My Alleged Husband

Chapter 547: Chapter 526 Revealing the Truth_1

”Grandpa, please don’t say that, I’m actually very grateful to you. If it hadn’t been for you, how could I have achieved what I have today? Even though I endured pain that others wouldn’t bear, and although every step was incredibly difficult, I always had a conviction that sustained me, that was to prove to my parents that their decision was wrong, to prove to the world that I am the most powerful, supreme above all!”

When I was hurt back then and saw you, Grandpa, you looked the other way. I truly felt a deep despair. I knew my heart was also wounded, but now I understand, that time wasn’t because you didn’t want to heal me, but because you were training me to heal myself. I know you didn’t want me to be a lower-class person but to be an upper-class person!”

Many times, I really don’t understand why I was so obsessed with that path. If it weren’t for that, could I have spent more time by your side, Grandpa? In those days, you were very harsh on me, making me endure pain not everyone could withstand, yet I clenched my teeth and persisted. Maybe you thought I would give up on her, you didn’t anticipate I would persist until the end. When I did, you were greatly impressed! No one would believe that a mere child could bear so much pain, completing all the devilish training, no one would believe a child could have such determination and perseverance!”

In fact, deep down, you still miss my father, but you say one thing and mean another, not wanting to speak it out loud. You want to leave a bit of dignity for both of us. Even if you don’t say it, I understand very well. When you sought out my father to have him return, and after his cold refusal, your heart must have been hurt. Naturally, you felt that as a father reaching out to his own son, only to be ungraciously rejected, it’s unbearable for anyone. So, I understand your feelings, Elder Zhang, as proud as you are, wanting to preserve some self-respect is understandable, but sometimes pride should never override reason!”

”I made a promise to you that I wouldn’t seek out my father and talk to him, because I want him to naturally realize how wrong his actions were, how unforgivable his actions towards you were. I want him to live with guilt for the rest of his life. Grandpa, you know, my heart isn’t made of stone, often just a few kind words can soften me, I can’t stand to see others suffer a little because of me, but Grandpa, you have suffered so much because of me, endured so many trials, and yet I am powerless...”

”Silly child, one must walk their own path, it’s not made by others laying it out for you. Since your father undoubtedly chose this path of no return, let him go down it alone, without anyone’s interference. Let him experience the life he wants, which may not be important to others, but is very important to me. I need to show him through this, that the mistakes he made, have no chance of being rectified in this lifetime. Perhaps you think my methods are too ruthless, but I have to do it, it’s necessary, otherwise, he will never realize where he went wrong!”

”Child, Grandpa is tired, wants to sleep for a while. Go ahead and eat these things, you all should go back for now, if there’s anything, I’ll call you!”

Zhang Yichen nodded, he stood up and left, knowing that saying more now would be meaningless. It appeared he had to find his father himself. If the truth wasn’t told, and someday Old Master Zhang truly left him, then his heart would undoubtedly harbor guilt, unable to forgive himself forever.

When Zhentian saw his own son appear at his place, he was momentarily stunned. He couldn’t believe his son would come to find him again. What could it be this time?

”I don’t know why you’re here to see me, but out with it. I have other things to do, and if there’s nothing, then don’t come to bother me again in the future!”

”Are you still my father? Are you still Grandpa’s son? Are you still a part of the Zhang Family? Do you still acknowledge our ancestors? Why do your actions always cause such heartache and resentment, do you know? Grandpa is critically ill in the hospital, he so desperately wishes for you to return to him, but you haven’t. You always assume he can come home and continue to live healthily, but do you know? He’s now been diagnosed with lung cancer and might never have the chance to leave the hospital again, his life could end with this sudden heart attack. Do you not feel a hint of guilt? Have you never thought why he suddenly had a heart attack and ended up like this in the hospital? You’re my biological father, Grandpa’s biological son, how can you bring yourself to treat him this way? You’ve hurt me time and again, I can bear it because you’re my father, and I have nothing to say. But what about Grandpa? He doesn’t owe you, on the contrary, it was your choice to leave the family behind. Yet, in the end, you blame everything on Grandpa? Why? Just because he birthed you, gave you a life free of worries, taught you for so many years, gave you everything you wanted? So you think it’s natural to hurt him like this? Don’t you think that’s ingratitude? Today I saw Grandpa cry, I’ve never seen him so heartbroken. He was really very sad, he went to his biological son, hoping for a reunion, but got rejected instead. He’s critically ill, waiting for a son who’s not coming, how lonely and desperate must he feel? But if you have any conscience, please go and be with Grandpa. Regardless of your motives, I hope you can put aside your so-called dignity and accompany him!”

After saying his piece, Zhang Yichen slammed the door and left.
