Urban Martial Saint

He Tao and the others writhed on the ground, screaming in pain for quite some time, but not a single person helped them call an ambulance; everyone just stood by, watching the spectacle as if it were some kind of joke.

After a long while, He Tao and his group slowly got up, supporting each other as they left the scene. Everyone was cursing under their breath, extremely infuriated, all discussing how to take revenge.

With He Biao gone, He Tao didn’t have much money to go to a hospital. He could only lead his group towards a narrow alley, planning to find a clinic to get treated.

They wandered around the alley for a while before they reached another intersection, which was just blocked by a large bus.

”Damn it, who the hell parks their car like this!” He Tao cursed loudly as he approached to knock on the door. However, the bus door swung open.

”Tao Zi!” Sitting at the door of the bus was Hu Liang. He glanced at the people behind He Tao, frowned slightly, and said, ”What happened to you guys?”

When He Tao was with He Biao, he had met Hu Liang several times and knew this man was flush with cash. At this moment, seeing him, he couldn’t help but be startled, his expression immediately shifting from anger to sycophantic as he said, ”Brother Hu, what are you doing here?”

When He Biao was around, with He Biao backing him up, he feared nothing. Now that He Biao was gone, he wanted to cling to Hu Liang for support.

Hu Liang didn’t speak but waved his hand and said, ”Get on the bus!”

Without any suspicion, He Tao hurriedly led his group onto the bus. The curtains were drawn all around the bus, preventing anyone outside from seeing inside.

As He Tao and his people sat down, they looked at Hu Liang in front and asked, ”Brother Hu, where are we going?”

”You’ll know in a moment!” Hu Liang didn’t say much. Seeing his demeanor, He Tao didn’t dare to ask further and just sat in the back, following Hu Liang to their destination.

The vehicle drove for about half an hour before finally stopping. As He Tao and his group got out, they were shocked to find that the vehicle had parked in a place resembling a warehouse. However, the warehouse looked abandoned, covered in dust, with spider webs everywhere.

He Tao asked curiously, ”Brother Hu, what are we doing here?”

Hu Liang didn’t respond but walked a few steps forward and clapped his hands.

Immediately, about fifteen men emerged from around the warehouse, wielding weapons and swiftly surrounding He Tao and his crew in the middle.

Seeing the menacing look of these men, even the foolish He Tao could tell something was off. He looked at Hu Liang in alarm and stuttered, ”Brother Hu, what on earth is happening? What are you guys doing? I am He Biao’s brother, Brother Hu, what does this mean?”

Hu Liang had already returned to the bus, turned his head to look at He Tao, and said, ”I know you are He Biao’s brother. Do you want to avenge He Biao?”

”Of course, of course I do!” He Tao nodded vigorously, and said, ”Brother Hu, as long as you help me, I swear I’ll tear Ye Qing to pieces!”

”I think that’s not a good idea!” Hu Liang shook his head and said, ”You can’t defeat Ye Qing. If I help you, I might get dragged down too. However, I have another method to help avenge He Biao.”

”What method?” He Tao asked eagerly, as he now hated Ye Qing and Gu Xianping the most and really wanted his revenge.

Hu Liang said, ”The method is simple, but I need your help!”

”Brother Hu, whatever you need us to do, just command us!” He Tao immediately thumped his chest and said, ”I’ll make sure to do it right!”

”You don’t need to do much…” Hu Liang said with a faint smile, ”You just need to die here!”

”What?” He Tao widened his eyes, doubting if he had heard correctly. What did he mean by dying here?

Hu Liang chuckled, ”You just had a conflict with Ye Qing. If you turned around and died here, who do you think the police would suspect?”

He Tao finally understood the situation and couldn’t help shivering. He hurriedly said, ”Brother Hu, please... don’t joke about this. I... I am He Biao’s brother. Brother Hu, you forgot, when you visited my brother, it was me who took care of you. How... how could you do this to me?”

”Why can’t I?” Hu Liang smiled faintly and said, ”Aren’t you seeking revenge for your brother? Why can’t you help with even such a small favor? Tao Zi, I’m a bit disappointed in you!”

”I... I... I didn’t say I’d help like this...” He Tao urgently said. ”Besides, do you think the police are fools? If we died, would it definitely be Ye Qing who did it? Brother Hu, what you are doing is useless; you cannot frame Ye Qing…”

”That’s not necessarily true,” Hu Liang still smiled faintly and said, ”If I parked this car at Old Fifth Yang’s warehouse and placed the murder weapon inside the car, do you think the police would suspect them? Moreover, I’m not planning to frame them. The key is to have the police keep an eye on them and make them suspects. That way, they won’t be able to proceed with the construction project in the New District. All I want is that project; I never intended to push them to the Land of Death!”

