My Alleged Husband

Chapter 514: Chapter 493 Too Much_1

”You are my biological son—how can you say such things to me? Do you think you can talk to your mother the way you talk to your own father? With this attitude, you dare to say that your grandfather has been carefully guiding you? Is this how he taught you to treat your parents, with such disrespect? Now I finally understand why you care so much about your grandfather—because the habits he’s instilled in you are utterly deplorable. Shouting at your parents, showing no respect at all! If you really hope to leave a good legacy for your grandfather, then please show some respect to your parents, at least in your tone of voice. Do you think there is any respect in the way you’re speaking to me right now? Do you even treat me as your father? Don’t you think the way you speak and behave is really too much? Why, just because you’re my child, do you think you can yell at me, your father? In your eyes, do I mean nothing as a father? Are you not afraid that one day all this will come back to haunt you? As your father, I shouldn’t be cursing you in this tone, but you’ve really gone too far, repeatedly destroying the relationship between your mother and me. I can understand that—after all, we did abandon you, and you’ve always harbored a grudge against us in your heart. We could forgive that, but you don’t have to go so far as to repeatedly drive your mother and me to divorce!” Zhang Zhentian was utterly confused and shifted all his mistakes onto his son.

Zhang Yichen found this situation quite ridiculous. Clearly, it was his own father’s fault, and now he was trying to pin it on him. It seemed his father was still the same as before, never having the courage to bear the consequences of his own mistakes, always looking to make others the scapegoat, to take the blame for him. But he didn’t realize that Yichen was not the kind of insignificant ant that could be manipulated and obediently follow orders. That was absolutely impossible. If he dared to blame Yichen, then he would definitely fight back, regardless of who the person was; he would never let them off. He never expected this to actually happen, and the person wronging him was none other than his biological father, which was simply unimaginable.

”Dad, are you really still my dad? The things you said and did today—do you really deserve to be my dad? Haven’t you noticed that everything you’ve done is just too much? You don’t have the courage to face up to the mistakes you’ve made, pushing the blame onto my mother, causing her heart to grow cold towards you; ultimately leading her to divorce you and end this unhappy marriage. But unexpectedly, now you’re pushing your mistakes onto me. Do you still want me to naively take the fall for you, to be your scapegoat? Do you really think everyone in this world will blindly obey you? The only person like that was my mother, because she truly loved you. She treated you as the husband of her life, that’s why she dealt with you in that way. But I won’t, because besides being a son, I’m also a man. I have my pride, I know what is right to do and what is not. I also know when to yield and when not to. I’m not like my father, who, after making mistakes, doesn’t dare to admit them, always thinking of pushing his errors onto others to bear the consequences. Do you really think you’ll be happy inside doing this? Don’t you know that by doing this you’re only pushing me and mom further away from you? One day you’ll realize, the people who loved you most were me and my mother, the ones you always hurt were those who truly treated you as family. One day, you’ll understand that what you’ve lost will never come back to you, and when you do regret it, please don’t turn back and cry, saying you shouldn’t have done what you did, because it will be useless. Anyone can be a Monday morning quarterback, but who truly repents for the mistakes in their heart? Don’t think that by saying a few nice words to mom, she will soften and agree to get back together with you; but I won’t let that happen! I’d rather have my mother live alone on the outside, happy and relaxed, without any stress or burden, rather than live with someone like you; every day filled with fear, afraid that you would leave her, afraid that she would lose you one day, even though the day she truly lost you was brought about by you, because you were the one who asked for a divorce, you were the one who abandoned her, it was you who didn’t allow her to be by your side. All these consequences are of your own making; how dare you make others the scapegoat to bear it all? Not everyone is a fool, and I am certainly not one!”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t expect that in his son’s eyes, he was such a father. All the things he had done over the years—did his own son see them all? Did he really know that every single thing he did was a mistake? But he hadn’t really done anything too outrageous, so why did his son have to say such things about him? Was he really that contemptible as a father in the eyes of his son? After all, he was his son, so why would his own flesh and blood say such things about him? Did they really think he didn’t deserve to be their elder?

”Actually, you don’t need to keep thinking about other things. The reason I call you ’Dad’ today is that I truly respect you from the bottom of my heart. You gave me life, giving me the opportunity to achieve what I have today. I’m very grateful to you, no matter why you abandoned me back then, I won’t blame you, because I’ve long since forgiven you. But I can’t bear the pain you’ve inflicted on me again and again. Do you know, Grandpa? Grandpa loved me so much, he did everything for me, always going out of his way to give me the best of everything. Although my childhood was difficult, I was also very happy, because my achievements today are the results of my own efforts, not someone else’s charity...”
