My Alleged Husband

Chapter 525: Chapter 504 Desperate Situation_1

”A dead end? You’re actually telling me now that I’ve driven you to a dead end? Have you forgotten how you treated me back in the day? The moment you heartlessly abandoned me, didn’t you ever think there could be an ending like today? I really don’t understand what kind of reason gives you the courage to say such words to me today?

Do you have any idea how much pain I felt deep in my heart when you abandoned me, such pain that even breathing was difficult? Do you know how painful that must have been? But what about you? You felt it didn’t matter because I didn’t exist in your eyes. You thought by abandoning me, you could find a better place to call home, but what is the reality? You’ve been searching for so many years, and in the end, you still come back to me. But why, why should I continue to live shamelessly with you after being abandoned, wouldn’t that be losing my own dignity?

Do you think everyone is like you, unable to live without seeing you? But let me tell you, it’s not like that. Without you, I can still live a happy life. I can still be happy for your sake. I do not have to be with you for my entire life to have everything I want. When I was with you in the beginning, I got your family’s money, and in the end, because of you, I gave up my own flesh and blood, leading to my son hating me to the bone. Do you know how much pain that is for a mother’s heart?

But that kind of pain, I can’t speak of it. Because I can only hide it deep in my heart. That kind of pain, I have endured once in this lifetime, and I never want to experience it a second time. For your sake, I’ve already sacrificed so much, yet in your eyes, I am nothing. Maybe for you, giving me up was the best decision you could make for your life, but do you know? Without me, there is no longer any brilliance in your life!”

”Isn’t it you who have driven me to a dead end? The woman I’ve cherished, the woman I wanted to marry and take care of at home now says she doesn’t want me just like that. How can my heart accept this? How can I face others? All I wanted were just these few simple things, yet you couldn’t meet my needs because you think all of it is fake, all of it is a lie!

You always think it’s the lies I told that deceived you, but haven’t you ever lied to me? Dare you swear and ask yourself if you’ve never deceived me from the beginning until the end? You dare not, because you know very well, the lies you’ve told me aren’t just one or told once, and yet I forgave you time and again like a naive fool, because I thought since we are husband and wife, it’s only natural, excusable to occasionally make mistakes. No one is perfect for a lifetime because not even a Saint, as formidable as he can be, is immune to mistakes! So I could let go of every single mistake you’ve made in the past without delving into them, as if nothing ever happened. But your repeated deception and ultimately ruthlessly abandoning me, that I will never forget. Do you still remember that day? How unwilling I was to divorce you, but what about you? You resorted to trickery just to get me to file for divorce with you. Perhaps in your eyes, in that moment, you no longer saw me as your wife. At that moment, all you wanted was the gain in your eyes, thinking that with gain you had everything. But have you ever thought that while you gained those benefits, you lost me!

Isn’t it true that everyone makes mistakes in life, but not every mistake is worthy of forgiveness. If someone forgives you once, it gives you the reason to commit the same mistake again. But why should they keep forgiving your errors and getting hurt by you time and again? Everyone should have dignity, must be self-aware, knowing what should be done and what shouldn’t. You have to understand what can be comprehended and what can’t, because when some things happen, they happen. No matter what excuses you look for to cover up the mistakes you’ve made, these are facts that can never be concealed, they are truly impossible to erase!”

Zhang Zhentian finally understood what his wife meant. He knew that she would definitely not live with him anymore. If all these mistakes were his own, what reason did he have to blame others? These mistakes he made himself, shouldn’t he bear the responsibility for them properly?

Maybe he did things too extremely in the past, which made his beloved wife lose her affection for him, leading her to prefer roaming the world to coming back to him. As a husband, how negligent must he have been to have his wife choose to live alone for the rest of her life rather than accompany him?

At this moment, he felt very remorseful. Clearly, things were not so complicated, yet why, because of his own reasons, had things become so complicated, and he had no way to reject? It seems everything was destined to happen this way. Why did he, after all that has transpired, still push all the blame on his wife, making her drift further away from him, ultimately even less willing to return to him? All of these outcomes were just because of his own selfishness, so what right or reason did he have to resent others?

”No matter what you say today, I will not call out to you like I did in the past. I hope you can think clearly about the decisions you’ve made. Although they cannot be changed, we can start over. If in your heart you still have me and want to rebuild a family with me, let our son live in a happy and harmonious home, then please think thrice before acting. Do not make a decision that is difficult for everyone to face. I know I’ve done everything too excessively in the past, but I have turned over a new leaf. Now, I just want to be wholly devoted to living with you, can’t I do that?”

Xia Jing really did not expect her inconceivable husband would actually lower his head and plead with her. It really opened her eyes, yet her heart was also in turmoil. Should she walk down this dead-end road?
