The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1770: Chapter 1770: Ms. Tao’s Final Request

Ms. Tao always kept Tao Qin by her side, because she was her brother’s first daughter. Back when her father was still alive, he asked her to take good care of her niece.

Ms. Tao believed she was devoted heart and soul to her, preparing everything good for her, even setting aside a dowry.

But how did Tao Qin repay her? When they encountered the mountain bandits, she actually pushed her out to face the knife. That was a thankless wretch.

However, Ah Han, who was at odds with her, painstakingly cared for her when she was ill, counseling her. Despite blaming and resenting her before, in the end, she never abandoned her mother.

Some people only understand at the brink of life and death who truly cares for them and who only shows superficial concern.

The head of the family was right; she had made many foolish mistakes in the past. Now that she sees things clearly, she doesn’t know if there’s still time to make amends.

Ms. Tao carefully wrapped Uncle Meng’s bandaged hands, softly saying, ”Master, I don’t want a divorce.”

After speaking, she lowered her head despondently.

Uncle Meng sighed, ”Have you thought it through?”

”Yes, I’ve thought it through.”

”Alright, just make sure you don’t regret it in the future.”

Ms. Tao raised her head again, with tears in her smile, ”I won’t regret it, but there’s one thing I would like you to agree on.”

”What is it?”

Ms. Tao pressed her lips together, hesitantly speaking, ”My brother... is gone. Although I resent and hate him, the bond over these years can’t be severed just like that. The Tao Family is arranging the funeral, and I want to go over and help. Don’t worry, after it’s done, I won’t see them anymore.”

Uncle Meng didn’t object to this matter.

He nodded, ”Go ahead, let Ah Qi and Ah Han also pay their respects with incense. He is their uncle after all, sending him off is necessary, otherwise, it would sound bad if word got out.”

After finishing, he asked Shu Yu, ”When will Tao Feili’s body be sent back to the Tao Family?”

”Today, it should arrive after noon.” Along with those wealthy young men who were killed, unlike Tao Feili, most of them were fed to wild beasts, without even a complete corpse left.

After He Er and Old Master Yang discussed, they sent over whatever clothing or items left behind to their families.

Things are about tidied up on the black market; Tao Feili’s body needs to be brought up. In another day, it will be the seventh day after his death; he should be buried by then.

Shu Yu originally came today to inform Uncle Meng of this, even though he said he wanted to sever ties with the Tao Family, such a matter should still be told to him.

Upon hearing this, Uncle Meng nodded, giving Meng Qi and Meng Han words of instruction before letting them leave.

Shu Yu left with them, watching as Ms. Tao took Meng Han and was about to leave. She paused, speaking to the trailing Meng Qi, ”The Tao Family, for sure, will be unsettled, especially since last time the Zhang Clan shouted abuse at your father. You likely won’t find peace upon going over; be cautious.”

”I understand.” After this major ordeal, Meng Qi had become much more composed.

Shu Yu then parted ways with them, heading towards the abandoned mansion.

Old Master Yang was already there, along with the families of those victims.

These people all knew what they were waiting for here; thus, sorrow inevitably arose, with soft sobbing sounds punctuating the atmosphere.

Old Master Yang and He Er, those who came from the black market, were soothing them.
