My Alleged Husband

Chapter 493: Chapter 472: Don’t Let Me Down

”Grandpa, even if things are like this, no matter how much my parents have hurt you, you still have me. I have always been by your side, never giving up on you; you raised me. I will never be ungrateful like my father. He is my father, and I have no right to criticize him. But often, I can’t stand his actions. Why can he love his family so much yet hurt you this way? Why does he want to hold on to those who treat him poorly forever? I know many things are not as simple as I imagine, but my heart still feels injustice for you. You gave up so much for him, yet how does he treat you! I know you feel uneasy and imbalanced inside, but sometimes the truth is just that cruel. You know those things have nothing to do with you, and you have no way to control them. But you still have to face them. Everyone will go through many difficulties in life. They have gone through so much but still don’t understand what is most important to them. So, what right do they have to stay at home? That kind of parent is no longer important to me. Since I am not in their hearts, why should I value them? I am their biological son, and they can abandon me so casually. What can’t they do to me? So don’t care about their things while running or pay attention to their actions; it will only make you sad and tired!”

”You know everything you say is for a good reason. But many things are not so easily forgotten. I raised him for so many years; how can I just forget him and abandon those feelings? I value him so much; he is my son, my family. How can I abandon him just because of what he did or said, or the harm he caused? In my heart, he will always be my son because he is the child I painstakingly raised. His mother died giving birth to him; how can I abandon him just like that? You are still young and have many things you don’t understand. You don’t understand the pain and torment in grandpa’s heart. Many times grandpa also doesn’t want to think about such things because they make his heart conflicted and painful. But what can he do? He is still my biological son. No matter what, I will never abandon him. I want to bring him back home, let him grow happily in my heart. So much time has passed; perhaps he really hates me now. I have kicked him out time and again, and every time he shamelessly comes back, I reject him once more. How can a child’s heart not ache? His own father doesn’t want him at home; what path can he take?”

”But grandpa, he brought all of this upon himself. He has done so many wrong things; it’s countless. He not only hurt you but also my wife and my son. I have never mentioned it because I feel I shouldn’t look at my parents that way. But what about them? Did they consider that we are a family? Did they consider that their actions make us miserable? They never thought of that. So why should we treat them as family? Isn’t that asking for trouble? Maybe in his eyes, our family is insignificant. Who in the world acts so selfishly as parents? You also know how much I missed them all these years they were gone. I cried under the covers countless times for them. At night I cried and missed them, but during the day I had to face the world as if nothing happened. They had fun leading their lives freely outside without considering how worried and upset we are at home. They always act so irresponsibly. Why should we think about everything they want to do? Let them do what they want. If they cause a result, they must bear it themselves. They can’t blame others and flee every time they mess up. Don’t they know everyone must bear responsibility for their mistakes? Not everyone in the world will tolerate them as you do, grandpa, always loving them unconditionally. No one else will forgive them time and again for their mistakes without repentance. They must face their responsibilities, and there’s no escape from that! If they refuse to take responsibility for their actions and just want to escape, then they are cowards. I disdain having such cowards as my parents. I can tolerate all their mistakes, but not when they hurt the ones I love most. Hurting you, grandpa, someone who painstakingly loves me, I cannot allow that. I will never stand by and let them hurt you again!”

”Child, you are grandpa’s greatest pride, but I hope you understand. Whatever you do, never let me down. You are the one grandpa loves the most. Your father is ungrateful, and grandpa can no longer bear such pain. I hope you manage the family affairs well. Grandpa’s company is his life’s work; he hopes you will take good care of it. Remember, do not disappoint grandpa!”

”Yes, grandpa, I understand. I will not disappoint you. Everything I do is to prove to my parents that I am the strongest. I will never let my parents look down on me. I will announce to the world that I am the master of this world and the master of my own destiny. Those who look down on me, I will never forgive, especially my parents who hurt you, grandpa...”
