Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 242: Chapter 239: Invitation Chapter 242: Chapter 239: Invitation “`

“Rumor has it that he’s looking for his perfect patron, but some say it’s just hype,” he said, deliberately using such tactics to boost his own value. I can’t say for sure what’s really going on, I’ve only heard it from my brother, but the craftsmanship of this person is undoubtedly very exquisite beyond doubt.”

Su Qingqing felt that Bai Yishan misunderstood this person, and hurriedly explained.

Huo Sining had a different opinion after hearing this, “I think that Master Yan has a lot of character. He doesn’t seek fame or fortune, he’s probably just eccentric. People like that often have exceptional talent, and if you can really get him to agree, maybe you’ve indeed solved a big problem for Jade Beauty.”

“That’s why I said Sister Yishan should go and try her luck, maybe she’ll actually be lucky enough to answer that odd man’s question. Such a person would surely value credibility, and once he follows you out of seclusion, he’ll stay at Jade Beauty for life. Your studio will surely become much more famous, it’s definitely an opportunity that comes once in a lifetime for the development of your studio.”

Su Qingqing felt her suggestion was very reliable.

Bai Yishan and Huo Sining exchanged glances, both of them bemused.

“You make it sound so mystical; I don’t think it’s very reliable. Let’s wait until I have some time, for now, the master sculptors in the studio are not top-notch, but they can still handle the usual orders.”

Bai Yishan felt that it was better not to hold out too much hope for this, so she just smiled and changed the subject.

While Huo Sining was busy coming up with ideas for Bai Yishan, Wu Jun called to say that a customer had come to the shop and left a letter addressed to her.

“What kind of customer, how did they find Xianyu Shop?” Huo Sining found it strange. If it were someone she knew, they should have called her directly or gone to the villa. Why would they go to the shop?

“That person didn’t say, but I heard his female secretary call him Mr. Fujiwara, sounding like a person from Dongyang.”

Wu Jun hesitated for a moment, then voiced his suspicion.

Mr. Fujiwara, a Dongyang man? Huo Sining immediately thought of Fujiwara Seiho whom she had met at the fish fighting competition on Qingping Mountain. The only person from Dongyang that she knew named Fujiwara was this one.

But why would Fujiwara Seiho be looking for her? Since the day of the fish fighting competition, they hadn’t had any interaction, had they?

Huo Sining was perplexed, yet still went to Xianyu Shop to retrieve the mysterious letter from Wu Jun.

Upon tearing open the envelope, an invitation was revealed. Huo Sining’s expression turned curious as she unfolded the invitation and then was stunned.

The invitation was indeed sent by Fujiwara Seiho, which in itself was odd, but the content on the invitation was even more bizarre—it was an invite for Huo Sining to go sea fishing.

On the invitation, Fujiwara Seiho claimed to be a sea fishing enthusiast. After the fish fighting competition, he learned that Huo Sining was an expert in fish breeding and was very interested in her. He wanted to be friends with Huo Sining, but lacked contact information and feared a sudden visit might be presumptuous, so he resorted to this clumsy method.

However, with this invitation in hand, even Huo Sining couldn’t clearly define her feelings.

Huo Sining felt she couldn’t see through this Fujiwara Seiho. The day she saw him at the fish fighting competition, she had a strange feeling about him. The impression he left on her was complex, and she couldn’t tell if it was good or bad.

A person who seemed not to care about his nationality at all yet was willing to plead for his compatriots appeared contradictory.

Having been reborn once, Huo Sining, though reluctant to think of human nature as overly complex, did not believe that Fujiwara Seiho’s intention to be friends with her was that simple.

Although Fujiwara Seiho appeared gentle, Huo Sining felt that the more amiable someone seemed on the surface, the deeper their intentions were; she was sure that this man must have another purpose for approaching her.

After all, those two Chinese koi fish of hers had indeed stolen the show that day. It was quite possible that Fujiwara Seiho approached her specifically for those koi fish.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but be suspicious. She couldn’t let her guard down around a person from Dongyang; frankly, she did not want any unnecessary entanglement with him.

However, since he had personally delivered an invitation, it would be rude to reject it outright. After some thought, she responded with a tactful letter and had Wu Jun send it back to the address provided.

Wu Jun had no sooner delivered the letter to Qingping Mountain than he sold out his boss.

Gu Xu was anxious. He had traveled back and forth to S City countless times over the past month, but his progress in pursuing his girlfriend wasn’t going well. He was fretting over finding an excuse to invite Huo Sining out when he received a call from Wu Jun.

“Fujiwara Seiho invited her to go sea fishing?”

Gu Xu’s expression turned cold, and he narrowed his eyes. After a moment of silence, he asked, “And how did your boss react?”

Wu Jun recalled Huo Sining’s expression at that moment, carefully choosing his words before replying:

“The boss seemed quite conflicted. Although she politely declined Fujiwara Seiho’s invitation in her letter, she seemed a bit regretful. She appeared quite interested in sea fishing.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xu paused, tapped his fingers on the desk, and pondered for a moment before saying, “Alright, I got it.”

After hanging up with Wu Jun, Gu Xu wasted no time in calling Ouyang Jun.

Ouyang Jun was in a meeting and was startled when he saw the caller ID. He hesitated for a few seconds before answering, “Xu Zi?”

“Yeah,” Gu Xu replied indifferently, “I’ll come to S City this weekend. Let’s go sea fishing then.”

Ouyang Jun was baffled. He had known Gu Xu for many years and in his view, Gu Xu had always been a loner.

While in school, Gu Xu was a bookworm who buried himself in his studies, the exemplary child other parents cited to their own children, the natural enemy of underachievers;

After joining the military service, Gu Xu was the most determined, always first in assessments and quickly joining the special forces, rising rapidly through the ranks and leaving his less successful peers far behind;

When he retired from the military, Gu Xu took over the Gu Family’s business, working even more relentlessly, like a monk focused only on his labor. Qin Tian said that this guy was like a fairy who didn’t partake in the mundane world.

This was probably the first time Ouyang Jun received an invitation from Gu Xu to go out and have fun. He immediately wondered if he was hallucinating.

“What did you say? Go sea fishing?”

Ouyang Jun thought he must have heard wrong, or perhaps the sun had risen from the west.

How could such words come from Gu Xu’s mouth? Wasn’t he a workaholic? How could he possibly be in the mood to play?
