Urban Martial Saint

Seeing Ye Qing’s expression, Xiao Qing couldn’t help but smile gently. No matter what, at least Ye Qing still cared a lot about Huangfu Ziyu. This made Huangfu Ziyu’s sincerity toward him worthwhile.

”By the way, Ye, are you here in Eastern Province City for some specific business?” Xiao Qing said, ”Is there anything I can help with? Although the lady isn’t here, I can still help with some small tasks.”

”I really do have something I’d like your help with.” Ye Qing paused for a moment and said, ”I want to get some information about someone.”

”Who?” Xiao Qing asked.

”Huang Boxiong!” Ye Qing looked at Xiao Qing and said, ”He’s the son of Huang Jianan, the deputy secretary of the East State Municipal Committee!”

”Huang Boxiong?” Xiao Qing frowned slightly, stared at Ye Qing for a while, and said, ”Wait a moment.”

Xiao Qing got up and left the room. Ye Qing stayed, not following her out. The reason he came to ask Xiao Qing for this information was that he knew Huangfu Ziyu must have information on these people. Huangfu Ziyu, being the ruler of the entire Eastern Province’s underground forces, could not possibly be without official connections. Plus, knowing the way Huangfu Ziyu does things, she would certainly have thoroughly understood these people. The information here is unquestionably the most accurate.

Not long after Xiao Qing left, she returned with a file envelope, handing it to Ye Qing and said, ”Ye, inside here is all the information on Huang Boxiong. I don’t know what kind of enmity there is between you and Huang Boxiong, but Ye, I want to advise you on one thing. If it’s not truly a mortal enemy, it’s best not to get into conflict with these people. They hold a lot of power in the Eastern Province, with a tangled network of relationships. It’s not easy to take these people down. However, if you provoke them, even if they don’t deal with you openly, they can cause you a lot of trouble behind the scenes.”

Ye Qing accepted the file envelope and nodded, ”Thank you for the reminder, I know what I’m doing.”

Seeing Ye Qing like this, Xiao Qing didn’t try to persuade him further. She knew Ye Qing’s temper and that nothing she said would change his mind.

Ye Qing left the club with the file envelope and didn’t return to his hotel but found a café instead, where he read through the contents of the file thoroughly.

It contained lots of information about Huang Boxiong, including many of his criminal activities. Huangfu Ziyu controlled these people by leveraging such things. Many of these playboys and officials had their secrets held by Huangfu Ziyu, leaving them no choice but to be under her control, and Huang Boxiong was one of them.

If the criminal records in this file were all brought to trial, Huang Boxiong could be sentenced to death several times over. However, Ye Qing knew that with just these things, it’s impossible to overthrow Huang Boxiong completely. After all, the Huang family had deep roots in the Eastern Province, and these findings would at most put Huang Boxiong in jail for a few years. But, using these things against Huang Boxiong may not necessarily bring him down, and the Huang family would never let Ye Qing off the hook. That’s why Xiao Qing warned Ye Qing earlier.

However, Ye Qing didn’t plan to use legal means against Huang Boxiong. Having suffered several losses earlier, Ye Qing was starting to recognize the mistakes he made. Being soft-hearted and compassionate ultimately only brings hidden dangers to oneself. For dealing with evil people, cutting the weeds and digging up the roots is the true solution!

After going over the file’s contents several times, Ye Qing had basically analyzed Huang Boxiong’s personality traits. Huang Boxiong is extremely arrogant, self-willed, and retaliates against any grievances. Many of the mistakes he made were due to his arrogance or because of retaliation. For instance, the orphanage incident was also because he suffered a loss in Shenchuan and therefore plotted against Ye Qing.

While analyzing Huang Boxiong’s character, Ye Qing also noticed that during his time in Dongzhou, he had a group of followers who worked for him. Relying on these people, Huang Boxiong acted arrogantly and bullied others in Dongzhou. But due to the family’s influence, no one dared to retaliate, so his reputation in Dongzhou was terrible, even Zhao Chengshuang far away in Shenchuan had heard of it.

Having memorized this information, Ye Qing returned the file to Xiao Qing and then asked her to keep an eye on Huang Boxiong’s movements.

Xiao Qing knew that Ye Qing was serious about dealing with Huang Boxiong. Knowing she couldn’t dissuade him, she could only assist Ye Qing with these tasks.

Ye Qing first went back to the hotel. Along the way, he could clearly feel someone was following him. Without a doubt, it was definitely those mercenaries. However, Ye Qing pretended not to notice them. And after suffering several setbacks before, these mercenaries were now more cautious. Even though Ye Qing was alone, they did not dare to confront him directly. It seemed they planned to figure out Ye Qing’s whereabouts before making a move.

Back at the hotel, before entering his room, Ye Qing paid special attention to the door. The thread he had previously hung was no longer there, indicating that the door had been opened while he was gone.

