Urban Martial Saint

Looking at Lin Mengjie’s swollen face, Old Fifth Yang clenched his teeth in rage, wishing he could kill He Biao and Hu Liang. But he really couldn’t do it.

He Biao and Hu Liang had come alone, and if he took advantage of having more men to deal with them, he might as well not be the boss anymore. But of the men at his side, not one was a match for He Biao in a fair fight, and he couldn’t recover his dignity this way.

After gritting his teeth in silence for a while, Old Fifth Yang waved his hand and said in a deep voice, ”You guys go on.”

”Eldest Brother!” Old Fifth Yang’s subordinates looked at him in astonishment, some anxiously said, ”Eldest Brother, we have to avenge Manager Lin!”

”No need...” Lin Mengjie slowly stood up, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, and stared coldly at He Biao, ”Mr. He, you actually hit a girl, huh huh, you really think you’re formidable.”

A chill passed over He Biao’s face; he had lashed out in anger only after Lin Mengjie had stepped on him painfully. Hitting a woman, if word got out, that was indeed shameful.

But what was done was done, and could not be changed. Under the disdainful stares of everyone present, he bowed his head and left the restaurant with Hu Liang.

As soon as they got into the car, Hu Liang turned to He Biao indignantly and said, ”What’s wrong with you? Why hit a woman for no reason? We had barely built up a reputation, and you’ve gone and thrown it away. If word of this gets out, how are the brothers in the underworld going to see us?”

He Biao replied gloomily, ”Brother Liang, you don’t know how painful it is to be stepped on by a woman’s high-heeled shoe!”

”No matter how painful, can’t you bear with it?” Hu Liang gave him a glance and said, ”At least Ye lost. Huh, Old Fifth Yang thought Ye was his lifeline, didn’t he? This time, let’s see what he can rely on. After you get back, spread the word about Ye Qing escaping, I want to damage Old Fifth Yang’s morale!”

”Yes!” He Biao gave a cold smile and said, ”I heard that this Ye guy seemed to be somewhat capable. I thought he was really powerful, but he wasn’t all that. Damn it, I didn’t get to beat him up good. He dared to tell me to roll out of Jiuchuan County, I’ll toss his whole family out of Jiuchuan County if I don’t live up to the name He!”

”Heh heh heh...” Hu Liang sneered and nodded, about to speak when his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up, gestured for He Biao to keep quiet and said, ”Keep it down, it’s the big boss.”

Hu Liang cleared his throat, answered the call, and respectfully said, ”Eldest Brother, what can I do for you?”

A cold voice came from the other end of the line, ”You two caused trouble at Old Fifth Yang’s place?”

Hearing the big boss’s voice cold, Hu Liang knew something was wrong and hurriedly said, ”Eldest Brother, Old Fifth Yang has recruited a guy called Ye Qing to help him. Our brothers were injured by Ye Qing, and if this gets around, it’ll look bad for us. So we went specifically to try to regain some face.

Eldest Brother, Ye Qing was just beaten by He Biao, and now Old Fifth Yang has really lost face!”

”Are you two too free?” The boss’s voice got even colder, ”I’ve said before, don’t squabble over these trivial matters with him. Even if you reclaim your reputation, what use is it? Are you in this to make money, or to make a name for yourselves? Are you after the New District construction project, or are you fighting over who’s the boss?”

Hu Liang said awkwardly, ”Eldest Brother, I... I know what to do now.”

”You know shit!” The big boss paused, then spoke sternly, ”I just received news that Ye Qing’s brother has hurt Hong Tianxiang’s son at school. Handle this matter so that Ye gets involved too. Ye has no connections in Jiuchuan County, and Old Fifth Yang won’t ignore him.

Hong Tianxiang is extremely protective of his own; if Old Fifth Yang clashes with him over Ye, Hong Tianxiang will immediately fall out with Old Fifth Yang!”

The big boss added, snorting coldly, ”The situation in Jiuchuan County is clear now; the one surnamed Chen relies on his longtime presence here and his many supporters, so he can go against Secretary Hong. However, Hong Tianxiang is also a local figure. If this incident can pit him against Chen, it would be good for us. Do you understand what I mean?”

Hu Liang hurriedly nodded, ”I understand, I understand.”

”Good, handle this well,” the big boss said with a cold laugh, ”If you can stir up a real mess and drag Old Fifth Yang into it, that would be perfect.”

Hu Liang laughed as well, ”Yes, yes, yes, I will definitely find a way to get Old Fifth Yang involved!”

After hanging up the phone, He Biao immediately looked at Hu Liang and asked curiously, ”What did the big boss say?”

Hu Liang gave a cold smile and said, ”Go check on Hong Tianxiang’s son, and also on Ye Qing’s brother!”

”Hong Tianxiang?” He Biao was startled, ”Are you talking about the Secretary of the County Political and Legal Committee?”

Hu Liang laughed, ”Who else would I be talking about?”

Aside from the Secretary of the County Political and Legal Committee, who else could shake the balance of power between the Secretary and the Mayor?

