Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing left the matter here to Zhao Chengshuang and went home to rest. Naturally, taking such an incident very seriously, Ye Qing carefully checked everything before going home. Mad Dog even brought a group of people to guard outside the house day and night to prevent someone from planting a bomb there.

Once home, Ye Qing immediately found King of Explosives’ number and gave him a call.

King of Explosives had been laying low for a while, but his phone was always on. Upon receiving Ye Qing’s call and hearing about the situation in Shenchuan City, he didn’t hesitate to tell Ye Qing that he would arrive in Shenchuan City the next morning.

King of Explosives’ decisive response gave Ye Qing quite a bit of reassurance. In fact, Ye Qing had great respect for King of Explosives. Even though this man had caused numerous explosions in Shenchuan City, killing many people, those who perished were often deserving of their fate. Just like the explosion at North Huanqian Bay Bar that wiped out so many drag racing second-generation offspring, it was a moment Ye Qing found immensely satisfying. So later, when King of Explosives was captured, Ye Qing simply let him go without giving him any trouble.

King of Explosives was truly loyal as well, remembering the favor Ye Qing had done for him. When Ye Qing called, he immediately agreed to come and help, which made Ye Qing respect him even more.

Everything would have to wait until King of Explosives arrived the next day to formally start dealing with it. Before King of Explosives’ arrival, Ye Qing dispatched over one hundred additional people to the orphanage, virtually encircling the entire institution to prevent anyone from infiltrating and ensuring its absolute safety.

Over at the square, Zhao Chengshuang was still leading the team busy collecting evidence and such. Explosions had been happening so frequently in Shenchuan City lately that many people were no longer surprised, which is why the incident didn’t cause too much of a stir. However, this explosion targeted Ye Qing, and his subordinates took it very seriously. Hence, many of Ye Qing’s people were also on-site, assisting with the evidence collection.

Before the matter here was resolved, Zhao Chengshuang received a personal call from Deputy Director Deng of the city bureau, informing him that several Xiangjiang Police officers would be coming over tomorrow to investigate a case and needed cooperation from the Shenchuan City police. After discussion among the city bureau leaders, it was ultimately decided to entrust this task to Zhao Chengshuang.

As Zhao Chengshuang was busy dealing with Ye Qing’s case, he heard this news and immediately said: ”No way, Director Deng, I’ve just got a major case on my hands and am swamped. How can I have time to assist the Xiangjiang Police?”

”Whatever cases you have, put them aside for now!” Deputy Director Deng said bluntly: ”Cooperating with the Xiangjiang Police relates to the efficiency and honor of our Huaxia police departments. You must handle this well. I can find someone else to take over your current case, so you don’t need to worry about it!”

”Director Deng, I cannot let go of this case!” Zhao Chengshuang said: ”This case involves Ye Qing; someone planted a bomb, trying to kill him. You know Ye Qing is my best friend. How can I hand this case over to someone else?”

”What? Something like that happened?” Director Deng was taken aback, knowing well the relationship between Zhao Chengshuang and Ye Qing due to his good relation with the Zhao Family.

”Yes!” Zhao Chengshuang said: ”The explosion just now was very powerful; I suspect it was the work of a professional demolition expert. We are currently investigating with full force and already have some leads. Director Deng, this case is critical, I can’t let it go. Why don’t you find someone else to receive the officers from Xiangjiang? After all, I’m not the only one in the bureau!”

”That won’t work either!” Director Deng insisted: ”This isn’t our first collaboration with the Xiangjiang Police. Last time when we arrested the international thief He Ziqiang, everyone had cooperated, and it went smoothly. To build a deeper friendship with the Xiangjiang Police, the bureau thinks it’s best to assign someone familiar with them for this cooperation. For one, it’s easier to talk when you know each other. Secondly, previous cooperation means there’s an understanding and it makes things convenient. Therefore, you’re the most suitable person to handle this!”

”So it has to be me, after all?” Zhao Chengshuang reluctantly said: ”Director Deng, who’s coming? I’m not familiar with the people from Xiangjiang!”

”Not familiar my ass!” Director Deng said: ”Let me tell you, the team is still led by the same captain as last time, Officer Ou Keren. You two have experience working on a case together. This time, you must personally assist them. I will pay more attention to Ye Qing’s case for you, but you also need to do a good job with the situation from Xiangjiang!”

”Ou Keren?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes flashed with the image of the fetching Xiangjiang policewoman, sweet-faced and valiant even in her uniform.

