meaningful look.

Chief Tian was taken aback and subconsciously followed the officer out, ”What’s up?”

The officer handed the report to Chief Tian, but Tian’s focus was on the still blank page below, cursing, ”How long has it been, and it’s still not recorded? Hurry up with the pace and get her to confess so we can file the case!”

The junior officer was almost in tears, ”No, Chief, look at this address!”

”I told you to properly record the statement! What address...” Chief Tian was infuriated, tempted to lash out, but his eyes fell on the officer’s report. Upon seeing the words Chang’an Street, Xicheng District, he suddenly stopped short.

”She lives on Chang’an Street?!” Chief Tian was not without experience; he had worked in the Chang’an Street area before, serving as a patrolling officer for four years before being transferred to the post of team leader at Dashilan Front Street and gradually climbing to his current position as chief.

Since Chang’an Street was home to the wealthy and prestigious, Chief Tian had dedicated himself earnestly to his four years patrolling there, learning to recite the names of every household head in almost every alley.

”This is the Huang Family’s address. I’ve been there; there’s definitely no such person!”

Chief Tian had once done a security presentation at the Huang Family’s and had met the family members. He recalled all the faces in his mind and confirmed there was no Huo Sining there, immediately concluding the address was false.

”This woman is playing me?!”

The young officer was livid upon hearing this, having taken the trouble to record the statement, only to be tricked by a woman!

Seething, the junior officer grabbed the report and charged towards the interrogation room, unexpectedly colliding with a female officer coming from the opposite direction.

”Hey, can’t you watch where you’re going? Are you blind--” The officer, stumbling from the impact, began to complain, only to choke on his words as he looked up to see a woman glaring at him with a frosty face.

”Who are you calling blind?!”

The icy voice escaped from the woman’s lips, startling the young officer.

”Sorry, sorry, Sister Shuang, heh, I didn’t see it was you. I swear I didn’t do it on purpose.”

Seeing the female officer’s gaze sweep over him like a knife, the officer forced a laugh and repeatedly apologized.

Zhang Shuang, expressionless, picked up the fallen statement from the floor and stood. However, as her eyes scanned over the name on the statement, her pupils suddenly tightened.
