The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1799: Chapter 1799: Ah Gui, You Have Twelve Siblings

Shu Yu’s voice was gentle and soothing, quickly calming Granny Fang’s low spirits.

As she recounted those events, scenes of the Lu siblings interacting seemed to appear before Granny Fang’s eyes, causing her body and mind to involuntarily relax.

”Among the younger generation now, Sister Cuihua’s son is the oldest, followed by Brother Daniu’s. My sister’s child was born in September, and is now almost three months old, chubby and very cute.”

”Is that so... I really want to see them.”

Shu Yu chatted with her for quite a while, until the aroma of food wafted in from outside, prompting her to pause.

Before long, Ying Xi knocked and entered, ”Miss, it’s time to eat.”

Only then did Shu Yu realize that it was getting late, and noon had already arrived.

Lunch was prepared at Fang Family’s house by Granny Feng from the village chief’s house, with the help of Yuan Gui and Ying Xi. It turned out to be a feast with excellent color, aroma, and taste.

Ying Xi mentioned that she had already paid Granny Feng for the ingredients. This spread of dishes wasn’t typical farm food; if Granny Feng were cooking for herself, she’d just make something simple, not the fragrant white rice obviously prepared for them.

Sure enough, after cooking, Granny Feng left, even though the old village chief had planned to stay and host Shu Yu, but was dragged away by Granny Feng.

At that moment, only their own family remained at Fang Family’s house.

After a morning of conversation, although Granny Fang couldn’t quickly quell her inner excitement, she outwardly appeared much calmer.

Knowing that her sister was still alive, now surrounded by children and grandchildren, and always thinking of her.

Realizing that she was not alone, and that she still had close blood relatives, Granny Fang felt a mix of emotions swelling within her.

She looked at Shu Yu as if she could never get enough, and after finishing the meal, she continued talking with her for a long time, always asking about the old lady.

As evening fell, Granny Fang reluctantly let go of her hand, somewhat unwilling to part, saying, ”How about not going back tonight?”

Shu Yu chuckled, ”Aunt, since we’ve recognized each other, we have time ahead. Chenggu County isn’t far from Hedeng Village; I can visit you anytime. If you need anything, you can come to the county town to find me. We’re spending the new year here and will return to Dongan Province after that.”

She paused and added, ”Before we go back, Aunt, take your time to prepare, okay?”

She had already asked Granny Fang about her intentions in the afternoon.

Granny Fang naturally wanted to go back, but having lived in Hedeng Village for over thirty years, she was familiar with the people there, and they treated her well; she had grown attached. Simply leaving immediately wasn’t feasible.

Shu Yu’s plan to leave after the new year provided Granny Fang with time to adjust.

”Alright, then you head back, and take care on the road.” Granny Fang let go of Shu Yu’s hand and insisted on seeing her off until she got into the carriage at the door. Then, she sighed quietly and let Yuan Gui help her back inside.

After lying down, Granny Fang was still gleeful and reflected to Yuan Gui, ”I really never thought I’d see my sister again in this lifetime. It’s been so many years; I’ve aged and don’t even know what she looks like now. Ah Gui, do you know? Yu said my sister has twelve grandchildren. You, you will have twelve cousins.”

Yuan Gui suddenly lifted his head and looked at Granny Fang.

But Granny Fang didn’t notice his expression and continued to tell him about the Lu family’s situation.

Yuan Gui’s eyes suddenly started to grow warm.
