The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1794: Chapter 1794: The Reason for Refusing Kinship Is Me

Shu Yu paused, couldn’t help but exchange a glance with Ying Xi beside him.

The Old Village Chief furrowed his brow, ”That’s not acceptable. Yuan Gui’s life was saved by the old woman, if he dares to be ungrateful, wouldn’t it hurt the old woman’s feelings? It’s rare for her to decide to acknowledge kinship, young men are just unreliable.”

Shu Yu lightly coughed, rubbed his nose with some guilt, and raised his hand to interrupt the conversation between the two, ”Well, Old Village Chief, the reason Yuan Gui doesn’t want to acknowledge the kinship, might be because of me.”

The Old Village Chief suddenly turned his head, Shu Yu even clearly felt a flash of anger in his eyes.

But he soon realized Shu Yu’s identity, restrained his expression, and asked, ”Monarch Lu Xiang means...”

Shu Yu, ”Let me go see Granny Fang first, we’ll know soon enough.”

The Old Village Chief could only suppress his doubts, and several people quickly arrived at the Fang Family’s door.

Yuan Gui just happened to come out, hesitated for a moment when he saw them, ”You guys...”

Shu Yu nodded at him, ”I went to see Old Mrs. Guan yesterday, and we talked a lot.”

Yuan Gui’s expression was complex, pursed his lips, stepped aside and said, ”Please go in, Granny Fang is inside.”

Shu Yu didn’t walk inside, just looked at Yuan Gui and asked, ”I just heard that you were originally going to acknowledge the kinship with Granny Fang, but suddenly disagreed today? Why, because of what I said yesterday?”

Yuan Gui lowered his eyes, forced a smile, ”Monarch Lu Xiang, please go inside.”

Shu Yu smiled, ”Yuan Gui, I may not be very old, but I’ve seen quite a few things. I think the bond between people is rare. Especially you and Granny Fang, even if you’re not related by blood, you treat each other as family, caring for each other, which is far better than most blood relatives. In making decisions, just follow your heart; worrying too much will only hurt others’ feelings.”

Yuan Gui suddenly looked up, ”Monarch Lu Xiang, aren’t you afraid...”

”Afraid of what, this is a matter between the two of you, you can decide on your own, you don’t need anyone else’s opinion.”

Saying this, she waved her hand, ”Alright, I’ll go see Granny Fang first.”

Yuan Gui stood still, watching her back as she entered the door, silent for a long time.

Yes, after listening to Shu Yu’s words yesterday, he barely slept a wink all night, his mind continually struggling.

At first, he agreed to acknowledge kinship because Granny Fang had no family, and after spending so much time together, they already regarded each other as family, he cherished this warmth of kinship. He truly considered Granny Fang as a real grandmother, planned to serve her well, provide for her in old age, and let her spend her later years with peace of mind.

But then suddenly knowing that Granny Fang was not alone, and the future would be better and better, if he were to acknowledge kinship at this time, it would inevitably seem like he was trying to climb up.

Yuan Gui felt sad inside, but he couldn’t just think of himself.

Now listening to what Shu Yu said, his heart couldn’t help but warm up.

Fine, let’s wait a bit longer, after Granny Fang and Monarch Lu Xiang acknowledge kinship, then he’ll have a good talk with Granny Fang, if she agrees, he will be her real grandson in the future.

The Old Village Chief and his grandson stood aside, looked at Yuan Gui, then at Shu Yu who had already walked into the house, their faces full of confusion.

What kind of charades were they playing just now, why couldn’t they understand a single word?
