Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 226: Chapter 223: Flyers Chapter 226: Chapter 223: Flyers “Even the best wine stays unnoticed in a deep alley; we still need to figure out a way to increase the shop’s popularity.”

After the Douyu Conference, the business at Xianyu Shop had improved several notches and Wu Jun alone was beginning to feel overwhelmed; Huo Sining had no choice but to post another job listing to hire one more shop assistant.

However, following this incident, Huo Sining had come to understand a truth: the world was not short of talented people from the general populace, it was not that they did not know how to run their business but that they did not know how to promote it, which was why they remained unknown.

If Bai Yishan wanted her studio to grow big, neglecting promotion was not an option.

Huo Sining suggested several classic promotional strategies from future generations to Bai Yishan, and just by looking at the marketing plans, Bai Yishan was already full of admiration.

If Bai Yishan had ample funds at hand, she would definitely not hesitate to employ each of these promotional methods.

However, after giving Huo Sining a four million deposit and taking away a large batch of jadeite raw materials, she did not have much available funds left.

In addition to the shop she had just acquired, her ten million was almost completely depleted.

With the remaining money, she needed to hire shop assistants and master sculptors; Bai Yishan felt a headache just thinking about these major expenses, let alone having extra money to invest in those promotion ideas.

Huo Sining also felt the matter was tricky; she didn’t mind lending money to Bai Yishan, but given Bai Yishan’s pride, she may not be willing to accept help from others.

“Then there’s no way around it, if we can’t do otherwise, choose the simplest and most affordable option – advertise on the radio station.”

Bai Yishan felt helpless; she was cash-strapped and could only go step by step, the expensive plans had to be shelved for now.

Huo Sining nodded upon hearing this but did not quite agree, “I find that a bit low-end, and the effect would certainly not be remarkable. Jadeite isn’t an ordinary item, especially since your studio is aiming at high-end consumers from the start; just a single bracelet costs tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands. I fear ordinary people might not be able to afford it.”

Bai Yishan was of course aware that it was a thankless task, almost futile, but she felt uneasy without any promotion, so she could only take it one step at a time.

While the two were worrying over this, Su Qingqing’s call came through.

“What are you doing?”

Not long after resolving the matter with Liao Song’s Guanyin porcelain sculpture, Su Qingqing followed Professor Xie to Xiang City to inspect the Mawangdui Western Han Ancient Tomb and had been gone for over a week.

She had just returned to S City and, without taking the time to rest, she eagerly called Huo Sining.

“I’m over at Sister Yishan’s.” Huo Sining did not hide it; although Su Qingqing was often unreliable, she still had a few clever ideas, “Do you want to come over?”

“Sure!”

Su Qingqing had heard about Bai Yishan starting a workshop from Su Jinyuan, but Su Qingqing had not expected Bai Yishan to act so quickly; in just half a month, Bai Yishan’s workshop had already opened.

Even Su Jinyuan was curious about where Bai Yishan’s workshop was getting its supplies, but Bai Yishan kept her lips sealed no matter how Su Jinyuan inquired.

Thinking of the piece of High Ice Type Apple Green jadeite Huo Sining had timely provided, Su Jinyuan had also vaguely speculated, and whenever there was a chance, he would phone Huo Sining trying to fish for information through roundabout inquiries.

Huo Sining certainly knew Su Jinyuan’s intentions, so each time she pretended not to understand, which left Su Jinyuan feeling like punching cotton, completely unable to exert any force.

Huo Sining had considered selling the raw materials to Donghua, but for one, Donghua was not entirely Su Jinyuan’s personal property, as it also involved the interests of the entire Su Family Clan and external shareholders.

It wasn’t that Huo Sining didn’t trust Su Jinyuan, but Su Jinyuan couldn’t guarantee her safety either. If others learned about her supply of raw materials, it would incite envy and coveting from many, something Huo Sining dared not imagine.

She might end up not making any money and constantly living in a dangerous situation, which was the complete opposite of her principle to make money quietly and unnoticed.

Su Qingqing arrived quickly, following the address Huo Sining had sent her and soon found the place. First, she looked at the decoration of the store downstairs, and then she went up to the second floor.

“This store is really nice, and the location is well-chosen too, Sister Yishan, you’ve been quite quick in your actions,” Su Qingqing praised the store as soon as she saw it.

Su Qingqing’s attitude towards Bai Yishan had changed a lot. The trip to Pingzhou had altered her opinion of Bai Yishan, coupled with the fact that Bai Yishan’s relationship with Su Jinyuan had always been unclear. As a sister, she used to confront Bai Yishan head-on, but now she was anxious.

Su Jinyuan was hesitant and dragging his feet in pursuing a girlfriend, whereas Su Qingqing was a hot-tempered and impatient person who couldn’t stand it, urging Su Jinyuan to propose to Bai Yishan without success, so she decided to step in herself.

After all, she had once done the same thing to Huo Sining, and although it turned into an embarrassing blunder, she at least gained some experience. Su Qingqing didn’t feel embarrassed at all, and her praise for Bai Yishan poured out as if it didn’t cost anything.

Bai Yishan, on the other hand, felt awkward about Su Qingqing’s sudden change of attitude and gave her a surprised look. Seeing the smile in Su Qingqing’s eyes filled with eagerness and ambiguity, Bai Yishan understood at once and immediately felt somewhat uncomfortable.

“I owe a lot to Ningning for this shop; without her help, how could I have found this place?”

Huo Sining didn’t take credit, but Bai Yishan was clear in her heart that Huo Sining’s contribution to the workshop was no less than her own.

Huo Sining smiled, and her gaze suddenly landed on the pocket of Su Qingqing’s backpack, where a piece of light green hard paper stuck out slightly: “What’s this?”

Huo Sining had asked because she seemed to have seen a picture of a jade bracelet printed on the paper.

Upon hearing this, Su Qingqing came back to her senses and took the paper out of her backpack, pouting and saying,

“This? Oh, I saw someone distributing flyers on Nanjing Street as I was passing by. One fell straight onto my car, so I picked it up.”

Huo Sining looked down and was taken aback.

“A stone gambling competition? What is this?”

The flyer stated that in response to the Pingzhou stone gambling fair’s call, S City was preparing to hold a stone gambling competition. Anyone with a full gamble rough could participate.

On the day of the competition, the stones entered would be gambled on the spot, and whoever gambled the highest quality and most valuable jadeite would come out on top at the stone gambling competition.

The competition would award a first, second, and third prize, each with a million in cash rewards.

Reading this, Huo Sining was puzzled: “Who came up with this, so pointless. True stone gambling collectors wouldn’t participate in such a baseless event, right? Plus, having to gamble on the spot, wouldn’t it be embarrassing if the stones were cut poorly? I guess most of those who compete will be amateurs.”
