My Alleged Husband

Chapter 461: Chapter 440 How is it not suitable?_1

”Why am I not fit to be a member of this family anymore, why am I not fit to be your father, why am I not fit to be my father’s son? Haven’t I done everything for you all? Why will you never understand my intentions for you, why will you never know how much I care about you, what else do you want me to do to prove that I care before you feel happy inside? Have any of your mistakes ever considered us? You only ever think of yourself, you’ve never thought about how much longing I, as a father, have for you.”

”Please don’t talk to me with the tone of a father, because all these years, you’ve never raised me. Less than a month after I was born, you abandoned me. After abandonment, it was my grandfather who painstakingly brought me up, who suffered bitterness to raise me, who gave me everything I wanted, who made me into a genius unlike any other in the world. It was my grandfather who made me who I am today, who gave me a new life, who made me into someone who can control his own destiny. And what have you given me? Time and time again, you hurt me, abandoned me, yet I’ve always chosen to forgive you. In your eyes, was all this just what I deserved? Do you think this is what I, as a son, should endure? But have you ever thought about how disgusting your own heart really is, seeing your own son endure so much pain, losing so much weight, seeing your own son put up with others’ ridicule at school—and where were my parents? When I suffered the most, when I needed my mom and dad the most, I want to ask you, where were you, the so-called father? What have you given me, and how have you treated me? All you chose to do was to keep on hurting me, never thinking of protecting me. You never considered me your son, so why should I treat you like a father? I know what you want to say, you want to tell me that our blood relationship will never change. I admit, blood cannot be changed, but do you know how ashamed I feel having half of my blood come from you? Because of your ignorance, because of your heartlessness, I was repeatedly put in danger, letting others mock me as a child unloved by his parents. Do you know how much that hurt me inside? You never thought about what I wanted, you just speculated about what was in my heart, and in the end, all you wanted was what you consider benefits for yourselves. By coming to lecture Grandfather today, you’re truly unfit to be his son. He misses you so much, he treats you as his precious son. But what about you? How can you treat him with such disrespect?”

Old Master Zhang felt deeply pained when he heard his grandson’s words. He didn’t understand why his own son couldn’t understand him like his grandson did. He was truly hurting inside, but who could possibly know the reason for his suffering, who could know for whom he had done so much, for whom he had tried to provide a good family environment. He wanted someone to have a good future, but why did it always end with such ruthless and ungrateful hurt, and why did he always end up feeling so heartbroken?

”Yichen, stop it. You know you’re doing this for Grandfather’s sake, but since your father doesn’t have us, this home, you or Grandfather in his heart, then why should we force things, why try to keep him with us against his will? Remember what he himself has said: if he keeps anything from us, then he shall never set foot in the Zhang Family home again. I hope he can keep this promise and not break his word over and over again. He is no longer fit to be one of the Zhang Family...”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Zhentian couldn’t help but ask, ”How am I unfit?”

Zhang Yichen grew even angrier upon hearing this, ”Fit? Are you truly certain that you’re fit to be part of the Zhao Family? A member of the Zhang Family would never treat Grandfather this way. Are you fit to treat your own father like this? Are you fit to treat your own son the way you do? Are you fit to treat your own family as you do? Are you fit to treat all those who love you the way you do? These countless details, each and every person will remember them. Maybe you’re the only one who has forgotten, your own kin—do you understand? We’ve completely seen through you now, we know exactly what kind of person you are. You can speak to Grandfather today, but tomorrow you might as well abandon me and him again. If that’s the case, why bother coming back to us and hurting us all over again? Do you know how much your hurt affects us, how much pain it causes in my heart? I loved you so much because you’re my father; I just wanted to be with you, to take good care of Grandfather, but I’ve realized it’s all impossible! Every decision you make is always so irrational, every mistake you’ve made always puts Grandfather and me in a difficult and heartbreaking position. With every action, you never consider the consequences, nor what you might lose by your actions. You always just follow your own heart, doing whatever you want without thinking of the consequences. If that’s how it is, why persist in wasting time with us? You’re better off accompanying your wife and living out the rest of your life. All you ever wanted was her, so I’d really like to see if your beloved wife will actually stay with you...”

”Let me tell you one more thing, no matter what, my wife will always be more important to me than any of you because she is my wife. Get it straight, my wife, where do you get off speaking about your mother like that? Aren’t you afraid of divine retribution? She’s your birth mother—how could you treat your own parents this way?”

”Sorry, I’m not afraid of divine retribution, for I’ve done nothing wrong. On the other hand, you, how you’ve treated Grandfather—aren’t you afraid of divine retribution? Grandfather is an old man, he loves you so much, but in the end, you’ve hurt him so deeply. You’d better watch out for what comes of it. Let me tell you, sometimes when you do something, you really should think whether it’ll bring down heavenly punishment, because Heaven does not take these things lightly...”
