Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”Miss Ou, since this is your issue, I will definitely help you. Moreover, this matter has involved me as well; it’s only right for me to lend a hand. Rest assured, since they want to kill me, they certainly won’t just let it go. If they failed to kill me once, they will surely try a second time. Using me as bait, they will take the hook soon enough!”

”But that still seems too dangerous,” Ou Keren looked at Ye Qing worriedly and said, ”Ye, don’t be any bait. These mercenaries are very dangerous. According to the intelligence, there’s also a sniper among them, which is extremely dangerous.”

”It’s nothing,” Ye Qing chuckled and said, ”After all, I’ve been in the military for a few years, and I do have some anti-sniping capabilities.”

”Huh, who can’t boast? The key is whether you have the actual skill!” Zheng Tianbao snorted coldly from the side. ”Anti-sniping? I’ve never heard of such a thing. The enemy hides in the dark, pulls the trigger, and you’re dead instantly. Talking about anti-sniping? Ridiculous!”

”Zheng Tianbao, don’t talk nonsense!” Ou Keren said with dissatisfaction, ”Ye is very capable. He used to be Special Forces on the border; his anti-sniping ability must be very strong!”

”Special Forces, him?” Zheng Tianbao scanned Ye Qing disdainfully and said, ”Special Forces with your physique? Stop joking. Even Special Forces should be able to take on two or three people on their own. With him like this, I could easily handle him myself; how could he fight several people?”

”You...” Ou Keren was about to say something, but Ye Qing quickly reached out to stop her and calmly smiled, ”I’m not some Special Forces soldier, just regular military, with no combat capability. By the way, Miss Ou, I’ve arranged accommodations for you at the best hotel in the city. Let me first take you there to rest. The city bureau will invite you for a meeting this afternoon to discuss this matter!”

Knowing that Ye Qing was modest by nature, Ou Keren didn’t elaborate further. She gave Zheng Tianbao an unhappy glance and said, ”Ye, thank you!”

”It’s nothing. Since you’re here, you are my guest, and it’s only natural that I take good care of you!” Ye Qing smiled back, engaging in a lot of conversation with Ou Keren under Zheng Tianbao’s angry gaze. The two had a very good relationship, and their meeting this time was, of course, very warm.

After taking Ou Keren and the others to the hotel, Ye Qing didn’t linger there but headed straight back to Tian Sheng because King of Explosives had already rushed over.

King of Explosives had been living in a county-level city nearby Shenchuan City, which was the old residence of his grandmother. He had spent a lot of time there as a child. Lately, he had been living the life of an ordinary person. However, upon receiving Ye Qing’s call, he immediately rushed over to help.

When Ye Qing returned to Tian Sheng, Black Bear had already been hosting King of Explosives for a while. As a former soldier, Black Bear found much in common with King of Explosives, and the two were getting along happily.

”The captain is back!” Black Bear stood up immediately upon seeing Ye Qing.

King of Explosives also stood up, smiled at Ye Qing, and said, ”Ye brothers, we meet again!”

Seeing King of Explosives, Ye Qing also had a mix of emotions. Although King of Explosives had committed many major crimes in Shenchuan City, in Ye Qing’s heart, he was still a good person. If King of Explosives had not shown mercy, Ye Qing’s orphanage could have suffered many more casualties.

”Thank you for coming to help!” Ye Qing shook hands with King of Explosives and said, ”I’m not very knowledgeable about explosives, and neither is Xiong Zi. We’ll have to trouble you with this!”

”I’ve said before, anything concerning you, I will never decline!” King of Explosives smiled, picked up a photo from the table, and said, ”I just looked at the scene photos they shot. The enemy should have used the British-made BT35 hydraulic Sensory Bomb, which is very powerful. This British-made BT35 hydraulic Sensory Bomb has already been phased out by the British Army and is hardly used by anyone anymore. This type of bomb is mostly used by Mercenary Corps lurking in Africa. However, to determine which Mercenary Corps it is, we might need to take a closer look at the scene!”

Ye Qing and Black Bear exchanged glances. King of Explosives indeed lived up to his reputation. Just from these few photos, he could analyze so much. Although Ye Qing could tell it was a Sensory Bomb, he really couldn’t see more than that - the gap between Ye Qing and King of Explosives in the field of explosives wasn’t small at all.

”In that case, let me take you to have a look!” Ye Qing did not hesitate and immediately took King of Explosives to the square.

Because the scene needed to be preserved, it had not been cleaned up yet, and Ye Qing’s car was still there. The vehicle had flipped over and was now basically burnt down to a bare frame.

The perimeter was cordoned off by police tape, with quite a few police officers busily collecting evidence inside. Zhao Chengshuang was accompanying a man in his fifties, smiling and apparently chatting about something. Seeing Ye Qing, he waved from a distance, signaling Ye Qing to come over to him.

