Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 507: Chapter 314: Raising Fish

As soon as Xiaomi stepped out, she bumped into Xie Fuya from next door, who also happened to be coming out, accompanied by two maidservants.

Xie Fuya was over six months pregnant, sleeping until she naturally woke up every day, undisturbed by anyone. After waking, she would eat something before going to pay respects to Uncle Liu.

Originally, Uncle Liu said there was no need for so much formality and told her to rest well, as her health was a priority, but Xie Fuya persisted in doing so every day.

Sometimes she was a bit early, sometimes a bit late.

”Xiaomi, where are you off to?”

”Fu Ya sister, I’m heading to the field to watch my mom catch fish. Oh, Fu Ya sister, Grandpa Liu didn’t go fishing today; he’s at home alone now. I asked Sister Mengtao to make him some tea.”

Xie Fuya grabbed Xiaomi’s arm, ”Wait for me a bit; I’ll go to the field with you. Last night’s fish was delicious, but I haven’t seen how they’re farmed in the rice paddies yet.”

The rice paddies are a bit far, and she rarely goes that way. Only yesterday did she learn about the paddy fish.

Xiaomi nodded obediently, ”Take your time, Fu Ya sister, we’re not in a rush.”

Xie Fuya went back with Mengtao and Han Yan to greet Uncle Liu, and before long, the three of them came out together. Seeing Xiaomi’s puzzled expression, Xie Fuya smiled helplessly. ℴ

”Grandpa doesn’t like anyone watching over him at home. As soon as Mengtao finished making the tea, he shooed us out.”

Though Grandpa is indeed still robust and in good health, given his age, how could we not worry as the younger generation?

Noticing the worry in Xie Fuya’s eyes, Xiaomi thought of something.

”Little Black! Little Black!” she shouted at the top of her voice.

Little Black didn’t know where Xiaomi was, but its hearing was keen. Soon it responded, appearing from behind the house within a few breaths.

”Woof woof~” It dashed over to Xiaomi, circling around her, panting excitedly, looking overjoyed.

”Little Black, go back and keep Grandpa Liu company, and keep an eye on him for us, okay?”

”Woof woof~” Little Black barked in response, wagged its tail, and trotted back.

Xie Fuya was amazed, ”Little Black is so smart; it understands what you say.”

Xiaomi tilted her chin up proudly, ”Of course, both Little Black and Little Mi are smart; they’ve understood what we say since they were little.”

The next second, her expression fell, ”But Little Mi is too haughty. When it wants to pay attention to you, it understands everything you say. When it doesn’t, it won’t even respond to its name.”

Indeed, cats everywhere are the same. Even native countryside cats have their pride when they feel it’s warranted!

Xie Fuya was surprised, ”Really? But I just saw it being very clingy to Little White.”

Speaking of this, Xiaomi felt even more exasperated, ”I’ve raised it for so many years, and it’s never been that clingy with me!”

Xie Fuya burst into laughter, ”Alright alright, Little Mi surely likes you the most; I heard every time you go up the mountain, Little Black and Little Mi follow, and they’re nowhere to be seen at home.”

Xiaomi clutched her chest, looking almost heartbroken, ”Fu Ya sister, stop it. Just now I went up the mountain, and Little Mi didn’t follow me anymore.”

Xie Fuya was taken aback and immediately abandoned her ladylike demeanor, laughing heartily.

Even Mengtao and Han Yan couldn’t help but cover their mouths and giggle.

Xiaomi glanced at the three of them laughing heartily and huffed in annoyance!

In their casual chatter, they were nearing the Jiang family’s paddy fields, where besides Xiaomi’s second mother, Aunt Yang, and Qi Xi were also present. They even encountered Yang Shulin, who was helping them move the fish to a large basin by the village road.

Apart from these few, there were several other women, some helping to catch fish with bamboo tongs and putting them into nearby buckets, or using small fishing nets.

Among them was Xiaocao’s mother, and even Xiaocao was there.

As they got a bit closer, they could hear conversations about paddy fish and questions directed at Second Mother.

Others might not see it, but Xiaomi immediately noticed her mother, though smiling and responding, seemed a bit tense.

It’s tough for Mom. She’s quite introverted, yet here she was surrounded by so many people talking.

Xiaomi pulled at Xie Fuya, ”Fu Ya sister, there are too many people over there; you guys shouldn’t get too close, or walk around to a spot without people to watch from.”

She pointed to a path that bypassed the group of busy women to reach the edge of the Jiang family’s fields.
