Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 491: Chapter 487 Porcelain Bumper

Huo Sining had heard about the scam artists from Su Qingqing as well, because Yin Yizhai had encountered such reckless scammers before, and they were severely dealt with by Manager Lu and Yin Zeyan.

Huo Sining had learned a trick from Su Qingqing’s story. She smiled, picked up the forgotten camera from the side.

This person was actually a scam artist?!

Li Xuanbing, standing by Huo Sining’s side, was startled by her words, and waited for the middle-aged man’s response with a serious face.

If there had been something wrong with the incense burner, then if Huo Sining hadn’t timely stopped her, her rash touch could have created an indefensible situation by now.

The onlooking crowd also realized in an instant. According to the original scenario, this man was a fraudster, and if it weren’t for this young lady’s quick thinking, he might have succeeded!

The middle-aged man’s scheme was exposed by Huo Sining, and he became furious, ”Are you calling me a scam artist?!”

Huo Sining shook her head and smiled in denial, ”I never said that. Please do not wrong a good person.”

The middle-aged man was fuming, ”Is this the attitude of a national employee? Don’t think that I can’t do anything to you just because you work for the government; I warn you, my son is a civil servant!”

Huo Sining laughed at his words, ”Sir, civil servants should even more abide by the law. Where might your son be employed? If you don’t mind, you can invite him to listen in and see who is actually the one with a problem!”

As she spoke, Huo Sining raised her head and lifted the camera in her hand, ”I forgot to mention, just now I took a photo of your incense burner. From this angle, the photo clearly shows that there seems to be a problem with one of the feet of your tripod censer. Despite the cover-up, when enhanced, the photo clearly shows fracture traces.”

”If you insist on our authentication, that’s fine. But please confirm the issue with this foot in front of everyone before we proceed. Confirmation is easy, you just need to give the incense burner a light push with your hand.”

Ding Liang had been listening to the ins and outs of the situation and upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, he quickly stood in front of her to shield her, turning to the middle-aged man and demanded firmly, ”Sir, please confirm the issue first!”

The man glared at Huo Sining venomously, his eyes flickering with intense anger and bitterness, but he made no move to approach.

Huo Sining was not afraid of him. Seeing the man’s sullen face, she added, ”Fraud is punishable by imprisonment, you know. You said your son is a civil servant? I wonder how he views scam artists?”

The middle-aged man’s figure shifted slightly, his gaze flickering between Huo Sining and Ding Liang, ”You can’t scare me. My son...”

At that moment, Gu Xu, accompanied by a few soldiers, was walking out from the campsite in a hurry. Seeing Huo Sining and a few others seemingly in an argument, he paused, turned, and walked towards the appraisal area.

”What’s the matter?” Gu Xu asked in a deep voice.

The middle-aged man looked up to see Gu Xu and the other soldiers in uniform approaching sternly and was immediately so scared that he shuddered, saying dryly, ”Forget it, forget it, it’s no use talking to you people. I won’t have it appraised! A young appraiser like you, you can tell you’re not that competent!”

With that, the middle-aged man hastily rewrapped the tripod censer in cloth, then clutched it to his chest and ran out of the appraisal area as fast as lightning, disappearing into the crowd in the blink of an eye.

The middle-aged man ran away so fast, it was as if he was being chased by ghosts.

Before Huo Sining and the others could react, the man had disappeared without a trace.

Those watching the scene could easily guess what was going on. Some laughed and jeered, while others were stunned by the recent events and left with a dark look after glancing at Huo Sining, giving up on their appraisals and dejectedly walking away with their items.

Having come back from a restroom break, Song Leyin, after hearing the whole story from Li Xuanbing, felt a mix of relief and fear, and her look towards Huo Sining was filled with gratitude as she gave a thumbs-up:

”Huo Sining, you’re amazing! If it hadn’t been for your taking my spot just then, I might have fallen for that scammer’s trick myself!”

Huo Sining smiled and said casually, ”It’s nothing really. In the antique business, there are too many scammers. It’s actually not a clever trick. To deal with these people, you have to overpower them with your presence. Once you show weakness, they’ll take the opportunity to make trouble. These types are bullies who fear the bold. As long as you don’t fear them, there’s nothing to worry about.”

Li Xuanbing said, somewhat indignantly, ”That scammer was scheming for sure, probably targeted Song Leyin because she’s a girl and thought she would be easy to bully. Damn it, I should have caught him earlier!”

Huo Sining shook her head with a smile: ”Those slippery eels aren’t easy to catch. Who knows, we might have tried to grab him and then he’d deliberately damage the Incense Burner, and then he’d turn the situation on its head, leaving us unable to clear things up.”

At this point, Huo Sining lifted the camera in her hand, opened the album, and boasted with a self-satisfied expression:

”I forgot to say, I didn’t just take photos earlier, I also recorded what happened. With the evidence, we can just let the police handle it. To deal with such people, you need to strike hard and fast. With testimony and physical evidence, even if he had extraordinary means, he wouldn’t be able to talk his way out.”

”My God, aren’t you just too cunning?!”

Seeing the video of Huo Sining confronting the middle-aged man playing on the camera, Song Leyin expressed her surprise:

”I didn’t expect you to seem so gentle and soft on the outside, Huo Sining, yet act so ruthlessly. That scammer surely choked on his loss against you!”

Gu Xu, having learned the details from others, chuckled quietly to himself as he stood aside.

Others might not know, but he was well aware. Huo Sining was nothing but a fox in sheep’s clothing, appearing weak but full of cunning and trickery, far more sly than anyone else.

After the incidents with The Droplet Guanyin and the Hetian kidnapping, Gu Xu realized this fact. Huo Sining was not to be taken lightly; if anyone truly angered her, she would retaliate without hesitation.

Huo Sining just shrugged. In a few years, smartphones will be everywhere, and everyone will have a mobile PC in hand.

You can see young people shooting videos with their phones on the streets, and phone calls might be recorded. Anyone can act like a reporter; everyone could be a detective.

Compared to those, her strategy just now was pretty mundane, not really anything special.
