Urban Martial Saint

Zhao Chengshuang furrowed his brows; the man’s words clearly implied that he was accusing him of being a corrupt official too.

Although Zhao Chengshuang used to be a playboy who didn’t take his job seriously and indulged in pleasure daily, he never did anything against his conscience. At most, he was just negligent, and every penny he spent was earned on his own, having nothing to do with corruption. Hearing such accusations now, he couldn’t help but feel enraged.

”What kind of way is this to speak!” Zhao Chengshuang said displeased: ”What do you mean by that?”

The man glanced at Zhao Chengshuang, sneered, and said, ”What do I mean? Figure it out for yourself.”

Zhao Chengshuang was furious but thinking of Ye Qing’s issue, he still swallowed his anger and said to Huang Boxiong: ”Young Master Huang, you can’t blame Ye Zi for what happened last time. Besides, after you guys were kidnapped, Ye Zi desperately ran to rescue you all. He wasn’t just sitting idly by. Anyway, since you have come, please also visit the orphanage!”

”We’ve already said we’re not going,” the man next to him impatiently said: ”What? Didn’t you hear what our leader just said? Are you deaf or dumb? Do I need to repeat myself?”

Zhao Chengshuang ignored him, only looking at Huang Boxiong, and demanded: ”Young Master Huang, just give me a straight answer, are you going or not?”

The man beside Huang Boxiong said: ”We already said we’re not going, where did you get all this nonsense. What? Are you trying to threaten us?”

Huang Boxiong glanced at Zhao Chengshuang, then at Ye Qing, and said sternly, ”Take him and get out!”

Ye Qing’s expression slightly chilled; Zhao Chengshuang had tried to say good words, but not only did Huang Boxiong not show any respect, his words were also incredibly unpleasant.

Zhao Chengshuang stood there, stunned; he knew Huang Boxiong was arrogant, but he never thought Huang Boxiong would disrespect him like this and speak in such a manner.

”I told you to get out, did you hear me!” The man beside Huang Boxiong gloated over Zhao Chengshuang with an air of borrowed authority. This man had always been Huang Boxiong’s lackey back in the province, always kissing up to Huang Boxiong. However, in the province, Huang Boxiong wasn’t considered anything special among the second-generation elites, so he always kept a low profile. Here, he was much bolder, backed by his connections from the province, and utterly disregarded the locals, behaving in an extremely domineering manner.

”Get out, motherfucker!” Zhao Chengshuang cursed loudly and turned to slap the man twice, shouting, ”I’ve tolerated you for a long time, fuck your ancestors, how dare you tell me to get out!”

As Zhao Chengshuang got more and more furious, he kicked the man to the ground and grabbed a chair nearby, bashing it over the man repeatedly.

This man, merely Huang Boxiong’s lackey, was no match for Zhao Chengshuang, a policeman. Getting beaten down by Zhao Chengshuang, he didn’t have the strength to fight back, only covering his head with his hands, his state quite miserable.

”What are you doing!” Huang Boxiong, alarmed, shouted sharply: ”Stop it!”

”Stop your mother!” Zhao Chengshuang cursed back, showing no respect for Huang Boxiong, and kept swinging the chair, continuing to beat the man.

The other members of the inspection team, seeing this, also got angry and came over shouting. One of them even grabbed a wine bottle, ran over, and shouted at Zhao Chengshuang, ”Zhao, do you know what crime it is to assault a provincial official?”

As he spoke, the man swung the wine bottle theatrically, trying to intimidate Zhao Chengshuang. But just as he got close, Zhao Chengshuang suddenly stood up; his head coincidentally hitting the wine bottle.

”Ouch!” Zhao Chengshuang cried out painfully, immediately clutching his head and collapsing to the ground, shouting, ”It hurts so much, it hurts so much!”

The man holding the wine bottle was stunned; he only meant to scare Zhao Chengshuang with the bottle, he never intended to actually hit him. And he was standing far away from Zhao Chengshuang, it was Zhao who had bumped into the bottle himself, it had nothing to do with him. Moreover, even though Zhao Chengshuang did bump into the wine bottle, the impact was minimal, so how could it possibly hurt that much?

Ye Qing, who watched the entire incident clearly, couldn’t help but secretly laugh at Zhao Chengshuang’s exaggerated cries of pain. Undoubtedly, Zhao Chengshuang was deliberately trying to frame the members of the inspection team.

At this moment, the police guarding the door also heard the noise and rushed over, and seeing the situation, they couldn’t help but feel surprised. Ye Qing cooperated very well and hurriedly said: ”Catch him, they beat up Director Zhao, they injured Director Zhao!”

Hearing this, the faces of several members of the inspection team changed. They hadn’t laid a hand on anyone. From start to finish, it was only Zhao Chengshuang who was hitting people. They didn’t attack anyone. Zhao Chengshuang fell because he tripped over himself; it had nothing to do with them at all.