Noticing this, Ye Qing became highly alert. He placed his hand on the door, pretending to prepare to push it open, while his other hand went into his pocket to fetch his phone. Pretending to take a call, he walked away while talking and did not return to his room.

In the lobby, two men with newspapers sitting on the sofa were secretly observing Ye Qing. Seeing him not enter his room but rather walk out while on the phone made them somewhat surprised and anxious. As Ye Qing walked out of the lobby, one of them quickly got up and moved to an empty hallway, called their captain, and reported Ye Qing’s situation in Stick Country language.

”He didn’t go back to his room?” The captain was quite surprised and asked, ”Then where did he go?”

”I don’t know, it seems someone called him out!”

”Such a coincidence?” The captain was even more confused, pondered for a moment, and suddenly said in a deep voice, ”No, that guy Ye has found out we’re following him!”

”Ah? That can’t be?” The man with the newspaper exclaimed, ”He didn’t even pay attention to our people, let alone he would still dare to come and go alone if he found out we were trailing him?”

”This person is inherently a formidable Special Forces, very difficult to deal with, so we mustn’t underestimate him. He might be setting a trap for us, waiting for us to take the bait!” The captain paused and said seriously, ”No matter if he has found us or not, we need to replace the bomb in the room now!”

”Replace... replace it with what?” The newspaper man asked in astonishment.

”Replace it with a remote-control bomb!” The captain said sternly, ”We cannot use a trip-wire bomb now; this person’s alertness is very high. If he doesn’t open the door himself, our trip-wire bomb won’t hurt him and may even alert him. If he knows we’re in Dongzhou, he’ll be even more cautious, and killing him will be much harder. We’d better set a remote-control bomb. No matter who opens the door, unless we press the remote, the bomb won’t explode. If the bomb doesn’t go off, Ye Qing will surely think the room is safe, that there is no bomb, and he’ll go in. Only when Ye Qing is in the room, then we detonate the bomb, he’ll be done for!”

The newspaper man suddenly understood and said, ”Captain, you’re thorough, I’ll go replace the bomb immediately!”

The captain said, ”Remember, only detonate the bomb when Ye Qing enters the room. If it’s someone else, don’t detonate. Understand?”

”Yes!” The newspaper man responded, quickly returning to the lobby to discuss the matter with the other newspaper man. The two then split up to replace the bomb in Ye Qing’s room.

On the other side, Ye Qing pretended to take a call and left the hotel, symbolically wandering around the city for about an hour. Then Xiao Qing called, stating she had found Huang Boxiong’s location. That evening, Huang Boxiong was with a group of his lackeys partying at a nightclub. The orphanage wasn’t approved, which made Huang Boxiong quite excited and he had been celebrating these past few days.

Receiving this information, Ye Qing took a taxi directly to the nightclub where Huang Boxiong was celebrating. Xiao Qing had also found out the specific private room Huang Boxiong and his group were in. Ye Qing wandered around the upstairs and indeed spotted Huang Boxiong and his crew.

The group was having a blast in the private room, and Huang Boxiong was particularly exhilarated. He already knew that Wu Yian was so angry that he was hospitalized and that Ye Qing was so agitated that he hadn’t eaten all day. He didn’t have much sympathy for Wu Yian, and knowing Ye Qing and Zhao Chengshuang were both furious gave him a sense of elation after exacting revenge, making him particularly cheerful. Thus, he’s been in a great mood these days, celebrating each night, and tonight he had brought a bunch of his cronies with him, getting particularly wild.

Ye Qing found Huang Boxiong but did not enter the private room. Instead, he watched the private room’s situation from the restroom outside. Huang Boxiong’s group partied until the early hours, and Ye Qing waited until then as well. Not until Huang Boxiong’s crew staggered out drunk did Ye Qing emerge from the restroom, pretending to accidentally bump into Huang Boxiong.

Huang Boxiong was bragging to his lackeys about his prowess when suddenly someone familiar walked past, jolting Huang Boxiong. He hurriedly turned his head and saw that Ye Qing had already walked quite far. Huang Boxiong immediately halted, turning to stare at Ye Qing, his eyes full of confusion which then turned to anger, his expression contorting.

”Bastard, how dare this son of a bitch come to Dongzhou?” Huang Boxiong clenched his fists in anger, ”You’re really choosing to walk into Hell despite there being a road to Heaven. I was just thinking of finding you and you’ve come right to my doorstep!”

”Boss, who are you talking about?” One of the lackeys turned and asked Huang Boxiong in surprise.

”Who else could it be!” Huang Boxiong’s face broke into a cold smile and said, ”It’s the one I mentioned to you guys, the one I’m determined to deal with no matter what!”

(I came down with a fever today and had to get an IV, so the update is a bit late. I apologize to all the friends who have been waiting patiently.)
