My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1887: Chapter 1681: Devotion

Wholehearted devotion only results in piercing pain, with scars all over yet unable to let go.

”Child, you must understand, although the world is vast and you can go many places, do you truly believe there’s a place for you to reside in this world?

Yes, sometimes being willful comes at a heavy price. No one should let you be willful repeatedly, and yet, she forgives you time and again without any obligation, while you take it all as granted, caring nothing for others’ feelings. This is impossible.

Everyone has their own way of living.

Your lifestyle, Grandpa really disagrees because you are gambling your own child’s happiness. Do you really have the heart? Seeing your child only five years old, about to turn six, yet you, the mother, choose to separate from his father, choose to make him a child of a single parent, how do you expect his heart to think?

I have no qualification to judge whether what you did is selfish or not. I only know that if you make such a decision, then you will have no chance to regret it in your lifetime. Not everything in the world can be regretted. You should understand many things, once you make a decision, there’s absolutely no one in the world who will explain to you whether it’s right or wrong. You are already an adult, and you should bear the price of your actions. If you choose this path, if your child grows up and learns the truth, that his mother became like this, do you think he will choose to hate you?”

Ran Zhihan was silent. To be honest, he had already taken in every word of Old Master Zhang. He just didn’t know how to express his inner thoughts. If his biological child chose to hate him as a mother, how painful his heart would be, and how should he face it, yet words stuck in his throat and felt powerless, as many things couldn’t simply be changed with a few words.

No woman wishes for her marriage to become tattered and miserable, all hope for a happy and joyful life in their marriage. However, fate never adds brilliance to one’s life according to their wishes, only presenting life’s splendor through challenges time and again.

At this moment, his heart was truly despairing. He knew what kind of cruel result his actions would bring to his child.

He couldn’t bring himself to do it, no matter what, this was his own flesh and blood. How could a mother bear to let her child endure such great pain? Many things continued to waver in his heart; he didn’t understand what path he should choose. All he knew was that not every action he took was correct. But he deeply longed that, if someday he made such a decision, and his child chose to hate him, how would he face him then? All these outcomes stem from his willfulness, would his child ultimately understand his mother’s feelings?

”Grandpa, I truly don’t know what to do anymore. Everything I did was just hoping that this family could live harmoniously. I never expected it would be because of me that this family became so hard to be peaceful. I don’t want this to continue, I only hope that someday my child can proudly say I am a good mother, proud because of me.

You are right, I shouldn’t gamble my child’s happiness. My child is my flesh and blood. I worked so hard to nurture him all these years. I bore him for ten months and gave birth to him. How much I care for him, no one can know. But I just wish he can grow up happily, unaffected by anything, which is enough for me as a mother!

I also understand that many things have no way of being avoided. Dodging around, in the end, you still have to choose to face them and choose to face each step, which saves a lot of trouble. I know that everyone’s inner thoughts differ, just like my thoughts now. I only wish for my child to live happily, with no other thoughts. I never thought about continuing to live happily forever, I only want my son to take me, as his mother, as the pride of his life, that’s sufficient for me.”

”In fact, you should truly understand now, that in the end, you have nowhere to hide. The world is vast, but you can never escape his grasp. The entire world’s economy is in his hands. Do you think there’s any way to escape his pursuit? Since you have no way, don’t make futile struggles, which will only make the feelings between you grow distant. Leave each other a way out; don’t push each other to the limit. Otherwise, in the end, it’s the kindest person in each of your hearts who will get hurt!”

For the sake of your child, as a mother, indeed, you should courageously pay any price, should not fear the blames and pains endured for the sake of your son. But I also hope you can courageously keep living, you are the granddaughter-in-law I have high hopes for, how could I bear to see you and my dear grandson end up like this today? I am not a person who can’t distinguish right from wrong, quite the opposite, this old man has seen through all right and wrong in this world. I do not care about those big and small issues, no matter who started them. I care whether this family can go through peacefully ultimately, can remain united for a lifetime, respecting each other without constant conflicts over any issue!”

”Grandpa, you’re correct. The world is so vast, where can I take my son? I just didn’t expect, didn’t expect that such a vast world, in the end, has no place for my son and me. All the world’s economy is in his hands, no one dares to take me in, and no one can go against him. Gradually, I understood, many things shouldn’t be forced. In the end, what belongs to you will always belong to you, even excessive wishful thinking will yield no results if it doesn’t belong to you. Why not let go and be happy, and allow those whom you once loved to smile forever without worries? Isn’t this more important than anything else?”

In the world of emotions, I feel like a fool, nothing compares to her.
