My Alleged Husband

Chapter 498: Chapter 477 I Didn’t Mean It_1

Ran Zhihan knew she had hurt her husband’s body once, and she knew that this time there really was no way out, but what could she do? It was clear that this was all her own doing—could she still blame someone else? If she hadn’t done such a thing, then her husband wouldn’t have exploded in anger; if she hadn’t deceived her own bedmate, then how could this outcome have occurred? Often it was her own mistakes that caused them both such embarrassment. Many things didn’t need to escalate to this point. Their baby had changed because of some people’s decisions, just like this time. If she hadn’t done such a thing, her husband would have had no reason to fly into a rage. But once things happened, they happened. Nothing she said was useful anymore, nor was there any way to make up for the mistakes she had made and the hurt she had caused her husband. Often when you do anything, you shouldn’t count on sheer luck, because nothing in this world will wait for you forever; you always have to bear responsibility for your own actions.

”Yichen, I really didn’t mean to deceive you. It’s my fault, but you don’t have to be so cruel to me! Don’t you realize how much you’re hurting me inside? After all, we’ve shared a bed for so many years, and we have such a cute son. How can you bear to say such things to me? Don’t you know how much your words hurt me? We’re husband and wife, aren’t we? Shouldn’t we try to understand and tolerate each other? Why have we become like this?”

Zhang Yichen found the whole situation rather amusing. Clearly, it had nothing to do with him, and the outcome was solely the result of his wife’s actions. Why was he being blamed as the principal culprit? Was it his fault after all? Was it because he had forced her to lie to him?

”Things have already come to this, and yet you still don’t realize what you’ve done really makes people miserable. Now you’re telling me it wasn’t intentional. Then tell me, how is it supposed to be intentional? Am I supposed to wait until you stab me with a knife to think it’s intentional? Enough with the excuses, they do me no good. Your incessant justifications only make me see you as someone who shirks responsibility. Don’t you know what you’ve done? Don’t you know you should be setting a good example for your son? And here you are, arguing with me. Acting this way only makes me lose respect for you. Many things weren’t so complicated, yet you’ve made a mess of them. Now you think I should forgive you? Do you think that’s possible? Our son is still young, and I don’t want him to be affected by our relationship. Whatever decisions we make, we must not let our child know about them. After all, he is innocent and deserves a happy childhood. Sometimes when a person is troubled, they always want another person to forgive them — I know that’s normal. If you didn’t feel that way, then you wouldn’t be human. But does acting like this really make someone forgive you? I am not my father; I can’t do it. Once you’ve done something, it’s done. I won’t believe anything you say. You’ve already deceived me once; who’s to say you won’t choose to deceive me again? You’re talking now, but you’ve become someone I no longer recognize—the person I knew before would never lie to me. Back then, you thought being with me was the happiest time, and that we should always be honest with each other. But now you’ve changed your mind. So why should I trust and tolerate and treat you as well as I used to?” Zhang Yichen was truly disillusioned!

”Actually, this whole thing isn’t that bad. You just need to be a little more understanding, and we could easily resolve this issue. Why should we let such a trivial matter destroy our relationship? I know the thing that shakes you most in life is being lied to by others. But I hope you understand that I did this all for you, and I hope that you will hold me in the most important place in your heart. Don’t tell me we shouldn’t be together anymore. That would cause me so much pain!”

”So, she caused you pain? Doesn’t that mean I’m not in pain? I trusted you so much, I treated you like family. But why did you lie to me? Is there something you can’t tell me, or are you hiding something? No matter who you did it for, the lies you told are just that—lies. I will absolutely not tolerate someone who lies to me staying by my side because that’s just too terrifying. I understand the principle of trusting those you employ, but your words really hurt me so much. You are my wife, how could you lie to your own husband? Don’t you know that the most important things between spouses are honesty and trust? If you can’t be honest, I can’t trust you. If you trusted me, you should have told me everything instead of hiding it. Do you think I wouldn’t ever find out the truth? When that day comes, won’t it be even more embarrassing for us? How will we face each other then? You never thought about that, so why should I consider your feelings? What you did was too much. This time, I hope you remember; you’ve hurt me—the person who loves you the most. You are my wife, and I can’t help loving you, but I can choose not to be with you. Starting today, we will live separately. You are not to step into my bedroom, and I will absolutely not come to you. We both need time to cool off. How could you expect me to just forgive you for what you’ve done? If I could forgive you that easily, I wouldn’t be myself!”
