My Alleged Husband

Chapter 540: Chapter 519 Reconciliation Like Before_1

After a fierce argument, the two of them finally realized that only each other was the best match, and so they reconciled, holding hands together as before.

In the hospital, they constituted the most beautiful scenery. No other couple in any family was as loving as they were. Though they had endured so much pain and suffering throughout their lives, in the end, they managed to come together. This could only mean that they were truly well-suited for each other.

Zhang Yichen looked at Ran Zhihan, feeling somewhat guilty inside. The woman before him loved him so dearly, yet he had cruelly doubted her, exchanging such harsh words and making her so utterly embarrassed. He felt utterly unworthy of being her husband. Thankfully, they were willing to forgive him and continue to live with him. This was the best outcome for him, and he could not ask for more in this lifetime, yet he was already very content.

Ran Zhihan, standing to one side, smiled sweetly, completely unaware of the expression on her husband’s face. She did not know that since this incident, her husband would cherish her so dearly, consulting her on everything. Only then did she understand how right her original decision had been. Luckily, she hadn’t given up on the man she loved most; otherwise, she would have been the one to regret it for a lifetime. Where else could she find such a man?

”Zhihan, now that we’ve reconciled, shouldn’t we hurry to take care of an especially important matter?” When Zhang Yichen saw the puzzled look on Ran Zhihan’s face after hearing this, he knew his little wife must not have understood which matter he was referring to. He could only reach out and gently stroke the head of the woman he loved the most, saying softly, ”Look, our son is already six years old, right? At six years old, he surely hopes to have a brother or sister to accompany him. If he had a sibling, even if we were to leave this place one day, or perhaps even leave this world, at least he would have family to stay by his side. Wouldn’t that be perfect? So you understand what I’m trying to say, right? You do understand, don’t you?”

As soon as Ran Zhihan heard this, her mind exploded with a bang. How could she possibly figure out so many things all at once? They had just reconciled, and now he was talking about giving their son a brother or sister? What kind of logic was that?

”I don’t understand what you’re trying to say. We’ve just finished arguing and just reconciled. How can we do such a thing right after reconciling? You’re still on probation, you know; I haven’t really forgiven you yet. Wait until the day I can truly forgive you, then you can talk to me about this matter. Right now, I need to go check on Grandpa. He’s all alone in the hospital room, how lonely he must be. I have to go and talk with him...”

After speaking, Ran Zhihan turned and ran, not giving Zhang Yichen a chance to respond!

Watching Ran Zhihan’s retreating figure, Zhang Yichen’s heart was filled with emotion.

With such an adorable wife, how could he ever have the heart to hurt her, to say those humiliating words to her? Did he truly deserve to be her husband? If there is a next life, I must be with her again. Then I will trust her wholeheartedly and will not doubt her for any reason, nor will I suspect her of betraying me.

Zhang Yichen followed Ran Zhihan to Old Master Zhang’s hospital room. When Old Master Zhang saw them walking toward him, holding hands and smiling, he knew that the young couple had restored their previous harmony, that they had reconciled. This was a huge joy for Old Master Zhang. He cared increasingly less about things; he now only wished to see his grandson live a happy life, and that would be enough for him. He no longer had the same expectations as before for his son to return to his side. After this incident, he realized, no matter what happened, his son would never return, for his son had long since forgotten his father. How could his son possibly choose to come home to look after him, just because he was ill? That was utterly impossible.

”Have you two made up?” Old Master Zhang hadn’t intended to reveal all the secrets, but as soon as he did speak, he let slip everything that had been going on. Anyone could tell that he had noticed the discord between Ran Zhihan and Zhang Yichen, but he had chosen not to speak, instead giving the couple a veiled reminder. He knew that if he meddled, they would only drift further apart—sometimes a subtle reminder can have an extraordinary effect.

Bowing her head, Ran Zhihan said to Old Master Zhang, ”Grandpa, I’m sorry for making you worry about our affairs. We were wrong. We will definitely live well together in the future, no longer quarreling at the drop of a hat, and no longer giving each other the silent treatment. Getting caught in the middle, the most troubled ones would be you and our son. I’ve realized now that to love someone is to love all of them, to tolerate everything about them, not to mind every word they say but to care whether they are sincere to you!

Although Yichen said many things that embarrassed me during our fight, I don’t blame him. He was driven to a corner. I know his reservations inside, but it was my fault in the first place. What right do I have to blame anyone else? As long as he is happy, that’s truly enough for me. I don’t ask for much. I just want my family to be safe, and for the ones I love to be by my side—that’s enough!”

”Grandpa, thank you. If it weren’t for your simple truth, I wouldn’t have understood. You made me see my mistakes, and you showed me how far off the mark I was...”

Before Old Master Zhang had a chance to speak, Zhang Yichen started, ”Grandpa, I was wrong in this matter, too. You have such an eye for heroes; how could you not know what happened between us? Just one look, and you knew we had a disagreement. Yet, you chose to say nothing, for which I’m grateful. You’ve preserved my last shred of dignity. It was you who made me realize that a wife is to be cherished and trusted. You taught me that the most important thing between husband and wife is trust. As long as there is trust, then we can certainly get through all difficulties together. Thank you. We will always be by your side...”