Ye Qing, with the King of Explosives and others, walked over; Zhao Chengshuang was inquiring the man about matters of explosives. The man had a badge on his chest, which also bore the words ”Explosives Expert,” indicating that this was indeed the bomb disposal specialist sent by the city bureau.

This explosives expert had a stern look on his face, showing an expression that made it clear he had no intention of paying any attention to Zhao Chengshuang. No wonder, given that such experts are few and far between, and Shenchuan City had hardly any. These people are so scarce that even the chief of police has to speak nicely to them, let alone Zhao Chengshuang, the mere deputy chief of a sub-bureau; he wasn’t even on the expert’s radar.

”How is it going?” Ye Qing asked casually.

”We’re still searching for clues,” Zhao Chengshuang said with a smile: ”Come, Ye Zi, let me introduce you. This is Dr. Hou, our bureau’s explosives expert. Dr. Hou, this is Mr. Ye Qing, the explosive vehicle belongs to him, and it’s him who mentioned the Sensory Bomb. He has quite some talents in explosives!”

The explosives expert scanned Ye Qing from top to bottom and said, ”You understand explosives?”

”I’ve learned some during my time in the army,” replied Ye Qing truthfully.

”Learned some, and how much is that?” The explosives expert sneered, ”Handling explosives is nothing like your army shooting. Bomb disposal requires considering many factors, such as terrain, explosive power, direction of the blast, timing, and so on. To carry out a successful disposal, you must take into account various disciplines such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. With all these factors, how much do you actually know and you dare say you understand?”

Ye Qing felt somewhat embarrassed; clearly, the explosives expert was unhappy with him, blatantly belittling him. Ye Qing didn’t think he had offended this person, so why was he being so disrespectful from the start?

What he didn’t realize was, after the explosives expert had come, he had fussed around for quite a while and hadn’t identified it as a Sensory Bomb. Only after Zhao Chengshuang mentioned it did he realize it was indeed a Sensory Bomb. However, this made him feel a loss of face, and so when he met Ye Qing, he wasn’t in the mood to speak nicely at all. In his eyes, Ye Qing was just a youngster, who had merely chanced upon identifying the Sensory Bomb; he didn’t believe Ye Qing had any real knowledge or skill, which is why he hadn’t planned on giving Ye Qing any face!

Seeing Ye Qing in this state, Zhao Chengshuang also felt a bit embarrassed and hastily said: ”Dr. Hou, Ye Zi knows quite a lot about this stuff. Ye Zi is a talented graduate from Northern University. Just now, he immediately recognized it as a Sensory Bomb!”

Zhao Chengshuang’s words only served to infuriate the explosives expert even more, who exclaimed with glaring eyes: ”What does it matter if he’s a graduate from Northern University with high qualifications? Why join the army then, if he’s such a high-caliber graduate? And what’s so amazing about recognizing a Sensory Bomb at a glance? Hmph, can he identify where the bomb was placed and what techniques were used to install it?”

Zhao Chengshuang was stunned and turned to look at Ye Qing. Ye Qing shook his head, about to speak, when the King of Explosives quietly tugged at him.

”The bomb was installed five centimeters to the left of the right front wheel; it utilized a shell separation technique with a hydraulic ground trigger,” the King of Explosives whispered to Ye Qing.

Ye Qing was slightly startled, knowing that the King of Explosives was helping him out, and immediately repeated his words.

Upon hearing Ye Qing’s repetition, the explosives expert was clearly astonished but then burst into haughty laughter: ”Humph, after hearing so many technical terms, I almost thought you had some knowledge of explosives. However, you’ve made a major mistake; it seems that your previous claims were simply blind guesses!”

”Where did the mistake happen?” inquired Zhao Chengshuang with curiosity.

”The bomb wasn’t placed to the left of the right front wheel, but to the right of the left front wheel!” the explosives expert declared: ”Go take a look at the condition of the vehicle’s undercarriage; the damage on the left front side is clearly much more severe than on the right. Besides, if the aim was to kill the driver, the bomb would definitely be placed on the left side. Putting it on the right side, which is the passenger seat, wouldn’t be as effective!”

Zhao Chengshuang was taken aback for a moment and looked towards Ye Qing, who was also visibly shocked. Was it possible that the King of Explosives had also made a mistake?

Lowly, the King of Explosives said, ”As mentioned earlier, this bomb had a shell separation and hydraulic ground trigger mechanism. After separation, the explosion generates more force, directing more power. Hence, placing it by the right front wheel channels more blast force towards the left front wheel, intensifying the damage there. This makes it even harder for the driver to survive. Moreover, this kind of sensitive Sensory Bomb with hydraulic control is highly effective no matter if it’s placed under the driver’s or the passenger’s seat!”

Ye Qing repeated the words of the King of Explosives once again. After hearing this, the explosives expert was immediately at a loss for words. Staring in bewilderment at Ye Qing for a while before urgently retorting, ”Nonsense, what shell separation, what blast force transfer, I’ve never heard of such terms. You’re just making this up; who is the expert here, you or me? What I said cannot be wrong!”
