My Alleged Husband

Chapter 477: Chapter 456 Son, Help Me!_1

”Dad, I’m your own son, so can’t you help me with this? What’s so hard about helping me out just this once? I just need your help, and for you, it should be a simple effort. Why aren’t you willing to make this effort for me?” Zhang Zhentian was truly at a loss. He was so infuriated by his own dad that he was speaking incoherently, and without any restraint. Old Master Zhang felt very distressed upon hearing these words from his son. It seemed that no matter how much he, as a father, had done for his son, in his son’s eyes he had always been unappreciative and had never made enough effort. How much more did he have to do to make his unfilial son understand just how exhausting it was to be a father?

”Do you realize how much pain you’re causing me with what you’ve said today? I’ve given so much for you, but why do you always see me as lacking effort? Can’t you think a little when you do things? Can’t you consider the other person’s feelings when you say these things? Are you really going to be this self-centered forever, saying whatever comes to mind, doing whatever you think of, without ever considering others’ feelings? It was like this in the past, like this before, like this now; do you mean to tell me it will stay this way in the future? So many years have passed without any progress, are you still the same as before? You make me feel like I’ve let down the ancestors of the Zhang Family. How did I bring into this world such a son without filial piety, such an incoherent son? I hope the words you said to me today are only for today. If you dare to speak to me like this ever again, I will never forgive you for the rest of my life. I used to think you were just young and didn’t understand, but now your son is grown, you even have a grandson, and you’re still talking to me like this, it’s hard for me to accept. Have I not sacrificed enough for you? How many mistakes have you made, and hasn’t it always been me who got you out of those predicaments? Yet you’re always so arrogant, stubborn in your ways, decisive in your actions, without any consideration for my feelings as a father. What gives you the right to be my son, and what gives you the right to be a child of the Zhang Family? I feel ashamed for our ancestors to have you in the Zhang Family!”

”Since you’re unwilling to help me, let’s leave it at that. Let’s pretend I never asked you for help. I will never ask you for help with these things again, so I hope you remember every word you said today. This is what you, as a father, have said to your son. I know I’ve been unfilial all these years, never accompanying you by your side, never showing you respect. All these years, it was my son who stayed with you. If he accompanies you, isn’t it the same as if I, his father, were there? Why do you have to quibble over these matters? Why can’t we just let go of our prejudices and live happily together?”

After finishing his piece, Zhang Zhentian turned around and walked out of the Zhang Family’s gate. He decided not to ask his dad for help anymore. He now knew that his father would never help him, no matter what. He could only turn to his own son for help now. Perhaps only his son would be willing to help him, maybe only with his son’s help would he have a slim chance of survival.

”Son, if you still consider me your dad, then I hope you can do me a favor. Go talk to your mom, ask her not to leave me, to come back to me, so we can live as a family. If your mom leaves, it would really hurt me deep inside!”

”Now you come to me saying that your mom leaving has hurt you, but have you ever thought about how much it hurt me when you heartlessly left, how much it hurt Grandpa? You’re his own flesh and blood, yet you could do something so heartless. If my mom is treating you like this, it’s already merciful. I definitely won’t help you persuade her to come back to you. On the contrary, I think my mom separating from you is her happiness, as she can live the life she wants, without having to compromise to stay with you. I know my mom has often been unhappy, forcing herself to stay by your side, not wanting to bring you any regrets. But in the end, you cold-heartedly abandoned her. Since you chose to leave her once, don’t now have the gall to ask her back. Your idea is wrong, and my mom will definitely not return to you just because of a few sweet words. You should understand my mom’s character better than I do. Decisions she makes, she does not regret. Since you’ve hurt her so deeply and irreversibly, why should she return now, to continue suffering with you? Wouldn’t it be better for her to live the carefree life she wants? Why fall back into this deep pit with you, to never have peace for the rest of her life?”

”Are you still my son? How can you talk like this? Do you have any idea how much these words hurt us? Why have you become like this? I know it, it must be Grandpa who taught you to say this, right? I never would have thought that my own dad could be so heartless, even corrupting my son. You are proving that Grandpa failed to raise you properly, turning you into a child without family education.”

”Anyone can criticize me but you cannot. I’m the child Grandpa raised with great effort, I have nothing to do with you. You abandoned me, remember? Now what right do you have to insult my Grandpa? He’s your own father, you have no place to say these things, especially when he has sacrificed so much for you. You are the last person on earth who has the right to badmouth Grandpa. If I hear you speaking ill of Grandpa ever again, I will not let it slide. What gives you the right? Just because you brought me into this world? Time and again you’ve hurt those who love you, and although we can disregard it, I will not forgive you for speaking ill of Grandpa. From now on, don’t contact me, and let’s not see each other again. Because when I see you, I’m reminded of the hurtful things you said about Grandpa, and it just breaks my heart...”
