Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 455: Chapter 451: Hiding Stolen Goods

Huo Sining was about to leave when suddenly, An Yueru rushed up and grabbed his arm, her complexion turning somewhat ugly.

She lowered her voice and said, ”Ten times the price is enough for you to earn hundreds of thousands, which is enough for a down payment on a house in the Imperial Capital. I advise you to be sensible and not end up with neither money nor goods!”

Heh, resorting to threats when the deal doesn’t go through?

Huo Sining’s expression turned stern, and a wave of anger surged in his eyes as he retorted with a laugh,

”Miss, doing business is supposed to be a matter of mutual consent. Are you suggesting that if you can’t force a purchase, you’re ready to turn to outright robbery? What a joke. I paid real money to buy this enamel from that gentleman, and I wouldn’t give in even if it were the son of a high official standing here, let alone you!”

Huo Sining’s words were spoken loudly, and naturally, Ma Liwen heard them too, leaving him both angry and indignant.

This was Antique Street, bustling with passersby, and everyone naturally took notice of the commotion here.

Especially since Ma Liwen had appeared on TV treasure appraisal programs and shared the stage with Ji Kun, he was somewhat of a public figure. Almost no one who hunted for treasures on Antique Street did not recognize him. When people saw Ma Liwen getting into an argument, their gazes naturally turned here.

And many who loved a spectacle gathered around, beginning to point and whisper, buzzing with discussion.

Ma Liwen might have been petty, but he was also concerned about his face. He had carefully crafted the image of a learned and virtuous expert in public, which he couldn’t allow to be ruined by a young girl.

His face turned beet red as he glared daggers at Huo Sining before turning his head to sternly scold An Yueru,

”An Yueru, what do you think you’re doing? Have you forgotten everything I’ve told you? This is Antique Street, not your home. Don’t treat antiques with the same attitude you have at home! If you don’t change your ways, you can forget about going on any more field studies; you’d better go home and reflect on your behavior first!”

Having said his piece with an air of righteousness, Ma Liwen still reluctantly glanced at the set of porcelain bowls in Huo Sining’s hand before he turned and stomped away, gritting his teeth in frustration.

The girl standing beside him looked worriedly at An Yueru, seeming as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately, she did not speak up and turned to follow Ma Liwen out.

An Yueru, scolded by Ma Liwen in front of so many people, immediately turned pale and green, shaking with rage, her eyes filled with both grievance and indignation as she cast a venomous look at Huo Sining and spat out three words through gritted teeth, ”Just you wait!”

Seeing An Yueru taking out her phone seemingly to make a call, Huo Sining couldn’t help but shake her head and laugh.

There was nothing worthwhile to say to such a brainless girl; An Yueru calling someone was nothing more than to deal with her.

But Huo Sining was not worried; she hadn’t done anything illegal, and with her current status, there really was no one who dared to mess with her.

If An Yueru truly had the guts to snatch something from her hands, then Huo Sining couldn’t guarantee that she wouldn’t use some tricks to uproot the An family altogether.

With an air of nonchalance, Huo Sining shrugged her shoulders and walked away. She then loitered around the antique shops in Dashilan, experimenting with the Heavenly Eye several times.

Given that the genuine articles in the antique stores were naturally more authentic than the scattered stalls outside, she discovered on testing that her previous conjecture was indeed correct.

Any antique that had some years on it, she could see a purple aura on those antiques.

Moreover, the color and concentration of the purple aura would vary with the length of time the object had existed, sometimes deep, sometimes light, sometimes dense, sometimes faint. Through the purple aura, Huo Sining could essentially determine the authenticity and age of an antique.

To Huo Sining, this was absolutely a tremendous surprise.

With this astonishing discovery, her subsequent treasure-hunting journey could be said to be a breeze, effortless.

She found treasures at several small stalls, all of which the sellers hadn’t recognized, picking them up easily and for very little money. Although the items themselves were not of particularly high value, Huo Sining was in a good mood.

When she had too many things in her hands, she took the opportunity when no one was paying attention to stuff all the inconspicuous items she had bought into her storage ring, including that nondescript black square stool. In the end, she just carried the set of enamel color porcelain, ready to make her way back home.

She had only gone halfway when she saw An Yueru leading five or six policemen, rushing over with great momentum.

Huo Sining was slightly startled, and then she realized what was going on. It turned out that An Yueru had lost her mind and was indeed looking for help to rob her openly!

Huo Sining was not stupid; she immediately took out her phone from her bag and called Gu Xu for the first time, ”I’m at Dazhalan, someone has called the police to look for trouble with me.”

While she was speaking, the police hurried over. An Yueru pointed at Huo Sining with a smug look, ”Chief Tian, it’s her!”

The police chief, after hearing An Yueru’s words, didn’t say a word and pulled out a pair of handcuffs from his pocket. Without waiting for Huo Sining to speak, he snatched the phone from Huo Sining’s hand and hung up, then with a snap, cuffed the handcuffs on Huo Sining’s wrist.

Huo Sining’s face darkened instantly. Not to mention that she hadn’t violated the law, even if she had done something illegal, it was far too irregular for the police to handcuff someone without speaking a word. Could it be that just because one is a policeman, they can arrest people at will without even stating the charge?

With intense anger in her eyes, Huo Sining stared at the captain, yet the corners of her mouth curved slightly upward as she asked calmly, ”Excuse me, officer, what are you doing? May I know what crime I have committed?”

The police officer didn’t expect Huo Sining to remain so composed at such a time. But surprised as he might be, he still had to do what he had to do, especially with the An family’s young miss watching from behind.

Chief Tian looked towards An Yueru and saw her nodding at him. He felt a secret delight, knowing that his chances of promotion were hopeful.

Turning back, Chief Tian’s cold gaze swept over the set of enamel color porcelain in Huo Sining’s hands. He laughed coldly, reached out, and took the porcelain bowl into his hands:

”Don’t you know what crime you’ve committed? This set of antiques is a national-level cultural relic that has just been unearthed. You have purchased it illegally and are suspected of concealing national treasure-level cultural relics. Now that we have both the person and the evidence, please come to the Public Security Bureau with us and clearly explain all that you need to explain!”

A serious accusation was made. Chief Tian spoke with a face full of righteousness, as if Huo Sining truly had hidden stolen goods and was an utterly unforgivable criminal.

”The police are really something, aren’t they? You can arrest people just by slapping a random charge on them?”

Huo Sining looked coldly at the few police officers and narrowed her eyes as she spoke.
