My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1854: Chapter 1648: Trapped!

Xia Jing heard the doctor’s words, and his mindset collapsed instantly. He hadn’t expected the severity of the situation to reach this level. Time and again, he hoped in his heart that one day he would awaken, but now, his hope had gradually dwindled to nothing. He knew that this time, it might truly be hard for him to continue living.

At that moment, all the moments with his husband flashed through his mind: every caring inquiry, every genuine companionship, every hand extended to him during his saddest times, every shoulder he leaned on that provided warmth and comfort. All these scenes rushed through his mind, and he knew he was truly deeply moved.

Years ago, he might have wondered if he was doing the right thing, but now he couldn’t afford the time to think. His husband was in this state because of him. If he kept opposing him continuously, what would others say about him?

”Sister, seeing you able to wake up and take the subway makes me really happy. Don’t worry too much; I believe that brother-in-law has his own blessings and nothing bad will happen to him. We’ll all take good care of ourselves while waiting for a miracle to happen to him, waiting for him to wake up, especially you, sister. If your health deteriorates, and when brother-in-law wakes up and sees you hurt, how could he possibly be happy?

You know how important you are to him. For you, he’s willing to pay any price, even disregard his own life. If anything happens to you, how can he continue to live in this world?”

Xiao Wei understood that what Xia Jing needed most right now was comfort and encouragement. If as a brother, he couldn’t give his sister some support and encouragement, he’d be genuinely worried that his sister might collapse and really be unable to continue.

”Xiao Wei, what you said is very right. I really should take care of myself, must persevere, waiting for him to wake up. He’s willing to disregard his life for me; now, how could he not want to wake up? I believe he wouldn’t be able to leave me alone in this world. No matter how many hardships lie ahead, no matter what fate or consequences he faces, I will accompany him step by step to the end. I will never again think of letting go of his hand and letting him bear all the pain and hurt alone!

All along, I’ve been too selfish, never truly considering what my family needs. If I had thought more about them, things wouldn’t be as they are now. Who can truly understand how much my heart aches inside? I just want him to live happily. I just want to stay by his side, but repeatedly, the outcome is that I can only silently endure the pain of his imminent departure from me.

You have no idea what it’s like for me to be with him all these years, wandering outside and not being able to return home, even when having a home and not being able to go back. Although it’s uncomfortable, he has essentially provided me a home despite being outside. He has unconditionally cared for me and sacrificed everything for me. When life repeatedly tests me, placing his life on the line for me time and again – do you understand how deeply moved I am?

I won’t do anything now; I’ll simply pray silently. I will pray to Heaven, asking for all the pain he bears to be placed on me. Now, I’m willing to endure any suffering for him. He did too much for me in the past, bearing all the pain and impacts alone again and again. Despite being beside him, I used words to attack him repeatedly, he never abandoned me. Such husbands are scarce in the world!”

Zhang Yichen thought, if his father could hear his wife say such things, how excited and thrilled he would be. Unfortunately, when he was clear-headed, all he received were endless disputes, ultimately forced to choose to leave, with no one willing to stand in his shoes to consider his problems. Now that he fainted, someone is finally willing to express their inner feelings, but at this point, he can’t hear anything, only facing the torture brought by all the pain alone.

Everyone is praying to Heaven, hoping for Zhang Zhentian to wake up soon.

Zhang Yichen: Heaven, I hope you can treat my father kindly for once. I’ve already let go of all hatred towards him, so why must you still torment him this way, imposing such a blow on my family again? Please give me a chance to experience familial care once more.

Xia Jing: Dear Heaven, all my past actions were wrong. Only after losing him did I realize he holds such an important place in my heart. I regret now, can you give me another chance? Please, let him wake up and stay by my side. I promise to treat him well throughout my life; I won’t treat him like I did before. I truly know my mistakes, so please give me another chance. Let him wake up.

Xiao Wei: I ask for nothing now except for Heaven to let my brother-in-law wake up and not let my sister suffer any more. He’s truly not had an easy time; step by step, he came to today only for the sake of his loved one. He never imagined the ending would be like this. Since the world emphasizes the union of lovers, why not fulfill them?

Li Jiayuan: Heaven, I’ve also gone through storms, but I haven’t lived as hard as sister and brother-in-law. It was truly challenging for them to come this far step by step. Please give them another chance, let them stay together forever, never to be apart again. If there’s truly a punishment, I’m willing to share it for them. Please treat them well for once, any little chance is better than nothing.

...

Everyone prays repeatedly, but does Heaven truly understand? Ultimately, he can only face the repeated blows brought by Heaven, wondering what consequences will come out of it. Perhaps he’ll spend his life passing through such suffering.

Sometimes it feels as if time stops completely, ceases to move, and everything turns still!
