Urban Martial Saint

On the other side of Shenchuan City, in Chen San’s villa, Aomuhan was sitting alone in a room. There was no one else in the room, and he was holding a mobile phone, sneering as he removed the card from inside.

”Ye Qing, everyone says you are very shrewd, but I want to see just how shrewd you really are!” Aomuhan slowly broke the card in his hand, sneering as he spoke: ”If you dare touch a single hair on Huang Boxiong, you will have no foothold in Eastern Province. Hmph, even though Third Brother has given Shenchuan City to you, what of it? With just a few words from me, you can forget about standing firm here!”

Although it was Aomuhan’s first time in Shenchuan City, his father, Ao Wuchang from Shu, has been mixing in these circles for many years with an extremely deep background. In the political arena of Eastern Province, his father has many friends, and for him to want to understand the situation of the Standing Committee was not difficult at all.

Actually, Liu Changping had long been aware of the meeting’s details, but knowing Ye Qing’s character, he deliberately didn’t tell him to avoid Ye Qing looking for trouble with Huang Boxiong. However, even though Liu Changping considered so much, he ultimately couldn’t escape Aomuhan’s sneaky schemes.

Aomuhan has always been filled with jealousy and resentment towards Ye Qing, but due to Chen San, he dared not trouble Ye Qing. These past few days, he had been scheming on how to trap Ye Qing. And this time, having finally found an opportunity, he certainly wasn’t going to let Ye Qing off.

As Aomuhan held the broken card, thinking about the situation Ye Qing would face in the future, his face became increasingly smug.

”Muh Han!” Just then, Chen San’s shout suddenly came from the doorway.

Aomuhan’s expression changed, and he hurriedly tried to throw the card into the trash can. However, looking at the trash can, he still felt that it wasn’t safe enough and turned to find a place to hide the card. But due to a guilty conscience, he felt uneasy no matter where he considered hiding it.

”Muh Han, are you there?” Chen San’s voice outside the door grew heavier, clearly suspicious of the situation inside the room.

”Oh, I’m here,” Aomuhan quickly replied.

”What are you doing?” asked Chen San curiously.

”I... I’m sleeping...” Aomuhan hurriedly answered, feeling too guilty to find a place to hide the SIM card and simply stuffed it into his mouth.

”Oh.” Chen San outside the door didn’t have many suspicions and said: ”I’m going out to run some errands. Just take care of things at home. Remember, I have sent a group of people to protect Ye Qing; if he runs into any trouble and needs support, you must immediately send reinforcements!”

”Okay... okay...” Aomuhan stuttered in reply, fearing that Chen San might suddenly enter the room, so he dared not take the SIM card out of his mouth. But speaking with the SIM card in his mouth was inevitably muffled.

”What are you eating?” Chen San asked curiously.

”Ah?” Aomuhan was startled, and as he tried to speak, the SIM card in his mouth accidentally got lodged in his throat, causing him to cough violently.

”What’s the matter?” Chen San quickly pushed the door open and entered.

Aomuhan, who was going to reach into his mouth to retrieve the SIM card, was frightened by Chen San’s sudden intrusion and dared not put his hand into his mouth any longer. Pretending to be choking, he kept coughing. However, the SIM card in his throat was not coughed up but was pushed further down. Ultimately, Aomuhan ended up swallowing it, nearly suffocating in the process.

”What happened to you?” Chen San asked with concern. Although he was often dissatisfied with Aomuhan’s behavior, Aomuhan’s life had ultimately been saved by Ao Wuchang, his father. Moreover, Aomuhan had grown up with him from an early age, and Aomuhan held great respect for him as Third Brother. He also cared a lot about Aomuhan.

”Nothing... nothing...” Aomuhan certainly did not dare speak of the real situation, quickly waving his hand and saying, ”I was just eating a sunflower seed that wasn’t properly shelled and accidentally choked on it...”

”Oh.” Chen San sighed with relief, saying, ”Be careful when you eat. I’m going now. Take care of things here at home!”

”Oh.” Aomuhan nodded and asked, ”Third Brother, where are you going at this time? Did uncle and the others arrive?”

”No!” Chen San shook his head and said, ”I’m going to make a trip to Wang Tian’an!”

”Oh?” Aomuhan suddenly perked up, excitedly said, ”Third Brother, are you planning to wage a full-scale war against Wang Tian’an? I want to go too; I want to kill that bastard Wang Tian’an myself!”

”No!” Chen San shook his head again, waving a stack of papers in his hand, and said, ”I’m going to distribute flyers!”

”Flyers?” Aomuhan was startled and asked, ”What flyers?”

”Hahaha...” Chen San laughed and did not reply, holding those flyers as he turned and left.

Aomuhan was still full of astonishment on this side, completely unaware of what had happened, and even less aware that the flyers in Chen San’s hands were the recipe for the Heart-devouring Bug’s food.