Ou Keren was undoubtedly one of those beauties one cannot forget after a single glance. A beauty among beauties, she became infinitely more alluring in her police attire. Zhao Chengshuang had always felt that such beauties should be sitting in offices, doing paperwork. Yet, Ou Keren was a heroine who seconded no man, solving only major cases, outperforming many men. So, Zhao Chengshuang had been wondering, what kind of man could possibly win over a girl like her?

”The beauty is here again!” Zhao Chengshuang scratched his head. He had indeed worked with Ou Keren for quite some time, and it seemed he was the man for this task of assisting with the case. However, with Ou Keren’s arrival, things might be easier to handle.

”Let Ye Zi take this beauty to work on her case; I’d better focus on this bombing case. Anyway, the beauty only listens to Ye Zi!” Having made up his mind, Zhao Chengshuang immediately called Ye Qing and informed him of the situation, telling Ye Qing to pick up Ou Keren and her team at the airport early the next day.

Ye Qing had not expected Ou Keren to visit Shenchuan City again. Truthfully, Ou Keren had done Ye Qing a huge favor. If it wasn’t for her help during the incident involving the Lin family and Yang Shitao, Ye Qing might be dead by now. Moreover, Ou Keren risked her own safety to unblock Ye Qing’s acupuncture points with a steel needle, greatly enhancing his strength. Ye Qing had always remembered this deed and was very grateful to Ou Keren. Now that Ou Keren was here, Ye Qing felt he really needed to properly welcome her.

Ye Qing did not reject Zhao Chengshuang’s suggestion. Despite having many things to handle, he must also assist with Ou Keren’s case.

The next day, Ye Qing got up early and, accompanied by several brothers, drove straight to the airport. Arriving early, the plane had not yet landed, so Ye Qing stood at the entrance and waited, while his brothers kept watch over the car outside to prevent anyone from sneaking a bomb onto Ye Qing’s vehicle. Everyone took this matter very seriously and didn’t dare to be negligent.

After waiting in the airport for about half an hour, Ou Keren and her entourage finally appeared. Having not seen her for a while, Ou Keren hadn’t changed much but looked slightly thinner. Her face was still beautiful, and though she was not in uniform, her business attire gave her a neat and attractive appearance. Her presence exuded an imposing charm, attracting surreptitious glances from many men around, though after a few looks, most turned their heads in self-deprecation. Not to mention her beauty, Ou Keren’s valor and confidence alone were enough to overthrow the majority of men. Honestly, most men couldn’t match her in vigor and confidence!

Upon seeing Ye Qing, Ou Keren too was overjoyed, stepping forward briskly without waiting for others, and said, ”Ye, why are you here?”

Ye Qing gave a slight smile and replied, ”Director Zhao Chengshuang was supposed to pick you up, but he had an urgent matter, so he asked me to come on his behalf. Miss Ou, you must be tired from your journey!”

Ye Qing extended his hand and shook hands with Ou Keren politely. However, he didn’t notice the subtle joy in Ou Keren’s eyes upon seeing him.

In fact, this trip to Shenchuan City was essentially requested by Ou Keren herself. Since her last departure from Shenchuan City, she had been preoccupied with thoughts of Ye Qing and had wanted to see him again. Her greatest wish for this visit was to meet Ye Qing, and to her delight, the first person she saw upon disembarking the plane was Ye Qing.

Seeing Ye Qing shaking hands with Ou Keren, the group of young men following her were displeased. These individuals were all from the Xiangjiang Police and were outstanding among the younger generation. Ou Keren had a long list of admirers in Xiangjiang City. These young talents were all followers of Ou Keren. Unfortunately, she had never paid any real attention to them. And now, seeing Ou Keren talking and shaking hands so warmly with a man, how could they feel happy?

”Captain Ou, what is the meaning of this from Shenchuan City Police?” A young man came forward and asked with a heavy voice, ”We were supposed to have assistance from the Shenchuan City Police on this case. Yet, the Shenchuan City Police didn’t send anyone to pick us up, sending an outsider instead. Is this the attitude of Shenchuan City Police in handling things? Our case is supposed to be confidential; how could it be exposed to outsiders?”

Ou Keren was still basking in the joy of meeting Ye Qing when she heard this, only then noticing the displeasure etched on the faces of her colleagues. She knitted her brows and said, ”I forgot to introduce him to you. This is Ye Qing, Ye, our special advisor to the Shenchuan City Police. Ye is very capable in criminal investigations. Last time, it was thanks to Ye that we managed to capture He Ziqiang. I believe, with Ye’s help, we will definitely complete our case smoothly!”

Hearing this, the group looked at Ye Qing with even colder eyes. The young man who spoke earlier glanced at Ye Qing from head to toe with disdain and said, ”A special advisor, so he’s not a formal police officer, right? Since he’s not a police officer, it’s better not to disclose our matters to him!”