He Tao was immediately stunned; he knew that what Hu Liang was saying was true. If he really did so, he could indeed get Old Fifth Yang and Ye Qing involved. If they were implicated in such a major murder case, they truly wouldn’t be able to participate in the New District project. Hu Liang would become the biggest beneficiary!

”Brother Hu, please... don’t joke anymore...” He Tao said with a trembling voice: ”We’re all friends... we also work for you. My brother also worked for you. My brother is also your brother; he even went to jail for you guys. How could you... how could you do this to my brother? That’s totally disloyal!”

”Huh, sorry to him?” Hu Liang snorted coldly and said, ”Do you think your brother went in for nothing? He spends a year inside, and I have to pay him three million, damn, that’s almost ten thousand a day. Loyalty? What is loyalty? I’m a businessman. I don’t think he’s worth that much money, so you have to make up for it!”

As Hu Liang spoke, he waved his hand impatiently and said, ”Get it done, and clean it up!”

”Yes!” The men responded and charged forward, brandishing their machetes.

These youths were now truly terrified. Usually, when they fought externally, relying on their numbers, they rarely lost. Covered by He Biao, even those with real power rarely bothered with them. Today, in front of Ye Qing, it had been their biggest loss yet. However, because they were minors, and Ye Qing wouldn’t kill them, they weren’t too afraid. But now, Hu Liang was genuinely intending to kill them, and they finally understood what real cruelty meant in this society!

Suddenly, more than ten machetes chopped down, and the youths couldn’t even run; they fell to the ground, crying and screaming for their fathers and mothers.

”Brother Hu, Brother Hu, please spare me. I can do anything for you...” He Tao yelled loudly. He had already been chopped twice, the pain almost driving him insane.

”Brother Hu, I have nothing to do with this. I don’t know He Biao; I don’t get along with He Tao either, please spare me...”

”Yes, Brother Hu, please spare me. From now on, I will never dare to associate with He Tao again!”

”Brother Hu, please spare me. I will leave Jiuchuan County right now and never come back, please spare me...”

Everyone was pleading for mercy, but the men did not stop their hands at all.

Hu Liang watched these people with a cold laugh and said, ”Young men, you are truly too naive. Is it possible for me to let you go at this time? Weren’t you always brave and arrogant? Didn’t you regard nobody? I remember, once on the street, someone merely gave you an extra glance, and you beat them up. Why aren’t you arrogant now? Hahaha, young? Arrogant? Minors? All bullshit! Let me tell you, all this nonsense about youthful arrogance is just bullshit. Do you think others really can’t handle you? They just can’t be bothered to stoop to your level. If it’s really about fighting and killing, how many lives do you have to spare? In the adult world, interests represent everything. The New District project is worth several billion in profits; your deaths for a few billion should make you feel quite valuable!”

If someone had told them this before, they surely wouldn’t have believed it and might even have felt insulted by it. But now, at the moment of their deaths, these youths truly realized how true Hu Liang’s words were and understood just how ridiculous their lawlessness was. However, it was too late to turn back now; He Tao and others all fell into pools of blood, their screams slowly weakening until they finally stopped altogether.

A man looked at He Tao and others and said, ”Big brother, all done!”

”Check thoroughly, do not leave a single survivor!” Hu Liang stood up and said, ”After the inspection, clean all this up. Remember what I said, you must make the police suspect Old Fifth Yang, got it?”

”Yes!” The man responded and led a few subordinates to take care of the aftermath.

Hu Liang looked at the bodies in the pool of blood, a cold smile crossing his lips. He Tao went to trouble Gu Xianping because Hu Liang had incited He Tao through his words, aiming to spark conflict between He Tao and Ye Qing. Just like earlier, everyone saw it was Ye Qing who had injured He Tao and others. And now that He Tao was dead, the first person they would think of was Ye Qing!

Actually, Hu Liang wouldn’t normally resort to such extreme measures; he only had to pull some official strings to handle this matter. But since Huang Feiming came to Jiuchuan County and started getting close to Ye Qing and Old Fifth Yang, he knew that his official connections were useless. Still, he didn’t want to give up the rich pickings so close at hand, so he adopted this scheme to shift the blame onto Ye Qing and Old Fifth Yang.

Of course, this was also a gamble. But that’s how businessmen operate, fully aware that fortune favors the bold!
