Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 244: Chapter 241: Ouyang Jun’s Great Discovery Chapter 244: Chapter 241: Ouyang Jun’s Great Discovery Su Jinyuan is Su Qingqing’s brother, and Bai Yishan is Su Jinyuan’s partner. Huo Sining is Su Qingqing’s cousin, while Xu Zi fancies Su Qingqing. Ah, what a mess this all is.

Ouyang Jun felt like he must have overlooked some important detail, but when he tried to untangle his thoughts, he found his mind was in such a mess that he couldn’t make heads or tails of it.

Unable to help himself, he stretched out his hand to rub his head into a bird’s nest, walked out of the office, and decided to get some fresh air to clear his mind.

“Hey, let’s go back together tonight.”

As he walked out the door, he heard two female employees at the secretary’s front desk chatting a few steps away.

“No way, my boyfriend has asked me out for dinner tonight, I have to leave soon!”

“Wow, having a Western meal, where are you going to eat?”

“Aesces, the one on Nanjing Road, it’s super awesome, both the dishes and the atmosphere are great.”

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Jun paused mid-step, a thought flashed through his mind, and suddenly, it was as though he had achieved an epiphany, and the whole person was enlightened.

According to Huo Sining, Gu Xu was trying to woo Su Qingqing through her, which is why he arranged a dinner with Huo Sining to win her over, but isn’t Aesces a couple’s restaurant? Why would Xu Zi ask her to eat there?!

Having found that thread to pull, as he unraveled it, the once jumbled thoughts in his head became orderly in an instant.

Having figured out the key part, Ouyang Jun couldn’t help but pound the desk and wrap his arms around his stomach as he laughed into a ball: “Haha, hahaha, I’m dying of laughter!”

Realizing the intricacies of the situation, Ouyang Jun almost laughed himself silly.

Poor kid, pursuing a girl was hard enough, but the kicker was that she had no idea he was pursuing her, thinking he was engaging in some roundabout strategy, even bringing a third wheel to the date.

Ouyang Jun mourned for Gu Xu while also finding Huo Sining’s obliviousness amusing.

Could there be anything more tragic? Nearly thirty years of singledom, finally meeting someone he liked and ready to leave the single life, only to find the person he liked was setting him up with others, playing matchmaker relentlessly. What kind of divine twist was this?

Although Gu Xu didn’t live in S City, he still had his contacts there; with just one phone call, he had booked a private yacht that would allow them to embark on a two-day sea voyage over the weekend.

As soon as Friday arrived, Su Jinyuan drove the three excited women to Bund Pier.

Huo Sining was still alright, but for Su Qingqing, who had been in S City for so long, this was her first time going out to sea at night, and she was immediately overjoyed.

The car stopped at the Bund Pier car park, and according to the time and place previously arranged with Ouyang Jun and his group, they all met at the pier entrance.

At the entrance to the pier, Ouyang Jun and Gu Xu’s group were already waiting.

Huo Sining felt a bit embarrassed because for the sea outing, Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan were so excited, they packed a ton of luggage. In the end, the trunk couldn’t fit it all, and they had to go back to repack, causing a delay. What was supposed to be five o’clock ended up being five-thirty.

Fortunately, custom allowed departure by sea until six o’clock, so they were just in time.

Ouyang Jun and the others didn’t seem to care much, probably because they knew Su Jinyuan would bring three women with him. They all were experienced with women and naturally understood that getting a woman to arrive on time was practically an impossible task. Therefore, they purposely set the meeting time half an hour earlier.

When Gu Xu saw Huo Sining approaching in a relaxed and neat outfit, an eager look flashed in his eyes, unconsciously adding a touch of warmth and tenderness. His gaze fixated on that person without wavering.

Seeing Gu Xu’s unblinking stare, Ouyang Jun’s titanium alloy eyes nearly went blind from the glare.

Ouyang Jun couldn’t help but inwardly scoff, lamenting that they had all misread Gu Xu over the years. This guy wasn’t some cold and indifferent ascetic monk. He was clearly a repressed perv who didn’t show it!

At first, Ouyang Jun even doubted himself. How could Xu Zi, such a cool and aloof person, fall for Huo Sining, a green apple that wasn’t even fully ripe yet? Don’t normal men all prefer voluptuous and enchanting mature women like Bai Yishan?

But now, seeing Gu Xu’s glowing eyes, Ouyang Jun had completely given up hope. This guy’s taste was truly bizarre; no wonder they couldn’t enlighten him over so many years. It wasn’t because they weren’t trying hard enough, but because they completely misunderstood Xu Zi’s preferences.

Once they all gathered, someone started speaking, “Mr. Gu, who are these ladies?”

It was then that Huo Sining noticed a strange middle-aged man standing beside them.

Before Gu Xu could speak, Ouyang Jun had already chimed in, “Let me introduce them. This is Su Group’s Donghua’s young master, Mr. Su Jinyuan, and the owner of the yacht we will be taking today, Director Zheng Huaqing.”

The man smiled and extended his hand toward Su Jinyuan, laughing, “So this is Mr. Su! I’ve admired you for a long time, never expected to meet you in person today.”

With a glint in his eye, Su Jinyuan responded, “Director Zheng is too kind. I find Director Zheng somewhat familiar. May I ask how you are connected to Yulong Real Estate?”

A flicker of surprise passed through Zheng Huaqing’s eyes, and Ouyang Jun laughed, “You hit the nail on the head with that question. Director Zheng is the boss of Yulong Real Estate.”

Zheng Huaqing chuckled and waved his hand dismissively, “Let’s not talk about that. I’m no match for you folks. I’m just a maverick, incomparable to you young people.”

“Director Zheng is too modest. Yulong Real Estate has seen explosive growth these past two years. Your discerning vision is admirable; Su humbly concedes his inferiority,” Su Jinyuan praised.

Zheng Huaqing laughed and shook his head, “Young Master Su, let’s drop the formalities, it sounds awkward. I’m older than you guys, so do me a favor and just call me Brother Zheng.”

Upon hearing this, Su Jinyuan readily complied, addressing him as Big Brother Zheng. Zheng Huaqing’s gaze fell upon the three young women behind Su Jinyuan. After mutual introductions and greetings, they headed towards the pier.

Zheng Huaqing was a contact of Gu Xu, but Huo Sining felt the name sounded familiar and couldn’t help but feel curious. Standing at the back of the group, she quietly tugged on Gu Xu’s sleeve.

“Gu Xu,” Huo Sining called softly.

Gu Xu, who was watching Huo Sining’s movements from the corner of his eye, felt his heart lift when he saw her approach and turned his head, smiling, “Hmm?”

Huo Sining glanced at Zheng Huaqing, who was walking in front, and asked in a lowered voice, “Who is this Zheng Huaqing?”

Gu Xu’s smile instantly faded.

He had thought the girl had finally gotten a clue and realized that he liked her, but that was not the case at all.

Hearing Huo Sining inquire about someone unrelated, Gu Xu felt a wave of despondency, his voice low and sulky, “Why are you interested in him all of a sudden?”