When Ye Qing arrived at the school, the battlefield here had already been almost cleaned up, with several students sweeping the floor.

”You are Yuan Xiaozheng’s classmates, aren’t you?” rushed over and asked urgently, ”Do you know what happened?”

The students looked at each other, and one of them with glasses looked at Ye Qing with confusion, ”You are...”

”I’m Xiao Zheng’s brother!” Ye Qing said.

”Oh, you’re Xiao Zheng’s brother!” The student with glasses immediately perked up and hurriedly said, ”You finally came, let me tell you, Xiao Zheng’s been bullied so badly, he was forced to fight back, you...”

”Lin Peng, who let you talk so much here?” an angry voice suddenly intervened, and Ye Qing turned his head to see a middle-aged man angrily running over. He grabbed the student with glasses by his clothes and threw him to the side, saying, ”Don’t you have class? What are you talking about here? Do you not want to attend anymore?”

The student with glasses immediately lowered his head and stood to the side, not daring to make a peep.

The middle-aged man gave the students a cold glance and said, ”Get back to class now, or are you waiting to be sent to the student affairs office?”

The students scattered in an instant, clearly very afraid of this middle-aged man.

Ye Qing also recognized this middle-aged man; he was still a teacher at the school when Ye Qing attended, named Gong Ping. Seeing him now, it seemed he held a position in the school. But his temper hadn’t changed at all, Ye Qing remembered, Gong Ping was often heard to be hitting students, and now it seemed nothing much had changed.

Gong Ping glared after the departing students, then turned to Ye Qing and said, ”You’re that Yuan Xiaozheng’s guardian?”

”I’m his brother.” Ye Qing said.

”Brother? That’s not a guardian!” Gong Ping glared and said, ”Where’s your family? All dead? What about the parents? Is it enough for a brother to come forward? Don’t the parents have any sense of responsibility?

With such family education, no wonder the children turn out like this, what kind of quality!”

Ye Qing furrowed his brows and said, ”Teacher Gong, what exactly happened? Xiao Zheng is still a student, still a minor, how could the police arrest him?”

”What minor, have you seen minors wielding knives in school?” Gong Ping said, ”Let me tell you, your brother’s case is very serious. Forming cliques in school is one thing, but this time he dared to use a knife and even injured a classmate. The nature of the crime is too bad. And do you know whom he injured?”

Gong Ping said and squinted at Ye Qing, ”I suppose you don’t know, so listen up, he injured the only son of the Secretary of our County Political and Legal Committee, Hong Mingming.”

Having said this, Gong Ping looked smugly at Ye Qing, wanting to see his panic. However, to his disappointment, Ye Qing was not panicked at all, but just had an expression of sudden realization.

On the way here, Ye Qing had been wondering what big issue Xiao Zheng had gotten into at school, for him to be taken away by the police. Now hearing Gong Ping’s words, he instantly understood. The issue itself wasn’t big; the key was that it involved Hong Mingming, whose father was the Secretary of the County Political and Legal Committee. So, Xiao Zheng was taken away by the police.

In the end, it was all about power oppressing people!

Ye Qing asked, ”What exactly did they fight over?”

Gong Ping said, ”What else could it have been? Your brother enjoys bullying classmates at school, he must have been picking on classmate Hong Mingming. Besides, classmate Hong Mingming is a ’three good student’; he’s not the type to stir up trouble. Who’s right and who’s wrong, isn’t it obvious?”

Ye Qing said, ”Teacher Gong, is this what you know for a fact, or are you speculating?”

Gong Ping frowned and said, ”Listen here, firstly I’m not Teacher Gong, I’m Director Gong. I’m now the director of the school’s education administration office, not a teacher. Secondly, what I told you is the fact. What do you mean by speculating or not? What, do you think Secretary Hong’s son would bully your brother?

With the upbringing Secretary Hong’s family has, would his son stoop to the level of these bad students? Is there even doubt about this matter? It’s definitely your brother bullying the well-behaved student. The police have taken him away; do you still question who’s in the right and who’s in the wrong?”

”Director Gong, I can’t judge who’s right or wrong based solely on your word!” Ye Qing said, ”When this incident happened, there must have been classmates who saw it. Director Gong, how about this, if you could find some eyewitnesses and have them come over, I’d like to ask what exactly happened, would that be okay?”

”Heh, by saying so, you mean you don’t trust my word?” Gong Ping got angry and said, ”What, do you think I’m lying to you? What, do you believe it was Secretary Hong’s son causing trouble? Let me tell you, the situation is very clear. You don’t need to inquire further. Anyway, the school has already decided to expel Yuan Xiaozheng. As of now, the matter no longer involves the school.

If you don’t accept this, you can go ask Secretary Hong for clarification!”

Ye Qing felt a wave of anger inside and said sternly, ”How long has it been since the incident occurred and the school’s already decided to expel a student? Isn’t this decision a bit too hasty? Moreover, as a teacher, you don’t mention the cause and details of the incident, just insist that it was one student’s fault. Do you still consider yourself a role model for students?”
