The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1783: Chapter 1783: Seeking Out the Guan Family

”Who?” Shu Yu turned sideways and asked with surprise, ”The village chief of Hedeng Village?”

Yuan Gui shook his head, ”No, it’s Granny Guan from the county town.”

The Guan Family?

Shu Yu paused, ”You mean the Guan Family where you were staying previously?”

Yuan Gui nodded, ”Yes, that’s their home. Granny Fang and Granny Guan seem to have known each other for many years. I overheard them talking once, and Granny Guan advised Granny Fang to let go of the past and live well. They must have all fled the disaster.”

So Granny Guan is actually from Dongan Province too.

Shu Yu’s eyes lit up slightly, ”I understand, I’ll go back right away.”

Yuan Gui hadn’t expected her to move so quickly and quickly said, ”So urgent? Why not have a sip of water first.”

”No need.” The sooner she knows the truth, the sooner she can write back and tell her Grandmother the good news.

Shu Yu returned to the Fang Family, greeted Granny Fang, and refused her invitation to stay, quickly leaving Hedeng Village again.

The villagers watched as the carriage came and went, displaying surprised expressions.

Could it be that the young lady just used her carriage to send Granny Fang and the others back? What happened to Granny Fang and Yuan Gui in the county town that they suddenly encountered such a benefactor?

Once Shu Yu’s carriage left the village, the villagers immediately went together straight to the Fang Family, startling Granny Fang and Yuan Gui, who were tidying up.

Meanwhile, Shu Yu and Ying Xi returned to the county town not long after.

The Guan Family was a bit far from the Meng Family Escort Agency; their home was on the west side of the county town, known as the ’slum’ of Chenggu County.

As the name implies, people living here led a very tight existence, with each starving to skin and bones.

Before the rebel was caught, other people in the city rarely went out, but only those from the west side roamed everywhere for their livelihood.

As soon as Shu Yu walked in, she saw many collapsed houses under repair.

She looked up cautiously, avoiding the crowd back and forth, and took half an hour to find the Guan Family’s address.

Ying Xi stepped forward and knocked on the door. Soon, footsteps were heard from inside, ”Coming, coming, who is it?”

The door opened to reveal two unfamiliar young ladies, the person visibly startled, ”You are...”

”We’re looking for Old Mrs. Guan, is she at home?”

Shu Yu’s attitude was very friendly, and given her attire, she clearly didn’t fit in with this place, which made the door-opening Miss Guan a bit nervous and instinctively nod, ”She is, she is, my Grandmother is inside.”

”May I come in and chat with her?”

Miss Guan felt it was somewhat imaginary, chat? The young lady in front seemed to come from a wealthy family, and their Guan Family had never interacted with wealthy families in the city, especially not her Grandmother.

Yet the person actually wanted to chat with her Grandmother?

Shu Yu handed over the gift box purchased on the way with a smile, ”Sorry for the intrusion, please accept this.”

Given such courtesy, Miss Guan immediately stepped aside without a word, ”Miss, please come in, I’ll go get my Grandmother.”

She ran off quickly, allowing Shu Yu to raise her head and examine the Guan Family’s yard.

The Guan Family was small, but the yard was piled full of items. Yuan Gui had said that the Guan Family had two brothers and seven grandchildren.

Such a big family living together was indeed very cramped.

Yet in such circumstances, they still provided shelter for Granny Fang and Yuan Gui during their time of trouble.