However, those policemen didn’t think so. Seeing Zhao Chengshuang fall to the ground, holding his head and screaming in pain, and the provincial inspection team members, who stood in a semi-circle around Zhao Chengshuang, with a few amongst them holding objects like beer bottles and chairs as weapons. It was clear at a glance that they intended to gang up on Zhao Chengshuang. These policemen, all loyal to Zhao Chengshuang, seeing him being beaten, how could they remain calm?

”Damn, dare to hit our director!” Several policemen charged forward furiously and directly pinned down the few from the inspection team who were still shouting ”it’s not our business,” and handcuffed them.

”What are you doing!” Huang Boxiong was furious, indignantly said: ”Zhao Chengshuang, stop pretending. I warn you, I will report this incident comprehensively to the province after I return. You actually dared to assault members of the provincial inspection team, hmph, I don’t think you can remain as a director anymore!”

”Is that so?” Zhao Chengshuang got up from the ground, glanced at Huang Boxiong, and said, ”I assaulted the members of the provincial inspection team? Who saw it?”

On this side, Ye Qing and those policemen immediately shook their heads, as if they couldn’t see the man on the ground covered in blood being beaten. It was only a few people from the provincial inspection team nodding, but compared to the number of people on Ye Qing’s side, they were far too few.

Seeing this situation, the people from the provincial inspection team couldn’t help but feel disheartened. If this were to be pursued, they didn’t have nearly as many witnesses as the other side. If Zhao Chengshuang and Ye Qing really played tricks on this matter, they indeed had no way out.

”Zhao Chengshuang, don’t think you can muddle right from wrong just because you have more people on your side. This matter can’t be proven just by having more people!” Huang Boxiong gritted his teeth and said: ”Even if the people on your side give false testimony, can the injuries on his body also be fake?”

”Oh, if you say so, well, that’s easy.” Zhao Chengshuang waved his hand and said: ”Last time you came back, the injury report wasn’t submitted yet. It’s not too late to do it again now. You guys, being taken away by those people, surely must have some injuries, right? On the injury report, I can write whatever I like, and nobody will blame me for it.”

Zhao Chengshuang smiled, pointed at a person next to Huang Boxiong, and said: ”This guy was shouting the loudest just now, write down complete severing of the tendons in his hands and feet, Second-Level disability.”

The man Zhao Chengshuang pointed to shuddered instantly. If Zhao Chengshuang really wrote it as such, his tendons might indeed end up severed, resulting in Second-Level disability being reported to the province. By then, if Zhao Chengshuang insisted that it was the kidnappers who did this, they would have no way to refute it.

”And that one, nose cut off, both ears cut off, Second-Level disability. This one, one eye gone, internal hemorrhage, Second-Level disability. That one, an arm gone, Second-Level disability, and this one…”

Zhao Chengshuang sat on the ground, pointing at the people from the inspection team one by one, even not sparing Huang Boxiong. Everyone from the inspection team changed their expression drastically, shivering with fear.

Huang Boxiong’s expression turned ice-cold, he said in a deep voice: ”Zhao, do you really think you can cover the sky with one hand? I’m telling you, we are the provincial inspection team sent from above, I don’t believe you dare do this.”

”I don’t care whether you are from the province or not, in Shenchuan City, it’s my territory, everything here is decided by me!” Zhao Chengshuang said: ”The injury report, I will write it however I want. The police department hasn’t even seen you guys yet, those who have met you now are our bureau’s people, all my people, who would go against me?”

Huang Boxiong clenched his teeth tightly, furiously said: ”I’m warning you, if you lay a finger on us, I will make it impossible for you to remain as the director!”

”Can’t remain as director? So be it, if worst comes to worst, I’ll just quit.” Zhao Chengshuang quipped: ”I can simply go into business. Anyway, I will live just as freely. Huang Boxiong, I also tell you, although your father’s skilled, don’t even dream of bringing down the Zhao Family. Even if I maim all of you this time, at most I’d step down. But your subordinates, their entire second half of their lives, will definitely not be as free as mine!”

The people beside Huang Boxiong were shivering with fright, all looking at Huang Boxiong with eyes that were pleading. Just as Zhao Chengshuang had said, even if Zhao Chengshuang did these things, at most he would be removed from his position. With the Zhao Family’s influence, Zhao Chengshuang would not face severe consequences. But with their limbs missing, how would they live the rest of their lives as disabled?

Huang Boxiong’s face turned ice-cold; he didn’t expect to be threatened by Zhao Chengshuang in such a way. He gritted his teeth looking at Zhao Chengshuang, said solemnly: ”Zhao, you mean to say, you just want to play dirty with me, is that it?”

”That’s right, I am playing dirty with you, so what?” Zhao Chengshuang said: ”Earlier when I was speaking nicely you wouldn’t listen, you had to wait till I hit you to realize that I am proficient in both pen and sword! Now everything’s out in the open, Huang Boxiong, it’s up to you to handle this. Anyway, that’s my stance, if you don’t handle this matter properly, don’t even think of leaving Shenchuan City intact.”
