Urban Martial Saint

Junior Brother Wang Tian’an actually thought Ye Qing was a dead man. But to his surprise, Ye Qing somehow managed to escape with his life. However, he attributed Ye Qing’s survival entirely to luck and good fate, which was why he had managed to avoid disaster. After calling the leader of the mercenary squad, he ordered him to kill Ye Qing as soon as possible so that they could receive the remaining payment.

The leader of the mercenary squad was also feeling disgraced. Killing a person was supposed to be as easy as flipping one’s hand for them. Now that Ye Qing was still alive, they couldn’t possibly save face. Therefore, without Wang Tian’an’s instructions, they would definitely make a move to kill Ye Qing.

On Ye Qing’s side, Zhao Chengshuang immediately pulled up all the surveillance footage near the square and assigned personnel to monitor it closely. At the same time, he also gathered all the parking attendants and inquired whether anyone had approached Ye Qing’s car.

Given the magnitude of the car bombing incident, the parking attendants were completely frightened. Further intimidated by the police questioning, they didn’t dare to hide anything and honestly recounted everything that had happened that night. Coupled with the surveillance results, Zhao Chengshuang eventually narrowed down the suspects to two individuals.

With the information on these two individuals, Zhao Chengshuang approached Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Zi, they can’t escape, it was these two people who did it. They were the ones who stayed in the parking lot the longest, and they were the only ones who had the time to do it. Also, the surveillance footage shows that they lingered around your car for almost five minutes, during which both of them bent down and squatted, but their actions were obscured by other cars, and it was not visible what they did. However, I guess, they must have been installing that Sensory Bomb onto your car!”

Ye Qing examined the information on the two security guards, slightly frowning. He had seen them a couple of times when he was passing by this place regularly. In his memory, both of them appeared very honest and simple— it didn’t make sense for them to commit such an act.

”Where are these two people now?” Ye Qing asked.

”I don’t know. When I gathered everyone just now, neither of them showed up,” responded Zhao Chengshuang. ”However, I’ve already sent people to look for them. Now that we’ve identified them, they won’t be able to escape!”

Just as Zhao Chengshuang finished speaking, a police officer rushed in and exclaimed, ”Captain, we’ve found those two people.”

”See, I told you,” Zhao Chengshuang turned and said immediately. ”Bring them here right away!”

”Captain, we can’t bring them...” the officer said in a low voice, ”Both... both of them are dead!”

”What?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes widened with surprise and urgency. ”Dead? How is that possible?”

Ye Qing stood up and said in a deep voice, ”Where are their bodies?”

”In the north corner of the underground parking garage.”

Without a word, Ye Qing immediately headed towards the underground parking garage. Upon reaching the north corner, he found that more than a dozen police officers had already cordoned off the area. Thankfully, due to the remoteness of the location, there were no onlookers.

Zhao Chengshuang accompanied Ye Qing over, and the police officers made way for them as soon as they saw the two. Ye Qing went in and saw two bodies lying on the ground, which were the two security guards that Zhao Chengshuang had earlier identified. Now, both of them lay there, blood oozing from their mouths and nostrils, eyes wide open in a seemingly unaccepting death.

Ye Qing straightened up after bending over to check the bodies, his frown deepened as he turned and asked in a serious tone, ”Cheng Shuang, when you checked the surveillance, when did they appear next to the car?”

”About forty-five minutes ago,” Zhao Chengshuang replied.

”That bomb wasn’t placed by them; these two people have been dead for at least an hour!” Ye Qing stood up and said solemnly, ”Their bodies are already cold!”

”What?” Zhao Chengshuang was stunned, and he bent down to check their breath, indeed feeling the chill from their bodies. He also frowned and said, ”If it wasn’t them, then who could it be? The surveillance and witnesses’ testimonies both pointed to them.”

Ye Qing said, ”The square’s surveillance isn’t clear. All you saw were their clothes, but could you clearly see their faces?”

After thinking for a moment, Zhao Chengshuang shook his head and said, ”Now that you mention it, I remember that the appearance of the two people in the surveillance was very unclear. However, the numbers on their uniforms were correct. Also, those attendants told me, they couldn’t make out the faces because it was too dark; they only recognized the uniforms. Does this mean that the bomb wasn’t placed by them, but someone else had disguised as them?”

Zhao Chengshuang looked down at the two men and said, ”But since they were impersonated, why would these two people end up dead here?”

”The person who placed the bomb was wearing their clothes to impersonate them!” Ye Qing said in a grave tone.

”Wearing their clothes?” Zhao Chengshuang widened his eyes and asked, ”How is that possible? Aren’t their clothes intact?”

