Urban Martial Saint

Hearing Zhao Chengshuang’s words, Ye Qing felt somewhat embarrassed and hurriedly said, ”Cheng Shuang, he...”

”However...” Zhao Chengshuang interrupted Ye Qing, smiled slightly, and said to King of Explosives, ”When you kill people abroad, you are subject to foreign laws, which has nothing to do with me. This is Huaxia, as long as you don’t kill people in Huaxia, you don’t violate our laws!”

Hearing this, both Ye Qing and King of Explosives breathed a sigh of relief. Zhao Chengshuang then smiled, patted Ye Qing, and said, ”Ye Zi, why are you so nervous? He’s your friend, so he certainly can’t be a bad person. I tell you, even if he had killed people in our country, as long as he’s your friend and not a wanted criminal, I wouldn’t arrest him. After all, it would be unreasonable to just let a wanted criminal go!”

Ye Qing and King of Explosives exchanged a glance, both feeling guilty. King of Explosives had not only killed people in the country but had killed many. Remember that explosion at North Huanqian Bay Bar? How many people did King of Explosives kill in a single blast? To this day, that case is still unsolved and King of Explosives is the wanted criminal in that case. However, no one knows except for Ye Qing that those explosions were done by the man right before them.

”How about I help you draft that report now?” King of Explosives asked, feeling somewhat fond of Zhao Chengshuang after hearing what he had said and took the initiative to inquire about that matter.

”Sure, come on, let’s get it done quickly,” Zhao Chengshuang pulled King of Explosives to the nearby security room. After a lot of fussing, they finally settled the draft of the report. With King of Explosives’ help, they found many clues, which was very beneficial to the investigation. Particularly, the mark of the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps made Zhao Chengshuang quite satisfied. With that alone, he could show off in the meeting. After all, even international police do not know the background of this mercenary corps. If this is discovered by Shenchuan City, it would greatly improve the image of the Huaxia police.

”Buddy, thanks a lot!” Holding the report, Zhao Chengshuang thanked King of Explosives repeatedly: ”I still have a meeting this afternoon and really don’t have time to entertain you. Don’t leave, I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.”

Saying this, Zhao Chengshuang then turned to Ye Qing, ”Ye Zi, you’re really not a good friend. Having such an expert by your side and you didn’t introduce him to me sooner. If you had introduced him earlier, those previous explosion cases might have been solved earlier.”

Hearing this, both Ye Qing and King of Explosives felt a bit guilty. And Zhao Chengshuang, still unaware of what was truly going on, pulled King of Explosives aside and said, ”By the way, buddy, do you know about the previous explosions in Shenchuan City? There have been several explosion cases here, quite complicated. Although the scenes have now been cleaned up, only some photos are left. Can you figure out anything from them?”

”If the scene is gone, then no clues can be found!” King of Explosives hurriedly responded.

”Is that so?” Zhao Chengshuang was a bit disappointed but not giving up, he said, ”Well, it’s hard to say. Our photos are taken very clearly, and probably got all the necessary clues. How about this, let me bring those photos another day and you help me look at them. Whatever clues can be found will be helpful, what do you think?”

”Alright... alright...” King of Explosives reluctantly agreed, but had already decided in his mind that once this matter was settled, he would leave Shenchuan City immediately. Staying around Zhao Chengshuang felt like having a time bomb tied to him.

”Okay, then I won’t delay you here!” Zhao Chengshuang said excitedly while looking at the report, ”Ye Zi, I’ll go back and prepare this report. I have a meeting this afternoon, and after the meeting, I’ll contact you. Let’s have a few drinks together along with this buddy!”

After saying that, Zhao Chengshuang, holding the report, rushed off in a hurry. This guy, having gotten this report from King of Explosives, was sure to make a big splash at the meeting this afternoon. He was so happy that he even hummed a tune as he walked.

Watching Zhao Chengshuang walk away, Ye Qing turned to King of Explosives, ”Are there any clues at all?”

King of Explosives said, ”It appears that the Second-Level Mercenaries from the Poison Eel Mercenaries were involved this time. Their combat power in close combat is comparable to First-Level Mercenaries. However, they are not very good at setting up traps and installing bombs, so the timing on this bomb was off. Otherwise, you would have hardly escaped disaster this time!”

”There are First-Level Mercenaries?” Ye Qing was astonished.

”Of course!” King of Explosives said, ”The mercenaries are also strictly classified by levels, normally divided into five levels. The Fifth-Level is like our regular infantry. Fourth-Level Mercenaries have slightly higher combat capabilities. Third-Level Mercenaries are comparable to ordinary Special Forces. Second-Level Mercenaries are similar to the elite Special Forces of some countries. As for First-Level Mercenaries, known as war machines, they are comparable to Top Level Special Forces and are not much different from the world’s top Special Forces. For instance, famous units like the SEAL Team, Alpha Force, SAS, and other special forces units—if they encounter a First-Level Mercenary in a close combat, it’s hard to say who would win!”

