Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 501: Chapter 310: Suggestions (2)

Jiang Hu was at a loss whether to laugh or cry; he was not so dense as to not understand this.

Xiaomi stuck out her tongue: ”Dad, Uncle Yang will definitely spread the word about making money with rice field fish, and next year many people will start raising them too.”

Jiang Hu poured all the fish from the bucket into a water tank in the kitchen; usually, the fish Uncle Liu caught were kept there, and every few days, he’d send some to his sons and grandsons.

”Wasn’t it the same in Fu’an Village before?”

Jiang Hu put down the wooden bucket, feeling that Xiaomi’s words must have a deeper meaning, so he directly asked, ”Xiaomi, is there something you want to tell Dad?”

Although Xiaomi was indeed just a child, Jiang Hu never thought of her as only a child.

Basically, as long as Xiaomi made a suggestion, not only him, but almost no one in the family ever opposed it.

Possibly because the title ’Little Lucky Star’ had already left a deep impression on people’s minds. Even if Xiaomi appeared to be no different from ordinary kids, her suggestions were always taken seriously.

Xiaomi didn’t know what her parents were thinking; when she suddenly mentioned everyone raising fish next year, she indeed had another motive.

While scooping water to wash the dishes, she offhandedly suggested: ”Dad, there are so many ponds in the village, but they’re all public. How about we dig a pond of our own specifically for raising fish?”

”Didn’t Uncle Yang say? Auntie’s older brother fishes on the lake; we can buy a variety of fish from them and directly raise them in our pond.”

Although it seemed quite absurd for a child to suggest digging a fish pond, most adults would typically ignore it.

But it was Xiaomi who said it!

Jiang Hu immediately fell into deep thought: ”Having our own fish pond would be convenient, especially since the current ducks and geese can only be raised in the village ponds, and only in small numbers.”

If they had their own pond and made it a bit bigger, they could raise fish, geese, and ducks.

Oh, also water hyacinths, they grow quickly, and harvesting them to feed pigs makes excellent forage, very tender, and can be chopped up to feed pigs and chickens.

The only worry with growing water hyacinths is their rapid growth; if too many cover the surface, blocking sunlight, things underwater could die, turning the water stagnant.

But their family wouldn’t worry about this at all; with so many pigs and chickens, ducks, and geese that can also eat water hyacinths.

The water hyacinths Xiaomi brought home before, even if they covered half the pond, could only feed the animals once.

The more Jiang Hu thought about it, the better Xiaomi’s idea seemed.

He couldn’t help but ruffle Xiaomi’s hair a few times: ”Great, Xiaomi, you’re really smart. We still have a few acres of wasteland left from the last purchase; after the rice is harvested, Dad will find someone to dig a fish pond.”

Raising fish isn’t the most important thing; for Jiang Hu, ducks and geese are more profitable than raising fish.

Xiaomi quickly dodged a couple of steps away, pouting: ”Dad, don’t touch my head; it won’t grow tall.”

She wasn’t even as tall as Xiao Wei now, even though she was supposed to be the older sister!

Jiang Hu laughed heartily: ”Alright, alright, I won’t touch it. Go check on your little bunny, Dad’s heading out to work.”

With that, he turned around and strode off.

Xiaomi puffed out her cheeks, remembered her little fox, and hurried outside too.

The little fox was still placed under the eaves. Xiaomi picked up the bamboo cage and headed to her room, just as her mother came out, telling her the fox’s nest was ready.

”You take it inside first; I’ll get some water to bring for the little fox, then boil some hot water to wipe off the dirt.”

”Thanks, Mom.”

Her mother smiled kindly, ruffled Xiaomi’s hair a couple of times, and by the time Xiaomi realized, her mom had already gone.

Xiaomi pouted, on the verge of tears, wondering why her parents always liked to ruffle her hair.

Fortunately, Xiaomi quickly adjusted her mood, taking the little fox out of the bamboo cage.

She hadn’t looked closely before, only noticing its leg was injured, with the front leg swollen and lots of dark brown clotted blood.

She now discovered the little fox’s entire front leg was swollen and even festering. Upon closer examination, it seemed to have been caught in a trap. The leg wasn’t broken, which was the silver lining.

No wonder she had the opportunity to pick it up; if it weren’t for the special space and Spiritual Spring, even with medicine, this fox might not have survived.

This little fox, when sold to a restaurant, wouldn’t provide much meat, and a restaurant wouldn’t want it; when sold to a wealthy lady, it was so close to death, they wouldn’t need it either.

But now, Ling’er sprayed anti-inflammatory and hemostatic medicine on the little fox’s leg and gave it Spiritual Spring water to drink, which perked it up a bit.

Later, she would clean the wound and the dirt off its body, give it some fish soup, and at night when she went to sleep, she would place it in the special space.

In that space, there was Spiritual Energy, Ling’er to care for it, and they even had animal milk powder, so it would surely recover faster.

Xiaomi never intended to keep the little fox in the space permanently; that’s why she went through all this trouble to bring it back. She hoped that when it grew up, it could accompany her up the mountain along with Xiao Hei.

She let the little fox drink a few sips of the Spiritual Spring water from her palm.

The little fox seemed to know it was beneficial and didn’t resist Xiaomi’s approach anymore, obediently licking the Spiritual Spring water from her palm.

”Meow~” Little Mi strolled into the room, announcing its return to Xiaomi.

Xiaomi quickly waved: ”Little Mi, come on, let me introduce you to a new friend. Look, isn’t it cute?”

Little Mi flicked its tail, pranced around Xiaomi and the little fox, sizing up the newcomer.

It was obvious that Little Mi was assessing the new arrival.

In contrast, the little fox, small and timid compared to the big tabby cat weighing at least ten pounds, seemed a bit frightened.

Its body curled up, letting out soft ’woo woo’ sounds, as if pleading for mercy.

Xiaomi gave Little Mi a playful tug: ”Alright, Little Mi, this is your little brother, so don’t scare him.”

Yes, the little fox was a male.

Little Mi haughtily meowed, flicked its tail, and walked away, completely uninterested in the two of them.
