The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1768: Chapter 1768: Ms. Tao’s Decision

Meng Pei is an open-minded person. Perhaps because he has experienced loss before, to him, the safety of his family members’ lives is much more important than any lifeless object.

The Xuanyuan Sword was inadvertently obtained by his grandfather and cannot be considered the Meng family’s heirloom. He sent it away, considering that the sword merely circled through the Meng family and will leave, and suitable destined individuals will appear in the future.

”However, regarding this matter, I still need to discuss it with your uncle and Yun Mengqi before making a decision. If any one of them wants to keep the sword, then... it’s their responsibility.”

Shu Yu chuckled and left the Mi Family’s clinic with Meng Pei.

Afterward, she did not inquire about the Xuanyuan Sword again. But once Chenggu County’s matters were settled, Meng Yunzheng informed her that everyone agreed to give the Xuanyuan Sword away.

Uncle Meng’s affairs came to a close, yet he still needed to recuperate and stayed at the Mi Family’s clinic.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tao was taken home by Meng Qi and Meng Han.

Shu Yu had no time to focus on them; she needed to continue questioning the inmates in the cell and assist Xia Yi in organizing the city’s order.

The residents of Chenggu County gradually ventured outside more frequently, although it couldn’t compare to the past bustling ambiance; at least it’s not as desolate as it once was, and their lives are getting back on track.

Meng Yunzheng had been gone for two days, with no news coming back.

As for General Huang, he was entangled with the rebels, with both sides intentionally stalling for time.

This works well; Chenggu County can lay low and quietly develop.

Fortunately, these days, the Zhang Clan and Tao Qin were watched by Zhang family members, so they have not appeared near the Meng Family’s escort agency.

On the third day, when Shu Yu was about to head out early in the morning, she saw Meng Han stepping out looking very haggard.

Shu Yu knew that Ms. Tao had fallen ill after her return, which wasn’t surprising; her most beloved brother was dead, her most intimate husband was wounded and wanted to divorce her, her children were estranged, and the niece whom she treated like a daughter pushed her to danger.

All these triggered such immense havoc on Ms. Tao that it’s no wonder she fell ill.

Shu Yu hadn’t had time to visit Ms. Tao, but upon seeing Meng Han, she casually asked, ”How is your mother doing?”

”Her health has improved, but her spirits aren’t good. It’s like all her energy has been drained; she used to talk rapidly, but now it takes ages for her to utter two words.” Meng Han is somewhat worried.

Shu Yu patted her shoulder, ”Give her some time.”

Meng Han smiled bitterly, ”I know.” But upon thinking of another matter, she perked up, ”My mother said she won’t associate with the Tao Family anymore.”

Shu Yu was stunned, ”Has she made up her mind?”

”Yes, she has made up her mind, she told me when she got up this morning.”

Shu Yu didn’t seem surprised by this; any person with a clear mind would know the right choice.

Moreover, Ms. Tao’s primary concern was Tao Feili; now that he is gone, her divorce, even if returning to the Tao Family, would mean dealing with Zhang Clan’s animosity. Besides, she’s fallen out with Tao Qin; what good days could she possibly have if she returned to the Tao Family?

In the Meng family, her children are by her side. Her husband might be slightly miffed over this incident but still a decent person; he will give her what she deserves.

However, Ms. Tao tends to be muddled at times; who knows if she’ll suddenly take another path?

For the moment, it seems she can understand.

As Shu Yu and Meng Han spoke, a door-opening sound suddenly came from behind them. Both turned their heads simultaneously and saw Ms. Tao emerging from the room.