Ye Qing frowned; King of Explosives mentioned several units he was very familiar with. SEAL Team, Alpha Force, SAS, etc., are all top-tier Special Forces globally, highly ranked in combat strength. And these mercenaries, being able to hold their own against such Special Forces, were indeed too powerful. No wonder they participate in wars for some countries, almost no different from regular armies.

”How many of these First-Level Mercenaries does each Mercenary Corps have?” Ye Qing asked.

”Not many!” King of Explosives shook his head: ”A First-Level Mercenary either needs to be versatile or exceptionally outstanding in one area. Training such mercenaries is extremely difficult. For a Mercenary Corps to have a few First-Level Mercenaries is to be considered quite strong. Therefore, the hiring cost for such First-Level Mercenaries is also very high. Most people hire Third-Level Mercenaries, and if they demand higher, they might hire Second-Level Mercenaries. It’s rare for anyone to hire First-Level Mercenaries!”

Ye Qing nodded, which eased his mind a lot. If First-Level Mercenaries were plentiful, what would that mean for these Mercenary Corps? However, thinking about it, it’s no wonder that these Mercenary Corps are so prevalent in Africa, since even some countries can’t completely eradicate them.

”By the way, what level were you when you were over there?” Ye Qing suddenly asked.

King of Explosives smiled and said, ”I was just an instructor!”

”Instructor?” Ye Qing looked at King of Explosives and asked, ”Were you specifically teaching explosives?”

”Yes!” King of Explosives nodded.

”I see.” Ye Qing suddenly realized, but then thought that with King of Explosives’ ability in explosives, he should qualify as a First-Level Mercenary.

”If it’s a Second-Level Mercenary Corps, it’ll be somewhat easier to deal with!” King of Explosives told Ye Qing: ”Ye brothers, I can only help you with bomb-related issues. As for other aspects, I’m helpless. However, you were also from Special Forces, it shouldn’t be hard for you to deal with these people!”

”I just need to be careful!” Ye Qing said, ”What I’m most worried about is these people recklessly planting bombs near the orphanage, that would be dangerous!”

Hearing this, King of Explosives felt a bit embarrassed, as he had planted a bomb near the orphanage once before.

”Ye brothers, if you’re really worried about that place, I can help you set up a bomb countermeasure device there!” King of Explosives said: ”With this device, if someone plants a bomb there, you will immediately know and be able to evacuate people or find someone to defuse it!”

”There’s such a device?” Ye Qing was astonished as he also came from a military background, but he had never heard of such a device.

”This is a device I designed myself, based on the principles of various bombs. It can detect ninety percent of the remote-controlled or time bombs in the world!” King of Explosives smiled and said: ”Ye brothers, these ninety percent bombs are the most commonly used ones in the world. The remaining ten percent are rarely encountered unless you are on the battlefield. So, this one device should be enough for use at the orphanage!”

”That would be great!” Ye Qing was delighted and said: ”Is this device easy to install? How long does it take? What’s needed? I’ll find someone to buy it for you right away!”

”No need to rush, I need to go to the orphanage first to measure the surrounding area and estimate the specific materials needed.” King of Explosives said: ”The key is to calculate the coverage range, once that’s done, the installation is quick, it’ll just take a day or two.”

”Then let’s not waste time here, let’s go to the orphanage first and measure it specifically!” Ye Qing didn’t hesitate and pulled King of Explosives to leave first.

King of Explosives knew that Ye Qing was greatly concerned about the orphanage and didn’t refuse. He followed Ye Qing to the orphanage and directly started measuring.

Actually, the measurements were mostly done during the previous construction. Now with King of Explosives coming over, he just took out the architectural drawings, studied them carefully, recorded all the specific numbers, and then started calculating the coverage range, which was quite complex. Fortunately, Ye Qing, who studied this field in college, was able to understand it while standing beside King of Explosives. As for the others, they were simply dumbfounded, having no clue what King of Explosives was actually doing.

The calculation was very complex and took more than two hours. With Ye Qing’s help, King of Explosives finally completed the coverage area calculation. Afterward, he wrote down the materials needed and Ye Qing immediately sent someone to buy them. Ensuring the orphanage was no longer at risk from bombs was the best thing for Ye Qing, also lifting a great weight off his heart. Since the battle with Wang Tian’an began, Ye Qing’s biggest concern was that Wang Tian’an would ruthlessly target the orphanage.