”Take a closer look,” Ye Qing said, squatting down and pointing at the button on the neck, ”The security uniforms here are quite tight, and normally people wouldn’t button the top two. But these two buttoned up all their buttons neatly. Do you think that’s possible? Wearing the clothes like that would definitely be uncomfortable, who would wear it like that?”

Zhao Chengshuang looked at the buttons and said, ”So you’re saying, those people killed them, put on their clothes to go and do this, and then came back to put the clothes back on the bodies? Damn, these people are bold. After planting a bomb, they don’t hurry to escape, but instead, they have time to come back and dress the dead bodies? They’re really shamelessly bold!”

Ye Qing, frowning, said in a serious voice, ”These people not only had time to come back and dress these bodies, but they also had time to dress them so neatly. It proves that after they killed, they had no sense of panic whatsoever. It seems that these are definitely habitual offenders, and it’s even possible that they are trained assassins!”

”Trained assassins?” Zhao Chengshuang looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Which of Wang Tian’an’s subordinates isn’t much stronger than these assassins? Could it be the work of Wang Tian’an’s people?”

”This matter is definitely related to him, but it shouldn’t be his subordinates.” Ye Qing stated heavily: ”Only those who have received professional training can install a Sensory Bomb. Only professional demolition soldiers who specialize in this area can do it.”

”So, were you also specializing in this area when you were in the army?” Zhao Chengshuang asked curiously.

”I was Special Forces, and I had to dabble in all areas, but I’m not as skilled as specialist troops in any of them.” Ye Qing replied, ”I only know the working principle of Sensory Bombs and the steps to defuse them, but I’ve never actually tried installing them.”

”Even you can’t install it!” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes widened, saying, ”Could it be that Wang Tian’an has really gotten a professional demolition expert? Ye Zi, if that’s the case, then won’t you be in danger? No matter where you go, it won’t be safe. With bombs, the blast radius is too large, you can’t hide from it!”

Ye Qing also frowned. What he was most worried about now wasn’t this matter, but the orphanage. The orphanage had already suffered from a bombing threat once. If Wang Tian’an was insane enough to target the orphanage, then that would be real trouble. So many children at the orphanage, Ye Qing wouldn’t be able to stand it if any of them were hurt!

”I’m not familiar with demolitions!” Ye Qing was silent for a while before saying, ”It looks like I need to find a professional demolition expert to help out!”

”Do you want me to call in some bomb disposal experts from the city for you?” Zhao Chengshuang offered, ”My dad’s army unit has a few experts who are very knowledgeable in this field.”

”No need,” Ye Qing rejected the offer straightforwardly. He had seen the so-called bomb disposal experts from Shenchuan City, and they weren’t as skilled as him.

These people were fine with handling ordinary demolitions, but to guard against a professional bomber, they really weren’t strong enough. Such career demolition experts were hard to cultivate, and it would be good if an entire Military Region could have a few top-notch individuals. Unless he asked for help from Uncle Zhou, the commander of the Provincial Military Region, it would be possible to borrow a more capable demolition expert.

”No need?” Zhao Chengshuang was taken aback and curiously asked, ”Aren’t you looking for help? Do you have a more suitable candidate?”

Ye Qing nodded. He certainly had the most suitable candidate in mind, and that was King of Explosives, whom he had once caught. Among all the people Ye Qing had ever seen, King of Explosives’s demolition skills were truly remarkable. Like the bombs he placed in the orphanage last time, he managed to avoid all critical parts, detonating with precise timing and controlled force. The fact that he could half-demolish a classroom while leaving the other half undamaged showed the strength of his demolition skills. It can be said that King of Explosives’s abilities in demolition had reached a transcendental level, and even Uncle Zhou’s military district might not have anyone who could match him in this field.

Last time, Ye Qing let King of Explosives go, and in gratitude, King of Explosives left him a number, telling Ye Qing to call him if he ever needed help. And now, Ye Qing really did need his help. Ye Qing could disregard his own safety, but he must handle this matter as soon as possible at all costs. He could not let the children at the orphanage be at risk. As long as this matter remained unresolved, those children were in great danger!

Looking at the two bodies on the ground, Ye Qing’s heart also grew much colder. These men were just security guards of the plaza, earning meager salaries, without involving themselves in conflicts. Yet, they had been so ruthlessly killed. This made Ye Qing extremely angry.

He always felt that no matter how much he fought with Wang Tian’an and how many people died, it didn’t matter. After all, if both sides decided to fight, casualties were expected, and they were prepared for it. But Wang Tian’an’s indiscriminate killing was unbearable for Ye Qing. In his heart, he had already sentenced the bombers to death. He was determined to kill these people, to avenge the two security guards, and to make them pay for their indiscriminate slaughter!