Over at Wang Tian’an’s place, having received the food for the Heart-devouring Bug last night, Wang Tian’an did not immediately give it to the three individuals afflicted by the Heart-devouring Bug. Instead, he had the three men carried into the hall to let everyone witness their condition. These three had been suffering from the Heart-devouring Bug for a long time, with significant internal organ damage; even if saved, they would be left useless. Wang Tian’an was not in a hurry to save them anymore; on the contrary, he intended to use these broken men to intimidate those contemplating rebellion.

The effect of doing this was obvious; seeing the state of these three, everyone with a Heart-devouring Bug inside their bodies trembled with fear. They had all experienced the agony of a Heart-devouring Bug’s outbreak, and the sight of the three screaming in excruciating pain reminded them of that torment, instilling nothing but fear towards Wang Tian’an in their hearts.

At noon, Wang Tian’an gathered everyone and positioned the three individuals, who were at death’s door due to the Heart-devouring Bugs, in the middle of the crowd. People stood around, each with a look of horror on their face, fearful that the next one could be them.

Wang Tian’an sat on the main seat, smirking as he watched the trembling crowd below, knowing that his actions had taken effect. After the three men on the stage gradually stopped moving, Wang Tian’an stood up and declared loudly, ”A few days ago, we were attacked by outsiders. Rumors started spreading, saying that all the food for the Heart-devouring Bug had been stolen from here, that there was no more food for the Heart-devouring Bug left. As a result, some began to feel that I was disposable and started thinking about defecting from me.”

Everyone below hung their heads. They all knew what Wang Tian’an was talking about. Over the past few days, Wang Tian’an had been avoiding the issue, making them increasingly doubtful whether he really ran out of the food for the Heart-devouring Bug. And now, Wang Tian’an brought up the matter, suggesting he might have obtained more of the food for the Heart-devouring Bug.

If Wang Tian’an had indeed secured more food for the Heart-devouring Bug, then it was hard to say whether it was good or bad for those below. Although with the food, they wouldn’t have to worry about the Heart-devouring Bug acting up, this also meant they would continue to be tightly controlled by Wang Tian’an. Therefore, there was a great conflict in their hearts; they both wished Wang Tian’an still had the food for the Heart-devouring Bug and didn’t want him to have it anymore.

”The person who spread this matter, I know who it is!” Wang Tian’an sneered as he looked at the crowd, his gaze slowly sweeping over the faces below. Each person he looked at trembled with fear; they had all spread the rumor, and they were scared that Wang Tian’an would suddenly command the Heart-devouring Bug within them to punish them.

Seeing the frightened looks on everyone’s faces, Wang Tian’an felt even more pleased. He enjoyed seeing the fearful and apprehensive expressions on their faces. His gaze finally fixed on one person, who was so terrified that he trembled uncontrollably and could hardly stand, even wetting himself out of fright.

Wang Tian’an felt even more triumphant. He pointed at the man, then suddenly turned and pointed towards the three people on the stage, saying in a grave voice, ”The ones who spread this matter, it was these three!”

As Wang Tian’an shifted his pointing hand, the man who had been under Wang Tian’an’s scrutiny just moments before went limp, stumbling and nearly collapsing to the ground. He exhaled deeply, relieved, yet his heart remained heavy. With a Heart-devouring Bug inside, their lives were always in Wang Tian’an’s hands. Who wouldn’t be afraid?

The others also exhaled a sigh of relief while looking astonishingly at the three on the stage. In fact, everyone had spread the news, but how could Wang Tian’an pinpoint that it was those three who had spread it?

Wang Tian’an smiled coldly, his voice stern as he said, ”These three have received the punishment they deserved. However, I am a generous man, and despite the rumors they spread behind my back, I will not kill them. Moreover, today, in front of all of you, I will let you know whether the food for the Heart-devouring Bug was really stolen or not!”

As Wang Tian’an spoke, he gestured to two people at the side. They immediately carried a plate onto the stage, which held some small pills. They fed the pills into the mouths of the three people on the stage, who were barely clinging to life.

Everyone watched the three on the stage nervously. After about five minutes, the agonized screams gradually weakened, suggesting that the Heart-devouring Bugs within them had been suppressed.

Everyone was shocked, their convictions solidified; Wang Tian’an indeed had more food for the Heart-devouring Bug. They were happy because they no longer had to worry about sudden outbreaks. However, they also felt sorrowful, for they were to remain firmly under Wang Tian’an’s control.

”Now, everyone should see it clearly!” Wang Tian’an looked at the crowd below with pride and spoke loudly, ”The food for the Heart-devouring Bug here is abundant. Even if they can steal a batch, it has no impact on me. As long as you all work well for me, the Heart-devouring Bug will absolutely not act up. But, if anyone harbors any ill intentions, contemplating deceit behind my back, hmm, these three men are your example!”
